    We enjoyed your video on this gate. My husband and I have been racking our brains on how to fix ours. Great idea!

    Thanks for the video.. so the gate isn’t on any tracks that’s attached to the fence railing? It just slides in and out? How’s it holding up? I’m getting ready to build a similar one.

      Hi Andre! We sold the house and moved about a year later but it was still holding up strong. The only "track" is the one just above the rolling gate. It just rolls one the wheels. Hope that answered your questions. Best of luck with your gate! God's blessings to you.

    When the gate is closed what keeps it stable from twisting out when leaning on it?

    • @diyamerican
      @diyamerican  2 года назад

      if I remember correctly I think it went slightly past the corner pillar on the porch which helped hold it in place but either way I would not lean on the sliding gate! It's not meant to be very strong. the stable half though was plenty strong to lean on. God bless!

    As soon as I seen the mountains in the background I knew it was Oregon 😆 Where at in Oregon are you located? We are in the Santiam Canyon! Love this deck gate idea my husband and I just put up our deck railing and need to build these gates to keep our 2 small dogs on the deck and away from chicken hawks and coyotes or whatever else may be lurking beyond the house lol.

      Hi Melissa! Good eye on recognizing your state and thanks for enjoying our video! 😁 If you want to know where exactly we are located You have to watch this other video from our other channel. It's all about our hometown. 😁😎😜 Also make sure to leave a comment on it so I know that you watched it! By the way, if you are a Biden supporter then I apologize ahead of time. 😂 ruclips.net/video/knoDORfm-H4/видео.html

    How big of a gap did you close with this? I have a 9 1/2 opening.. This is the only solution we can think of at the moment.

    • @diyamerican
      @diyamerican  4 года назад

      My gap was about 12 1/2 feet. Thanks for watching! Have a blessed day!

    Can I ask where you got the gate hardware and the balusters?

    • @diyamerican
      @diyamerican  4 года назад

      I got the balusters in this video from a dude on Craigslist, but I ended up doing my whole front porch and had to order some online, I can't recall the website. They are a bit spendy but they look very nice! The gate hardware was from Lowe's. I spray painted it black. It was originally just a stainless steel type color. Thanks for watching, Andrew!
