    Hey bud great riding and glad you enjoyed! I also drove 56 hours to ride the North Shore in 2001, then promptly moved to B’ham to be closer. Eventually got tired of driving to ride so I built most of the trails in this vid over the last 20 years. Sick shreddit! 👊

    • @rippinfreshies782
      @rippinfreshies782  7 месяцев назад +5

      Damn thats an awesome story and really glad you got sick of the driving because a lot of your trails (ones not in this edit too) are some of my favorite trails of all time. On some of the trails I have built, I pulled most if not all, inspiration from them as well. Been dreaming of moving to b’ham since a 14 year old me saw your pinkbike videos and photos! Thinking that day is coming soon!

    I have always believed that people should either A) Own a hardtail or B) Owned a hardtail as their main bike. The simplicity to just enjoy the ride and get out there while also making you a better smoother rider and also make a person appreciate a full-suspension bike.

    • @rippinfreshies782
      @rippinfreshies782  6 месяцев назад +1

      Couldn’t agree more! One of the best decisions i have ever made was to get one again. A lot of things, bikes and beyond, are getting so unnecessarily complex. Its refreshing to have something that always works!

    Justin! Managed to refind this edit, cause it lingered in my head.
    What a great edit, would probably get my vote for edit of the year: you R Skilled, in the snow 😮, in the rain 😮, snowy dh rock slab 😮, wet dh rock slab 😮, soundtrack, hardtail, Chromag!
    I forgive you all the swearing, haha. Hope your shoulder didn’t hurt that long.
    What frame size Stylus do you run actually and what’s your bodyheight?
    Ty sir and keep up the good stuff ✌️

      @@ChrisO-t1v Thanks man! Glad you liked it, I had a ton of fun making it! Shoulder was sore for a week or two after that drop haha, probably should start hitting the gym. I'm 6'3" and run a M/L stylus frame. The three frames that I broke were alloy frames. 2 Stumpjumpers and 1 patrol. Hopefully coming out with more videos soon!

    So here's what I take from this: I dont race enduro, likely never will. A hardtail like this is all I'd ever need and skills will just acrue over time.
    Even if the North East is a little rootier, a Stylus and time are all I need to improve and have a good time.

    I'm all for the views, but the fact that the in crowd gets to know these locations is totally unfair

    • @rippinfreshies782
      @rippinfreshies782  6 месяцев назад +4

      I dont necessarily disagree with you. Very lucky to be have buddys that are connected to know this stuff for me. With that said it wasnt always that way for certain. My thought was always if you dont know where things are, create your own. Definitely have spent equal if not more time on the hickory backhoe as behind handle bars. That has got me connected to the right people more than riding an actual bike has. Quite literally sending this from a dig pit of current project! Build the vision buddy! Got to give to get!

    • @dman5703
      @dman5703 6 месяцев назад

      You can build in Washington state with out permission and if you get caught you get some hefty fines. That's is something I cant do

    • @rippinfreshies782
      @rippinfreshies782  6 месяцев назад +4

      Definitely, but if you arent willing to take that risk, then why should someone else? And then further than that reap the rewards of their labor and risk they took. Someone at some point took a ton of their time, energy, money, and the risk to build these beauties. If you arent actively doing the same to give back to that community that gave to you, why should you receive anything? Wouldnt that be unfair?

  • @gweflj

    Very impressive. As a 50yo guy, I advise never ride a hardtail again. They fuck your ankles.

      I might just have to deal with the consequences later, they are too damn fun haha I do try to stay up on keeping body healthy but not as much as I should so I will take this as a reminder to do that!

      @@rippinfreshies782 It's the high frequency impacts on the ankles. We're just not designed to absorb it.
