- As more migrants arrive in New York City, many are trying to make a living however they can in the Big Apple. FOX 5 New York spoke with Elvia Caiza, a migrant who arrived from Ecuador three months ago, who is now selling churros in the city's subway about her story.

Im sick of Americans especially our veterans and children paying by being passed over because our government decided let's help undocumented, immigrants first let's give them everything for free for doing absolutely nothing. And what the hell are they seeking Asylum from. I need help for housing, couldn't afford the rent landed in a shelter, here's the slap in my face "there is no funds for hotel vouchers" then I see the news how the government sent all these immigrants to hotels, free food everything without having to do absolutely anything. I'm retired paid my taxes. Now that I need a little help like a lot of struggling AMERICAN families let's not forget our homeless veterans. So I'm thinking WTF shocked stunned then I got really, really f**king mad and now I'm screwed because I'm an AMERICAN. I've lost my faith in my government and Im numb to the immigrants struggle when I saw how disgusting their behavior and entitled attitude is the disrespectful way they have conducted themselves towards everything that's been given to them for free. Destroying property acting like it's ok. Shame on the ones that participated in that frenzy. They're all laughing at our gullible government. This is so bad I'm disgusted, furious I have no sympathy for these immigrants who had a chance to succeed here. And our government is stupid enough to keep helping them and I just have to live with it.

It is very unsanitary to buy and eat food in the subway. There is a lot of pollutants, and the subway has a lot of germs. The woman selling the food has no gloves and is not adhering to any standard hygiene protocols. She doesn't even have access to running water to wash her hands.
You have to remember in their Country the food standards are different!!! WE have laws and Standards and in their country they don't have the same standards

Obviously I feel bad for the woman and having to resort to this, but I think ultimately this is one of the main issues with illegal immigration -- we have a giant influx of people who don't understand the concept of why government regulations exist. They drive without licenses and car insurance putting others at risk. They sell food in the subway without any understanding that food safety laws exist to protect people. They cross the border despite there being laws against this. We're at the point where we have a vast influx of people showing up who don't respect the rule of law and those people pop out kids who aren't much better. SAD!

Did they take the "serve safe" class? Can they properly temp their food out? Is it stored properly? This is two months after the fact, but, for the record, you do not want a food born illness. It is serious business and, no offense meant to anyone, but you don't know if they are healthy - it's just there is no place to wash your hands properly in the subway- I'm telling you - don't do it... don't risk your health to save a buck.

So true, a relative on mine use to work at a women's shelter and they had the system down. As soon as they got there they made their phone calls to collect, claimed kids had "problems ", that's extra money. To say the least she quit her job because the kids would threaten the workers you can't tell me anything I ll get you in trouble. They game the system.
Hispanic folk don't medicate their children in large numbers for checks. You can't just claim the disorder, a doctor has to be "treating" the child and make the diagnosis. White folks are the ones most into pharma with the greatest access to it and the crazy check diagnoses, not illegal immigrants.

I had a few managers working at McDonald’s that couldn’t speak any English . I was constantly translating for one and couldn’t even go on breaks without things falling apart. They would use google translate to talk to me and customers. All the meetings were in Spanish and no one could train me . A lot of them who also spoke no English would disappear after a few weeks. How can they expect to be successful communicating with people if they don’t learn a little of the language . Ik learning a new language is hard when you’re older but I would never even visit another country without knowing a good amount of words .

That's not right if a US citizen tried that not only would we get a fine but we would have to go to court. I work 50 hours a week tried to get food assistance for just a few months I was rejected but they get food stamps and free health care and they have anchor babies that my tax money pays for.
Well, here's the thing. There are legitimate food establishments selling similar foods she is selling but they have health dept. permits, consumer affairs dept. permits, they rent space and buildings to sell their foods, they pay taxes, they hire employees who make a living and pay income taxes. Now she comes along and decides she's gonna sell unlicensed food she makes in a homeless shelter? Or does she make the stuff in some hotel room or shabby unclean place? She doesn't pay license or permit fees or income tax. Meanwhile everyone else has to. These people must be deported back to their countries. It just isn't working.

So i am a server and bsrtender in an upscale restaurant in a major southern city. I can make over 200$ a day, sometimes i only make 75$. I also have two kids. Heres the difference. I pay taxes on that money. It would be great to just pocket everything and then go home to a free apartment but thsts not how life works. This is ridiculous, someone throw them out of the country.
