    After owning an XC hardtail for a while now, I'm torn between an FS or a HT for an all-mountain bike. It would be nice to have the FS for the occasional trip to the DH/Enduro spots, but most the riding I do is Trail-riding. But the HT just seems more functional as an all-around bike. Something I can take XC rides in and still handle the rocky and rooty stuff as you did in this vid. You've inspired me to go with the HT. Thanks for sharing!

    @Bigmike3023 you cant go wrong either way. I recently sold my 26 FS bike to get a Kona Honzo AM Hardtail. Both bikes are awesome and both are tons of fun. The hardtail is better at certain things and the FS is as well. I chose to go back to HT because it's more fun to me and it's a great bike to rip around and is quite playful on the trail. There's almost nothing it can't handle.

    Found my first mountain biker idol! A Japanese mountain biker who rides hardtail and is young (there are plenty of asian mountain bikers that are 30-40+).

    @1:52 I don't think it bothered him that much. I'm sure he was riding the front so the rear can do what it wants and it'll just follow the front wheel.

    Somewhere in BC Canada. Chromag is a Whistler based company so likely Whistler or Squamish.

    Hah, yeah. That was a pretty hairy moment at 1:52 though, when the root knocks his back wheel out and almost sends him into the tree. Yowza.

    so have a very similar bike and it has a 90mm stem, would a 50 or 60mm stem make it better for free ride???

    • @Pablo-kt7cz
      @Pablo-kt7cz 10 лет назад

      i ride a 650b bike quite similar to that one, mine has a 60mm which i found too big for all mountain riding so...

    • @monoperative
      @monoperative 10 лет назад +1

      A long stem brings your weight forward over the front wheel, which is good for climbing, but makes descents like those in the video a very risky proposition. For this sort of riding you need 50-60mm max (depending on your height).
