Archon Studio also makes some great plastic terrain, such as Rampart Eternal Cathedral, City Ruins, and so on.

Thanks! Yeah it is easy to wind up with a lot of GW terrain, it’s all so cool and the fact that a lot of it works together is very compelling

@@crimson_oracle yeah its also very expensive :D so you think twice about: do I glue this? Or do I keep it flexible? But how do I paint it then? Etc. :D

Schmutz lol! That's a word I've never heard before. Great video mate thanks, I'm working on terrain for my first board at present. This was really helpful.

Schmutz means dirt in German by the way ...

@@derionone I figured it was German, just never heard it before. I guess they never thought to teach me the word for ‘dirt’ when I did my introductory course 😆

Great video, been doing a deep dive/hyperfixation on terrain building and this is easily the best that explains everything I needed. Most other videos are about d&d (or other RPGs), or expect a budget/skill/experience level that I ain't got. Thanks, friend :)

Glad you liked it, and yes there’s definitely a tendency toward expensive or complex recommendations, it puts people off and makes it seem inaccessible

I work at construction and we throw alot of the foam away that dosent fit after cutting and so on ... so if one is extremely limited with budget and you would rather spend every penny on minis ... you can always ask at construction sites if you can have some ... still an option for low bugs people ... just don't sneak around when no one is there

Considering how usable the foam is its worth asking i use it in almost every project
