wow! super emotional to listen to. sope1 was the homie for real. we lived together for a couple ofyears back in the day. we were co workers as well. sope came out to nyc to stay with me right before he passed. his passing has always been a blank spot. giant described the uneasiness perfectly, never got over it never will. that was my nigga fo sho. much love rip sope1 big willy style fa life
What rad interview Mike Giant is a huge inspiration. One of my favorite writers. I love the all black sharpie illustration art he does. Talented artist.
I walked into a skate shop in SF years ago now and saw a deck on the wall that just captivated me. It was a Mike Giant designed deck in that amazing black and white city/character scene. After finding out his name I started looking into his work and legacy. Been a fan ever since then and this podcast just reinforces it more. Mike is super talented and his style is so unique.
So many good memories of trips to the Bay in the 90’s and seeing all the Twist Felon and Giant pieces everywhere. So many good memories. Stay up. Too many toys not enough recess.
Right on for these great interviews man ! Itd be cool when you got writers , artists , musicians on to show on screen what it is they’re talking about . Woulda been cool to see all the dope pieces on screen that Mike mentioned .
So nice to get to know a little bit of his history, such an inspiring person. I grow up seeing his graffiti even from very far, here in São Paulo-Brasil
Thank you. The both of you. The part about shepard got me tripping the story on how KIDS 4DC DAC took him down at his own art show. Kids was not a violent or macho dude. I’m laughing to myself right now thinking about it. RIP Anthony
