- www.FaliaReview... - This is my review of the CQB Tool, which is an awesome little ring knife that was designed for Close Quarters Battle (CQB). It is Made In The USA by Spartan Blades, and it is the predecessor to Benchmade's very similar SOCP dagger. Although very slim and lightweight, this blade is extremely durable and a serious defense tool. It is $160 at spartanbladesus..., and they also sell a blue trainer version for $45.

This blade is actually the predecessor to Benchmade's SOCP Dagger - I actually gave a brief comparison of these 2 knives near the end of this video for those who were looking for a more affordable option
There's something awesome and disconcerting about this nice sounding girl demoing a people stabber like this.
Great review and great information.
TJack haha, it's funny that you commented on this video. I agree with your points. Such a wicked knife.
It is what it is brother! Outdoor Manly
I have a Ka-Bar TDI and love it. Will be reviewing it in the next couple months.
Benchmade makes a very similar "SOCP" dagger. This CQB Tool from Spartan Blades came first though.
most comprehensive review on this particular item to date.
Yes, and it's great - It's pretty much the same pistol as the SIG 1911 Extreme (which I've done a few videos on). The Tac Ops just has a different trigger, different grips, and no forward serrations.
I have the benchmade socp knife. I like it a lot as it is one of the few knives id actually run with. Carrying inside the waste band appendix carry sucks though.
That's nice that they only sharpened one side for you. Thanks for the info.
I don't miss the high cost of maintenance & the difficulty finding parts, but I absolutely miss the fun I had with it & the freedom it gave me. I actually just sold it last year to a young girl who will hopefully have as much fun with it as I did. If you're lucky enough to have a Westy, I think that full-timing is really the only way to go. It's definitely best to keep them running & use them to their full potential :)
The Benchmade SOCP is very similar and has a clip on it's sheath
faliaphotography you could put an Ulti Clip on it, but I agree with you.
Im sure someone said this but benchmade owns this design minus the cutout and they have a better sheath for $40 less
Good review. You point out some positives and negatives about the knife. Since you are hardcore here are two knives you will love, I have been disappointed with some knives in the past, these are the best I've ever purchased. First, a boot knife that straps via velcro around your boots,CRKT, search on amazon and check the reviews. Second, the Gerber LMFII. This is the one bad ass knife, NOTHING compares, molle also. Both get razor edges with a black Arkasas stone. Buy'em, you wont regret it!
I hope you are back for more videos! missed seeing your vids!
Spartan Blades makes some great knifes. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review Falia. That knife looking interesting and might make a good self defence weapon where I live. I hope we are going to start seeing more videos from you,if not I'll watch when you post them.
You really have the best reviews. I hope you come back to RUclips someday. :-)
Yes, I've got Troy Battle Sights on Sprinkles
I have one of these, and another option (that I prefer) is putting my middle finger inside the ring-hole. You can also make a tactical tether using the para-cord instead of buying one. I loop my through a belt when I carry it.
It was a Viking Tactics (VTAC) Battle Belt
I have three of the benchmade one, one was stolen off my flak then one of each color. its a great knife and in military I recommend it for that last ditch or to help make that stand off to switch to your pistol
That looks just like my Benchmade Greg Thompson special
It'd be nice if there was something like this with a belt-clip, specifically for off-hand use.
Muy interesante pero es una mejor opción las de Benchmade, las SOCP son bastante más baratas y además la funda me parece mejor, trae un clip que te permite andarlo en el pantalón muy cómodo, más versátil y económico
I understand that this isn't necessarily for a "knifefight" per se, but I have just been taught that if you pull a knife, you'd better be ready to kill. And the longer the knife in your hands, the less likely you are to get cut.
So, I carry a KA-BAR in my fighting load on my thigh next to my holster. The chances are I will NEVER have to use it, but if I do, I like having the confidence of knowing that is a one-and-done weapon.
Initial impression is good, Flat dark earth finish.Finish is a little warn from being pulled in and out of the Sheath but I can't complain. Going more than likely order a set of pups and a few other Accessories from spartan blades and see what I like. I might post a review on it. Being lazy and haven't bought a camera yet but been going to for like 6 months now. lol
Awesome, I'd love to hear what you think
Trust me, you put enough force behind that thing in and go for a soft area its going ALL the way, sharpened or not.
I also have a TDI LE knife and prefer it for my EDC, but I think this is a good choice for law enforcement or military.
Subscribed just because you’re rockin Spartan Blades
I saw a Enyo at a gun show today and the dealer sold it to me for $100 because he has had in for several months now. Seen him at several shows over the last 2 months and he's always had it. I'll let you know how it works out.
Excellent job on the review of a great product from an amazing company!
That Sparta Coat reminds me of the black finish on my Air Force Special Forces Knife.
Great review! The sticker shock on that knife just sounds painful though...
I also have a TDI and I do prefer that knife for every day carry
I'll take a look at them, thanks
Great, thanks Falia! I saw them when they first came out and wasn't sold. But for off-hand/backup use it seems ideal.
Hi there, do you happen to know if I can use the Benchmade SOCP sheath with the Spartan CQB Tool?
Awesome review and +1 on the new intro logo!
What a sweet little blade. As always, an excellent product review.
Wow, that knife looks menacing, simply pulling it out should scar away 99% of the population... Awesome blade....
I checked the Cal knife laws. Guess I won't be getting any daggers until I move, which is within a couple months. Funny they don't have any problem with my spring assisted 4" knife. Can I really hurt someone worse (or faster) with the dagger?? I can get that blade out pretty quick.
I do recall you pointing out that Benchmade had a lower cost option with lower quality steel. Thanks for introducing me to daggers. Now I want one...
Appreciate you mentioning it the finger breaking thing
Would this blade fit in a SOCP dagger holster and vice versa?
I'm 6-01 and it fits my hand perfect. I have size 15 ring finger so hard to find anything that fits. Yes I'm a little late to these tactics. The way if the blade has brought me to this design. Thanks to Tu for my purchase of this blade. Ronin Tactics. Learn it while it's still free. Shrek (s.o.b.) and all his shooting tips. If you are looking to stretch your legs with your rifle Tiborosaurus rex Is the man.
I said that in the video
Thanks Falia, looks like a nice blade. The dual edge wouldn't work well for what I'm doing. I am also looking at the Ka Bar TDI. That might be better suited for my needs as it's a bit smaller and single-edged.
Good review! Unique design. While the knife is pretty cool, I'm with the crowd that feels this little guy isn't worth the big price tag. I checked out the benchmade Adamas fixed 175BK. Only about $85. The reviews I saw had it as a very high quality dagger. Since I won't be opening packages or whittling wood with this knife, a decent quality steel is all that's required. Also, the Ring dagger looks a little awkward to hold. I don't think it's due to your petite hands.
Love Spartan Blades! Just can't decide if I want the Horkos or the Ares.
I just got mine and out a ULTICLIP on it and it works great
Spartan blades had this made before the socp
At$90, it's still a little steep. For a multitool or a hunting/utility knife that will actually see repeated use, I wouldn't mind, but for a knife that's just designed for LFE, I don't know if I can justify the expense. Maybe somebody with a CNC mill will make a decent knock-off.
I wonder if I can get another aftermarket sheath for edc because that sheath is way to big for edc to my pants
Do you have a "first switchblade review" choice yet for Sept when our new law goes into effect?
yup that's exactly what I carry mine for :)
Awesome blade but Felony in Michigan. but i can carry it for work purposes
Awesome review as always.
What about the skallywag dagger. ... is this better? the appealing thing about the skallywag dagger is the ablong finger hole which can support your hand when used in a hammer fist.
Smoother than a baby's bottom too... no texture.
Great video. Thank you!
Very nice knife and excellent review. Great work, Falia. :)
I have the benchmade version, love the dagger but the finish is wearing off on mine, and it wasnt very sharp from the factory, but that's an easy fix
Great review. Do you practice some specific selfdefense system or rather on your own with the knife or even without it?
Personally if I was a mil I would have this on my thigh, small of my back , or shoulder first 2 because that is natural for me and 3rd if I want to look badass and show off and for a quick neck strike and if knocked over legs or stumac
what is the name of that battle belt you showed
Great review, as always .Love your videos!
Excellent review dudette!
They are behaving great! :)
I agree. Simple blade, hard to hold and limited use. $160 is a bit much. Good review though.
Just got one but want to put a pocket clip on it like the Benchmade have any ideas?
Look at the various Ulticlip mounting options
Thank-you!!!
I always enjoy your work and look forward to the next video!
Check your local laws regarding daggers. Some locals forbid the carrying of daggers outright.
A friend of mine has this knife, I just don't like it. I don't like the feel in my hand, is way over priced and I can't carry a double edged knife in my state anyway. I prefer the Ka-Bar TDI Law Enforcement, Large. It's half the price and twice as handy at fighting off someone going after your gun. With your small hands my I recommend Cold Steel's Double Agent II, with Grivory Grip. It has two rings, is flatter and very concealable. And again, have the price. :)
Surprised you didn't choose a TDI over this
White River Knucklehead is my EDC, made in Michigan. You can immediately insert your finger in the Knucklehead when deploying the blade and the Kydex sheath has room to use your thumb to push off and assist in sliding the blade out.
This dagger looks like it would be a very clumsy weapon as you can not immediately get a firm grip on the handle. A new or modified sheath could fix that though. Mind you, I wouldn't want to get stuck with it. :)
yes i do
where are you?miss your videos
Pretty Cool Knife! This one the other hand is not for spreading butter: FOX Karambit :P
As always ...excellent review, I'll be checking out their site.
don't think it's legal where I am but wish it was! Thanks for the review.
Great blade! Does its job if you know how to use it.
Yeah, yeah got such cute little hands...hope yer thumb heals quick. That knife is one
I'd carry as a neck knife if I didn't already have one for that. And I bet Spartan will come up with one that has a smaller ring hole if enough people ask for that. Thanks for the review,
Li'l Darlin'. (8-)
GREAT REVIEW !!! So you definately prefer this one over the Benchmade? And you mention the 'steel' used if of different quality...would you say the Benchmade steel for their dagger is really below-par, like it's cheap and the tip will break? Which one is longer---Spartan or Benchmade?? Thanks for getting back to me about these questions.....(I like the Spartan, but the benchmade has that 'belt clip'!
Gabriela Last Check out TOPS I.C.E. Dagger.
Damn that's ugly.
Have you checked out the similar Benchmade SOCP?
Love your videos and reviews. You are awesome! Keep up the good work.
Thinking of throat inner leg etc? Or any body part
I have to ask...did you cut your left thumb with that knife? I saw the band-aid and was wondering.
Lol. I don't intend for people to purchase everything I review! Often I'm just giving a closer look at different gear I have that others may not have seen or have access to. I actually own a TDI LE knife that I prefer for every day carry and that would be much more affordable for your wife and daughter. :)
I love this design, but nobody seems offers it for a reasonable price. Have you seen any in the normal people price range?
Would it fit in my Benchmade sheath?
I hate the knife but like the review. Good job as always.
I see a bandaide on your left hand...Is that from this blade?
the push dagger grip looks really unstable, can you test it on a dummy to see if it would actually work?
The ring man, the ring.
Great Video... I really like the knife, but as Mike Jones said, the price is a little hard to swallow.
to all of you. that much 154 cm is worth the price. the benchmade is 440c...
Cool...always like your review videos.
By the way, I subscribe to your channel, I assume your channel name comes from your Westy days, do you miss your Westy? I stay in my camper van for long trips around the country. When I retire I am so going full-time. Keep up your good work.
damn im glad i live in minnesota, even if there are laws against different blade types, no one seems to mind. as long as you aren't misusing it of course. cops have seen various knives i have kept in my car, supposedly over the legal length, they just do not mind. They are too busy with all the gang activity at the bars i guess :[
oh,no! you sold the westy. T.T
so less traveling around for you nowadays? i still want one one of these days.
Cool knife and great vid!
Nice review, don't like knives with ring holes, can anyone say finger snap.
Soooo SOCP?
