I had a feeling you two would enjoy KL. We really enjoy that city. We have already been there for a total of three months this year. You are pretty spot on with everything you have said. We have been in Southeast Asia for a while now and have gotten pretty used to the heat. However, the great thing about Bukit Bintang is the elevated air conditioned walkways you mentioned. There are also underground air conditioned walkways that connect the malls and other places. We could literally go grocery shopping, hang out at the mall, dining, go to the movies, go to doctors appointments, etc. and barely break a sweat. I agree the sidewalks there are great compared to many other places in Southeast Asia and it's also great that many of them are covered to provide shelter from the sun and rain. The last place we stayed in Bukit Bintang had a lot of trees and we loved it. As far as transportation is concerned, Grabs are great there and the train works a charm as well. Looks like you stayed away from Jalan Alor street. You didn't miss much. Better local food and experiences can be had elsewhere. Thanks for sharing your experience of KL. Safe travels on your way to Singapore.
We walked through Jalan Alor Street many times but were not impressed. The prices were higher, and it was touristy, we found better options. We did very much enjoy the city and we were able to get a lot of work done. Safe travels!! Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie yes Jln Alor is more for the tourists so the price is higher. Also it is dominated by mostly Thai cuisines, not really local Malaysians... Better ones are actually behind Berjaya Time Square, around Mercure Hotel.. Many of those food outlets have been around for more than 50 years but mostly Chinese cuisines.

Our life in KL for 8 months- living in a constant state of being drenched. Cool video KL is my favourite city and I have been to many of the tourist places there plus it is very green with beautiful parks in the centre. And Bangkok is my 2nd favourite city.
Awesome video! Malaysia is an amazing place! The food is fantastic. I think Nonya food is a hidden gem that isn't well-known in the US, but some roti canai and a big bowl of laksa are always great. Full massages aren't my thing at all, but a food massage after walking around all day is perfect and they are cheap enough in SE Asia that you can easily get one a day.
Hi! Thank you so much ☺ We really enjoyed the different foods we tried in Malaysia, and had a few different varities of roti. Yes, we agreee - the foot massages are so wonderful after all the miles walked in a day exploring the city. Cheers 🍻
Unfortunately we only had 1 full day in Penang after our Airbnb fail. We used it shooting a video on Penang but really didn't get to spend the time that we would have liked.
Thanks, guys - we really appreciate that. We really enjoyed being back in a large city with many of the creature comforts we may have been missing after a few months of island living. Brian's loving his new shoes - I can barely keep up with him now 😂 Hope your travels are going well, you've made us so excited to make it to Japan next year when we return. Cheers
Great video, we really enjoyed KL as well. We did the Hop on Hop off, It was our first time and we loved it., especially with the heat! The malls are outrageous in a good way, A/C and browsing! Glad to see the stairs are repainted, they were white when we were there. Enjoy!
Such a wonderful city and so fun to explore after spending so much time in smaller beach towns. The malls were an amazing escape from the heat; we used them often. That's very interesting about the stairs, they'd be so much less impressive if they were white. Hope your travels are going well!! Cheers 🍻
Love that you guys mentioned the "clockwork" daily albeit brief storms - KL has some of the craziest lightning and thunder of any capital I've been too (I'm easily amused!). Thank you for the well-researched and practical info (particularly for walking sightseers).
Wow, you stayed in The Robertson, my favorite place to stay in KL. And you say you were there in early May, staying in an apartment on the 43rd floor. Guess what...I was in an apartment with the same view as you at the same time but on the 41st floor! Incredible I never ran into you. I noticed the lack of motorbikes as well compared to other places in Southeast Asia, and how it is much quieter because people rarely honk their horns. KL is really a great city. Thank you for sharing your experiences there!
Sorry that we missed you, Jim!! Kuala Lumpur is a great city, and The Robertson is a perfect location. Thank you for watching and commenting. We may run into you somewhere at some point! Safe travels.
10:17 In case you didn't know, those masseurs are invariably foreign migrant workers usually from Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia... Malaysia supports a disproportionately high number of foreign migrant workers from other Southeast Asian (other than Singapore) and South Asia countries : at least 7 million of them, equivalent to 22 percent of Malaysia's population and 45 percent of its workforce.
It is just as bad as dubai. Too many. Some portion are not even working. They are begging on the streets. Some working illegally in the wet markets. The worst thing, we have 200k of refugees from myanmar. And a large group left over from Philippines mindanao civil war.
My husband Ray and I really love you guys! We have watched your grow from your very first video to where you are now. Your videos are top quality! Who does the video production or editing? From your biggest fans 😃
Hi, Ray and Carrie. Thank you for sticking with us for so long!! While Carrie does most of the editing I did Kuala Lumpur and a few others but 75% is all her. I do most of the filming. We will have an Airbnb video out in a couple of weeks to explain how we choose our lodging and what to do when things go wrong. We would agree that pricing has gone up and there has to be something more economical. We will be heading back to Europe in July. Maybe someday we will be in the same place at the same time. Thank you again for all the support and safe travel. Cheers!!🍻
If you guys have spare time in Malaysia, try cooler (in terms of temperature) places like Genting Highlands, Cameron Highlands (nice retirement place) and Bukit Tinggi French Village. These places are closer in terms ambient temperature and feels to San Diego or San Francisco generally, getaways for locals to feel the cooler weather uphill.
Thank you so much for the great suggestions! We did look into Genting Highlands as a nice retreat from the temps but ended up running out of time. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers!!
I'll tell you why I particularly this like THIS video, aside from both your lovely personalities. Your production, organization, audio and filming reflect the work you have obviously put in behind the scenes in preparation. Additionally, I love videos that present just enough insight to whet the appetite because I like to discover things for myself, leaving surprises in the bag for when i get to a location. Gee and I will be in South East Asia next February/March, God willing. Kudos for excellent work. Ten out of ten. Roger
Thank you, Roger! We do put a lot of work into what we do so it is nice to hear that it is noticed! 😃 We had a great time in Kuala Lumpur and recommend visiting for a couple of days a least. We will be back in SE Asia again early next year as well. Thank you again for the kind words. Cheers!!🍻
@Brian and Carrie Thanks. We will be making a one day call while on Princess Cruises, but after the cruise is concluded, we will spend extra time in South East including five nights in Kuala Lumpur. Cheers
Very interesting city. I still have my eye on the Greek Islands or maybe Madeira or the Algarve, but the cost of living on this side of the world is awfully appealing. But the humidity! : ) Another great video as usual.
The Algarve and the Greek Islands are great options but you are right, the cost of living in SE Asia can't be beat! But the humidity!!! Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
I miss the Greek islands this summer because I have decided to give Croatia a try . Not sure it was the best decision for me , but I will carry on and maybe try Montenegro too .
@@laral8668 Hi , Thanks ,I actually live in Greece and have visited at least 45 islands including Crete and Rhodes . Am currently travelling around Croatia 😊.
I wish you guys safe journeys always in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia @ the Shopping Mall with other tourists in May of 2023❤❤❤Congratulations to you guys always for your new remarkable videos in 2023❤❤❤
Great video guys! We loved Kuala Lumpur. At the Batu Caves a monkey tried to steal my wife's water. It was too funny. We should have grabbed your number when we ran into you guys in Kuala Lumpur. We love having lunch/dinner and chatting with other full-time travelers. Maybe we will catch you in another city around the world. We are in Bali now but headed back to Vietnam soon. Will and Jen
That is so funny - we saw one monkey climb onto a lady and was trying to get food from the basket she was carrying. Yes, that would have been great! We love meeting up with fellow travelers as well. Always fun to hear where others have been and their experiences. Maybe we will cross paths again somewhere in the world. We are heading home for a visit and then off in a completely different direction but do plan to return to SE Asia next January. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers 🍻
Terima Kasih!! Great video sharing our favourite city in Asia. We've resided at both Times Sqaure and also in Bukit Ceylon so it was so nice seeing our local areas again. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Also, make sure you try Chicken Fish in Jalan Alor. Roti Chanai is also a winner. A day trip down to Melaka is worthwhile too.
Thank you so much for the suggestions on food - Chicken Fish sounds interesting ☺ We really enjoyed the area we stayed in, it was so central to everything we wanted to see and do. Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻
What a beautiful, well develop, and established country. Can you go over the cost of living there? As for the cave, that is ashame not to have an elevator, this prevents a lot of older folks from enjoying. I can’t wait for Japan or Korea.
It is a very beautiful country! This Saturday we will have a video going over all our costs for the month we spent in Malaysia. It is unfortunate, but we appreciated there were other caves that you could access if there was a mobility issue. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers 🍻
Hi John! That's so awesome, Seattle is so close to our hometown of Bellingham. We can see the draw why so many stay in KL - from lower costs, great food, and kind people. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers 🍻
There is plenty to do and see in Singapore that is free or very inexpensive. Such a beautiful city!! And yes, the food courts at the malls are a great option!! Thank you for watching and commenting on our channel!! Cheers!!🍻
Malaysia my fav place. Thanks for bringing back memories!. BTW can you please post a link to the airbnb u guys stayed in would be fun to be staying on the 42nd floor and see the entire world from up above

@@BrianandCarrie looking at the video, I guess you are staying at The Robertson . Great location. Close to almosr everything. That's where the city centre was in the 70s and 80s and prior to that (where china town is, including central market and pudu raya bus station). As the city expanded the new city centre is now at KLCC area.

Great video of a beautiful city! I enjoy your videos so very much! I look forward to ‘seeing’ y’all every Saturday. ❤️❤️ Looking forward to seeing what sandals you decide on Brian. 😉 My husband retires Tuesday and we close on our house Tuesday, too. We’ll spend one months in the states saying our goodbyes to everyone. Then we travel to Guadalajara for the first month of our world travel adventures. We are beyond excited! We’ve worked and planned for this for so long and now it’s just a month away! 😁👏🏻
Hi Lorrie! Thank you so much for the kind words and support, we really appreciate it. We have just made it back to the States and Brian will be on the hunt now for those new sandals for our next leg of travels. You have to be so excited - the final countdown is the best! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Guadalajara ☺ Cheers!!
KL is quieter. I prefer the hustle of Bangkok! But I loved Petaling -Chinatown. I stayed at 4pts Sheraton soooo affordable and a new construction. Pavilion Mall was fancy but they have Five Guys Burgers 🍔 if you need your Western Fix and The Four Seasons has Nobu sushi 🍣 restaurant if you want an upscale experience for a fraction of the price in US. I loved the Free Buses that take you around KL. The Go bus Green line went from Patronas to Bukit Bintang in a circle. Free Air Conditioned bus!!! I loved Malaysia 🇲🇾 My favourite coffee shop is Kaffe in Chinatown! Best desserts 🍮 and coffee! I’m ready to go back I left in April!
We loved Bangkok as well and will be going back next spring for a few days at least. Thank you for all the tips, watching, and commenting, Erika! We appreciate the support! ❤
One day come to Indonesia, travelling in bandung city. Usually by car 4 hours arrive. But with high speed railway 350 km/hours only 45 minuts from jakarta city. Open to public 18 august 2023..the first in southeast. Amazing
That makes complete sense as that was the only area we walked through where we felt that kind of pushy sales. We found the people in Malaysia to be so kind and welcoming ☺. Thanks so much for watching!
i knew. you stayed at robertson.. my fav place to stay at KL. the reason is .. great location.. and the mamak shop below was delicious. the nasi lemak you tried really good for me as local. roti canai and their tea also good
Kuala Lumpur is a must-visit. We enjoyed the food and the cost was very reasonable. Our Cost-of-Living video will be out next week. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!🍻
Brian, you are more brave than I, if you have a fear of heights. I saw those towers and thought no way would I pay to be so high up! Then, one of you said your place was on the 43rd floor 😮! My knees and legs go weak when I'm on like the 7th floor. I just saw on Instagram you are back in WA visiting. Have a good time with family and friends. Kathleen
Thank you, Kathleen! We are home and loving the time with friends and family. We are also planning our next destination starting in July and are very excited about that as well. Thank you for following us and commenting! Cheers!!🍻
What an amazing looking city! I am so impressed with everything that you showed! Definitely a must see, at least once! But ugh, it looks like you guys are really struggling with the oppressive humidity. I would be dying! Not sure if you two are familiar with the concept of 'wet-bulb temperature', but extremely humid environments like that inhibit the body's ability to cool itself through evaporative cooling, and so life-threatening heat stroke can happen at much lower temperatures than you would think and can happen in as little as six hours! So definitely play it safe! Great video!!
We did find the humidity hard to deal with for long stretches. Thankfully we found many locations we could hop into (usually the malls ☺) where we could relax for a bit in the nice cool temps. We hadn't ever heard of that term, thanks for sharing - quite interesting Thanks so much for watching - Cheers 🍻
Like most Australian’s (because it is so close & different to Australia) our family has spent a lot of time in SEAsia and love it all. Our favourite Countries are Cambodia and Laos. No where near as developed as where you have been and maybe that’s a big part of the appeal. I hope you get the chance to go to both these Countries.
Hi Phil! We are coming back next January and so excited to have Cambodia and Laos on the list of places we will be visiting. We've only heard positive reviews and believe not being quite as developed will apeal to us as well. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers 🍻
@@BrianandCarrie I have been living in Brunei for nearly 20 years - the place is a hidden little gem lol. Not a great deal for tourists per se, but the people are incredibly welcoming and the food is awesome. Not as cheap as other Asian countries due to Brunei's wealth but still worth a visit. Royal Brunei Airlines are a good little airline too, very good service and food!
my wife and I were in KL to see family the same time you were there, I thought I saw you but wasn't sure! We normally stay in the Fairlane Apartments or the Dorsett Apartments, both of which are relatively cheaper than a hotel and have amazing views of the skyline, both being hi-rise blocks in Bukit Bintang ('Star Hil'). The Hotel Royale is also one of our favourites there, good value with great food.
@@BrianandCarrie lol, well, i was waiting for my wife who was taking forever inside a jewelry shop in that Mall, (the Pavillion I think it was) and I was outside the shop, enjoying the view from the balcony. I saw you but honestly couldn't be certain, my eyes not what they were lol. Besides, I would feel a bit rude to approach you, especially when you're trying to film! Great to see the video and thanks, was fun to see our trip, if you see what I mean!
Hey you two! I've been waiting weeks for this video to post, just because it seemed appropriate. My wife and I met you in the mall by Patronus Towers! Bryan and Ariana from Chicago. I just wanted to say how amazing it was to run into you both. We really appreciated your time and chatting with you for a few minutes. You're even more cool in person than on the videos. I'm a really huge fan of your channel, your style, and your editing. My wife and I are also hoping to start making some videos to share in the semi near future when I get the courage to retire and follow in your footsteps. You two are a huge inspiration! I regret not having the time to buy you dinner and some beer but hopefully we will meet again!
Hi Bryan and Ariana! It was nice to meet you two as well and thank you so much for the Buy Me a Beer. We wish we could have enjoyed those together. Maybe we will run into you again someday soon!! Thank you again for all the support! Cheers!!🍻🍻
Have a safe journey to Singapore. As you said there is a lot to see and do there as I experienced the country for 1 week. Gardens By the Bay ( including Super trees, Cloud forest and flower dome) , Botanical Gardens, Sentosa Island for adventures, Orchard for shopping. There are plenty of places including hawker centres to try local dishes which are fairly priced. Try their MRT trains, they are very good and runs on time and are well connected.
We had a fantastic time in Singapore! We were only there for 2 days but we felt like we got to see all that we possibly could in a short amount of time. It was a fun video to shoot!! Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Wow, it's great you had a fantastic time there. Could you briefly summarise the places you went in Singapore and how you felt about them if you don't mind?
Actually, honking here is a little rude. I have been driving in KL for 40 years and I really can't remember when was the last time I honked when driving in KL. Enjoy your stay here. Stay safe.
That is so interesting to hear - we were so impressed with how quiet it was on the streets. Especially after traveling through Vietnam where they honk for absolutely everything. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers!!
It sure looked like a great way to see the city - we would have absolutely done this if we hadn't had so long to explore the city. Thanks for watching ☺
Hallo hii 🖐️😁, kenikmatan makanan nasi berlauk malaysia terletak di tangan anda, maksudnya kamu makan dengan tangan, Terima kasih datang ke malaysia 😁👍🖐️😁
I've been enjoying your videos for quite a while now. I must admit that the thought of visiting Southeast Asia was not very appealing to me when I once thought of future travels. After seeing the videos from you and several other RUclips channels, however, I cannot wait to go! I have two more days of work and then I am retiring (May 31). I'll begin full-time, solo world travel in September. I've booked my first trip, which will extend into late January. There will be stops in Ireland, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece and Tunisia. Can't wait to begin!
Hi Richard! SE Asia wasn't top on our list when we first started, but now after being there for 5 months, we can't wait to return next January. Sounds like you have a wonderful itinerary planned - how exciting! Congrats on your retirement and safe travels ☺ Cheers!!
I'm using a simple pair of Nike Air now. They slip on and off and inexpensive, most brands have the same style. I like them because they pack away flat and easy. Thew ones I bought in KL are too big.
Thanks for the KL video. It looks lovely; I'd want to go spend a month just to try all the good food and fun places to eat. I'm starting to make our plans for where to pass the 2024 winter months and SE Asia just beats every other place in price and value and good food. Where to after Singapore?
Hi Merrill! SE Asia is such a great place to travel, for so many reasons - but one big one is just how far your dollar stretches. We are heading home for a visit with family and then off in a whole different direction. We will have a video out soon sharing our next 6 months' plan - we are so excited about all the places we have planned. Cheers!!
Portugal is lovely...but remember it IS Europe, with European costs! Malaysia is relatively cheap due to the currency exchange and the cost of living is a fraction of Europe! You would not believe how large a house you can buy in Malaysia, for 200k Euros: a genuine mansion! lol.
You mentioned in another video (I think) that the price of food/grocery etc. in Kuala Lumpur. Yes, even for a local, food is a little pricey. Some useful tips : (if you're on a budget) you need to travel a little bit outskirt (this is also a tip for other tourists as well - if you're already left KL) for example - people will not tell you this but 1.5km from Batu Caves, there are townships called Sri Gombak (SG3, SG1 and Prima) - you can walk over there from Batu Caves if you enjoy the tan. (There is also a Giant Hypermarket (kind a like the local Walmart) where there is also a food court for you to choose various Asian delights) There is a free yellow bus (which you need to request the driver to stop at Sri Gombak) - you'll be surprised with the variety of local food (stalls, restaurants, fast food) and how cheap they are - Malay, Indian, Chinese, Western - vege and non-vege (the free yellow bus also goes to Bandar Baru Selayang - another great place to be at. If you wish to travel to Gombak LRT Station by the same bus, you need to wait at the same place where they drop you off - but not recommended at nightime as there is a night market and people are double parking over there - kind a difficult to see the bus sometimes) if you want to buy drinks/beverages or basic groceries - drop by at any most economical 99 Speedmart (closed at 10.00 pm though) Travelling back to KL from Sri Gombak is easy, take any blue bus (which require a touch and go card), the best bus to take is T201 which goes straight to Gombak LRT Station (it's about RM1.00 - circa USD 0.21) but you need to wait at the right bus stop (which is in front of Coffee Bean). You can also go to Genting by express buses - will not cost you much. Alternatively, you can also go to the outskirt of Ampang (Ampang Jaya), or perhaps Klang or Wangsa Maju/Wangsa Melawati - just naming a few. There are quite a number of informative FB Page for example "Pinggiran and Sri Gombak" where you can find adequate information about the place. There are many tourists looking for genuine traditional food. It's all outside of KL. Not to worry, people are very nice here, you can ask anyone if you feel that you're unsure or lost. But Grab will always be there to help. There are quite a lot of hidden gems outskirt of KL (but it would not be enough for me to comment here) But if you're the adventurous type, it would be fun. (the only thing about outskirt of KL, is that you shouldn't be around nightime - the shops are closed early although there are few Mamak (Indian Muslim) restaurants up to 12-2.00 am. - (advisable to limit up to 8.30 pm) Basically KL is a good place to be - all in all. Lush of greens, pedestrian-friendly, ease of mobility (vast network of transport) Good luck
Thank you so much, these are wonderful suggestions. We've left already, but this is great for anyone looking to visit. Thank you so much for watching 😊

Such a good video guys! You convinced us to go back to Malaysia. Nice new kicks btw 👟
Cheers 🍻
I suggest both of you to visit Putra Jaya if both of you are coming back to Malaysia in the future.. 😊❤
Thank you so much for the suggestion, we will be sure to check it out when we return 😊
Thank you very much for promoting KL . Happy holidays and pls come back to Malaysia ya ......
Thank you so much! We loved our time in KL, such a beautiful city. Cheers!!
Love that you guys mentioned the "clockwork" daily albeit brief storms - KL has some of the craziest lightning and thunder of any capital I've been too (I'm easily amused!).
Thank you for the well-researched and practical info (particularly for walking sightseers).
The craziest thunderstorms we have ever experienced were in KL!! For us, it is free entertainment! 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting!
Cheers!🍻
Malaysia also has less population compared to other SEA countries! That y is quiet!
I am also staying at Robertson with my wife right now on 41st floor. The view is amazing!
Welcome to colourful Malaysia 🇲🇾 🌿🎊👍
Thank you ❤️☺️
10:17 In case you didn't know, those masseurs are invariably foreign migrant workers usually from Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia...
And a large group left over from Philippines mindanao civil war.
wonderful TV report that makes you want to go and visit this marvellous Kuala Lumpur ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate the kind words. Cheers!!
My husband Ray and I really love you guys! We have watched your grow from your very first video to where you are now. Your videos are top quality! Who does the video production or editing?
From your biggest fans
😃
Hi, Ray and Carrie. Thank you for sticking with us for so long!! While Carrie does most of the editing I did Kuala Lumpur and a few others but 75% is all her. I do most of the filming. We will have an Airbnb video out in a couple of weeks to explain how we choose our lodging and what to do when things go wrong. We would agree that pricing has gone up and there has to be something more economical. We will be heading back to Europe in July. Maybe someday we will be in the same place at the same time. Thank you again for all the support and safe travel.
Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie We would love the opportunity to hang out sometime! We will be in Rome in October.
Thank u for this wonderful video n for also showing your explorations in KL. Welcome to Malaysia. Very nice vlog.
Hi Yasin! Thank you so much, we have loved our time in KL ♥
@@BrianandCarrie Hi u guys. Good to know that u guys have had a great time in KL. 😀
Cheers
Welcome to Malaysia 😅😅😅
just arrived yesterday and looking forward to our time here. Thanks for your thoughts and recommendations.
Cheers!!🍻
Dress sensibly. Cotton is best. Preferably loose.
I miss the Greek islands this summer because I have decided to give Croatia a try . Not sure it was the best decision for me , but I will carry on and maybe try Montenegro too .
@@JH-me go to Crete or Rhodes Island both are so beautiful, I was there and I love it .

I wish you guys safe journeys always in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia @ the Shopping Mall with other tourists in May of 2023❤❤❤Congratulations to you guys always for your new remarkable videos in 2023❤❤❤
Hi Theo! Thank you so much, we truly loved our time in Kuala Lumpur. Thank you so much for watching - Cheers!!
Enjoy your stay in KL. Syabas.
Thank you so much!! ❤
Order Char Kway Teow! If you like: noodles, savory flavor, and shrimp and squid, this is an incredible dish! Also, Sarang Burang and Lamb Rendang
Thank you, Charles!!
Cheers!!🍻
Lamb rendang is rare. Usually its beef or chicken
Cheers 🍻
You guys have an amazing stay there! Blessings
Thank you, Alexander!!
Welcome to greater KL, truly Asia hub! The Asian metropolis that has 9mil people now.
Hi, welcome 🤗 to Malaysia 🎉❤
Hi - Thank you so much ♥
I'm from Seattle been living in KL for 28 years!
Hi John! That's so awesome, Seattle is so close to our hometown of Bellingham. We can see the draw why so many stay in KL - from lower costs, great food, and kind people. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers 🍻
Holy cow
@@BrianandCarrie Wow Bellingham been there many times back in the day Chaukanut drive was fun. Malaysia is great but its not all rosey.
IF you truly love parks then KL is the place for you... Parks, Nature Walks and Forests, Rivers & Waterfalls abound and all if not most are free...

Welcome to Malaysia❤

Massage parlours are usually operated by Thais
They r a bit pushy
We Malaysians are not the type to force on others
That makes complete sense as that was the only area we walked through where we felt that kind of pushy sales. We found the people in Malaysia to be so kind and welcoming ☺. Thanks so much for watching!
Hope you’ve had a great time in Malaysia. Do come back and explore more. Happy travels.

Kathleen

the blue building is the second highest tower in the world
That's so interesting, thanks for letting us know! Cheers!!
Go to Putra Jaya next door, you'll be amazed by the architecture
Thank you so much for the suggestion, we really appreciate it. Cheers!!

Malls are there for the Food courts 😅
my wife and I were in KL to see family the same time you were there, I thought I saw you but wasn't sure!
We wish you had said hi!

Malaysia and Portugal are the top retirement destinations for US Citizens outside of Mexico ......
Yes, that is what we understand! We can see why ☺
And also the no 1 medical tourism destination ahead of France. For retirees, medical services is important as well.
@@keangwooichoo6138 Yep, its a top choice destination.
I have been looking a the MM2H, but recent changes are making things difficult now.
@ozmunky sorry to say, mm2h is under review. You can temporary consider sarawak mm2h
Some useful tips : (if you're on a budget) you need to travel a little bit outskirt (this is also a tip for other tourists as well - if you're already left KL)
for example - people will not tell you this but 1.5km from Batu Caves, there are townships called Sri Gombak (SG3, SG1 and Prima) - you can walk over there from Batu Caves if you enjoy the tan. (There is also a Giant Hypermarket (kind a like the local Walmart) where there is also a food court for you to choose various Asian delights)
There is a free yellow bus (which you need to request the driver to stop at Sri Gombak) - you'll be surprised with the variety of local food (stalls, restaurants, fast food) and how cheap they are - Malay, Indian, Chinese, Western - vege and non-vege (the free yellow bus also goes to Bandar Baru Selayang - another great place to be at. If you wish to travel to Gombak LRT Station by the same bus, you need to wait at the same place where they drop you off - but not recommended at nightime as there is a night market and people are double parking over there - kind a difficult to see the bus sometimes)
if you want to buy drinks/beverages or basic groceries - drop by at any most economical 99 Speedmart (closed at 10.00 pm though)
Travelling back to KL from Sri Gombak is easy, take any blue bus (which require a touch and go card), the best bus to take is T201 which goes straight to Gombak LRT Station (it's about RM1.00 - circa USD 0.21) but you need to wait at the right bus stop (which is in front of Coffee Bean).
- (advisable to limit up to 8.30 pm)
Basically KL is a good place to be - all in all. Lush of greens, pedestrian-friendly, ease of mobility (vast network of transport)
Good luck
Thank you so much, these are wonderful suggestions. We've left already, but this is great for anyone looking to visit. Thank you so much for watching 😊
