As a proud Floorfunder of course I supported this project. In fact it is a celebration of her career since 1997. In this concert Floor sings with the Marcel Fisser Band from Beste Zangers. All her bands (After Forever/Revamp/Nightwish) and side-projects (Northward/Beste Zangers) are featured together with some covers she made on her RUclips channel and Henk Poort will join her also in some songs. She probably started with Ever Dream because She and the fans only could dream of live performances for so long. You can see it on her face throughout the song. Indeed Every week the concert will be published on RUclips piece by piece.
been to all 3 concerts in Amsterdam :) It has been 3 wonderful days in Amsterdam :) A big shout out to the Marcel Fisser Band. The long journey from Bavaria/Germany was worth it, spend 11 hours per ride in the Bus ^^ BTW, Everdream is a Tarja song.
Floors husband Hannes was doing filming and working behind the scene. He made the behind the scene docu. We met him while he was shooting the waiting audience in front of the venue ^^
In an interview Floor said this song is the most challenging for her, so high all the time... You must watch the Wacken 2013 version with Nightwish... The energy blows the ceiling away...
I've heard her sing songs that are consistently higher. I'm assuming it's hard because of the style she sings it in with all the belting.
Storytime is the hardest song for her. Ever dream second.

You should listen to the Wacken version of this to see how much more powerful the Nightwish version is. I think Floor deliberately calmed this version down, after all many in the audience had come to her via Beste Zangers and were not necessarily Nightwish fans, so she is playing to them all rather than one group of fans. Loved your reaction as always.
Ever Dream is one of the big hits from Nightwish 4th album Century Child released in 2002 with Tarja Turunen as vocalist and first album with Marko Hietala as their bassist and male singer. In the original, Marko was singing the "Dream of me" parts after the chorus. In live shows he also used to sing in a duet the last chorus with Tarja and later on Anette but stepped down when Floor joined by singing only "Dream of me". Floor took over these parts since Marko's departure. Century Child was the last album with their original label and the first one to incorporate more actual orchestra into the music, Tarja lyrical style started to be less used also. It's the transitionnal album between the more power metal sound of their first three albums and their current soundtrack-like sound. Century Child is also the first "dark" Nightwish album where Tuomas vented out some emotionnal turmoil that the band growing success had brought during the previous tour with the change from their first bassist Sami Vanska to Marko among other things.
Just chiming in to say that this is a very good summary of the place this song has in the band's discography. Century Child was indeed very much a watershed album between the straightforward old style and the much more grandiose sound that the band *really* nailed with the following album, "Once".
Personally I never cared for this particular song a whole lot, until I heard the live version with Floor and she just sort of brought it to life.
This rendition of the song is pretty faithful to the original, just quite a bit stripped down instrument-wise, and not as... let's say "vivacious".
You must see Sabaton with Christmas truce, at the end is Floor singing, so beautiful . The blond guy is Hannes (husband Floor)

The band also did the Beste Zangers series. Floor really loved working with them and asked them to join her on her solo shows!
The metal sound was new to them and a bit of a challenge but they now really enjoy playing with her. Her husband was there to film the behind the scenes documentary. He did not play the drums.
And yes she lives in Sweden 🇸🇪
I was lucky to see the 2nd show. My 1st time seeing her live and it blew me away. It was magical. I’ll never forget it ❤️ didn’t have to think twice to become a Floorfunder to have this recorded!

I was one of the people who funded the recording. I didn't have to think one second when Floor sent out the message asking if we would help her fund it. These shows (In the end, there were 13 in total) all were in The Netherlands and many of her fans abroad weren't able to see them. (Though many still flew/drove in from all over.) It's so great to know all Floor's fans will be able to enjoy the show with us when it has been released! I myself have attended 5 of the shows, including this one (I am such a fanboy). The show is great, you'll see!

I was honored to help fund the recording of the concert. (It was the recording that was "Floorfunded", of course and not the concert itself). There is a behind the scenes special that was funded along with the concert video as we exceeded the initial funding goal. Floor is being backed by Marcel Fisser and members of his band as has been the case ever since she began doing her solo shows after collaborating with them on Beste Zangers. The Marcel Fisser band being the Beste Zangers house band.
That's not her husband. If you wanna see him, you can check out Sabaton - Christmas Truce (official music video). Hannes has a pretty big part on the video and Floor does the ending credit vocals and all of it is just glorious. Great, touching song and very appropriate for the time of the year. But definitely check out the background story on that one if you're not familiar on European war history or the band. The song/video is about war so just a heads up in case that's not for you. It is tastefully done though.
Only suggesting because I also need my daily dose of fangirling over Floor, it's kind of nice to not be alone in this 😅 Thank you for another enthusiastic and informative reaction, made my day!

Well now you have to do Everdream live at wacken ....she says its the most difficult song for her to sing from the Nightwish catalog ....but she knocks it out of The Wacken Arena

Ever Dream was an original song made with Tarja way back, so it's a Nightwish classic. The live version with Floor at the 2013 Wacken festival was incredible - please watch that one! This one is way more subdued. Any Nightwish songs she does at her solos are way more stripped back.
You should check the ORIGINAL as well,still my favourite Nightwish's song alongside Romanticide,the song actually tailored made for Tarja
In this version of Everdream she did also the part that Marko did with Nightwish. You are correct she lives in Sweden and No it's not Hannes her husband who is playing the drums

Words do Floor no justice. There just aren't any to describe the depth, beauty, energy or authenticity of our Valkyrie Queen!!!! The band does a wonderful job and as always Floor leaves me in tears!!!!!
I can tell you this concert was so good and so much fun.
One of the things I like about the Wacken performance of this song is how well Marco's back up vocals are so spot on. Surprising what a voice he has. Hopefully you'll visit this for yourself to see what I mean. She's wonderful isn't she. Two performers the past two years of captured my attention, neither are alike but both have such great control. (the other performer is Diana Ankudinova).

The drummer in this video is the drummer for the Marcel FIsser Band (the band from Beste Zangers that accompanied everyone). Hannes Van Dahl is Floor's husband and he is the drummer for Sabaton.

Ever Dream is one of my favorite Nightwish song's. Originally sung by Tarja, Floor's version at Waken 2013 is just gorgeous and impressive. Tarja's version of the song (End of an Era) is equally beautiful. I highly recommend a reaction where you look at both. You won't be disappointed.

Amazed you haven't heard the original. It's one of their most popular. Several comments below recommend the Wacken version and I concur. You get the bonus of Marko's incredible vocals.
Her use of rubato is great too - the band doesnt match it but somehow they still end up together at the end of phrases .
As to vibrato, Floor is fortunately much more able to vary her vibrato than Tarja was. You'll notice she often sings a tone straight for almost there time long note and then injects just the right amount of vibrato for a portion of the note at the end. Its carefully and tastefully done to give the level of emotion she wants to add.

I was so lucky to be on that concert and i can only find one word on it. EPIC !! I have been her also on the tour before covid at Tilburg 013 but this concert was so good. And also Henk was there.

I noticed in the lyrics that Floor changed the word "lust" to "love" for this version. I think it softened the tone of the song as well. It is a beautiful performance.
"Ever Dream" If any song of Nightwish repertoir fits into this kind of a 'smaller' production.
No need for big orchestral sound, no backing vocals by Marko Hietala(parts 'Dream of Meeee!') and little lighter sound-wise(band & Floor) but still the whole combination works.
And what a wonderful gesture from Nightwish to let her perform and record the song. 🥰

I admire your respect and appreciation of Floors vocal talent. Recognising how much work she must do to maintain her vocal chords as a professional singer. Floor’s stage performance, engaging her audience, master of emotions and how she is able to build a song, tell the story and take us on a musical journey.
I enjoyed how you showed the vocals at the beginning of the song and where they built to at the end with a little bit of Floor “grit” (which is “new” compared to the Wacken 2013 performance that we all know and love but I like this little inclusion!) - The perfect edit Christi!
Hi Christi How are you. I got up at 6am to watch it. She looks and sounds beautiful. I start work at 7am everyday but the weekends. I helped with the crowd funding and my name got put on. FYI Marko has 2 new videos that have been out since the en of November. There is a video of Floor having a hiccup in singing. The sing is from Nightwish Oslo Concert and the song is Dark Chestvof Wonder last month. She even does the duh sign.
I caught on to Floor in Star One when she was just starting. Her voice cut through everything then as well.

Very astute to recognize a different “feel” than how Nightwish would do it. I HIGHLY suggest you listen to the Wacken version. Floor vocal insanity at its best!! Floor belongs on stage. Nightwish have just postponed the gig I was due to experience at Wembley Stadium in the UK, so I’ll have to wait 11 months to (hopefully) see them. And I still can’t wait because the group are great, and her voice just gets better and better.

Oh yes....... I was at that concert in Amsterdam on Sept. 3rd. My co-worker who would have come with me got sick, so I went there on my own. (only a 40 minutes drive to Amsterdam) I was very nervous but had the time of my life. Too bad the Nightwish concerts are postponed till nov. 2022 , so I have to be a little patient till next year. She is really insanely good.

This version is a little more , i dont want to say stripped back but not as heavy as she does with Nightwish .....where she goes full on Floor .
Now we have 2 unreal live versions of the song Ever Dream with Floor , in Nightwish there are unreal powerful belting notes and a powerful music, the solo version of Floor is a little lighter and more melodic, more color in Floor voice than in wacken, she uses mixed beautiful,soft, melodic notes, some places have powerful belting notes, notes Marco, Floor sings in such a way that the notes are lightly and gently hover, it's very beautiful, in both versions, Floor is divine.

You really should react to the version from the Wacken 2013 show, it's one of the most phenomenal belting exhibitions you will ever witness. She sounds like Captain Kirk's phaser gun at times there.
It's an excellent version and I love how she chose to do what is normally a vocal part by Marko on the Nightwish versions, which I'm guessing will be Troy with Marko no longer with the band and how they've adjusted other songs like Planet Hell. thank you for the reaction!

Try comparing this performance with the 2013 Wacken version. This is more sedate and, of course, without Marko’s backing vocals. I think you’ll really enjoy it and I can imagine it will be something we all would love to see you react to.

This is a recording of her solo concert with the band from Beste Zangers, that was crowdfunded by fans like me. Apparently she will release it song by song on RUclips and from the thank yous I saw, there will be duos with Henk Poort and her sister Irene(I am guessing on this one, but her sister living in the area, would make sense).

"Everdream" was first recorded with Tarja from their 4th studio album. There is a live performance of this song by Floor from Wacken Festival also. With this solo performance you are missing Marko adding in his parts vocally.
Floor is singing both her part and Marco's part of the song. The guitar player with the red guitar looks like the guitar player from the Beste Zangers band. I know the BZ band accompanied Henk Poort and Floor on their mini tour in early 2021.

Floor is as excellent as always in this performance, made even more impressive by the fact that she sings Marco's parts as well, because this performance is without the rest of the nightwish band, she has her band here (and no backing track).
I have to say that the Wacken 2013 version is better because it has the whole group involved but this version demonstrates her ability to sing for two, and still be better than any other singer
Ever Dream is the lead single from the fourth studio album Century Child (released in 2002). The original singer of the song is Tarja Turunen.
The concert was cut in 3 shows ( covid) 3 days 1 show) the last show was recorded. The sold out show ( 6500 tickets) had too be cut in 3 shows. 3x 2500 tickets. I was at all 3 shows and she was fantastic
You certainly have to watch the Wacken 2013 version, the energy is way higher, the audience is crazy, as you remember :), the band is of course somewhere else too, it´s their own song, so they "live" through the song, and of course there is Marco, who beautifully sings "Dream of meeeee" in chorus in addition to Floor. :)

Yet it wasn't necessary for the concert to be crowdfunded (AFAS Arena was sold out by people from near and far) but its recording by a professional team .
Did you already notice that there are new cities on the list at their U.S. tour next May? All smaller and more intimate locations than in Europe. So it's easy to get over that they will travel without their big pyro production. Those are bond to several lorries and will supply their gigs in the biggest venues, Europe has to offer....
A double viewing / listening session now required - Everdream at Wacken 2013 with Floor and also Tarja at the End of an Era Show ( her last show with Nightwish but she DID NOT KNOW that - Watch the heartfelt emotion from Tuomas 😢).
Ever dream at Wacken 2013 with Nightwish is the go to version of this one. This one is toned down a bit, but still wonderful. The fact that she does this pretty much solo is testament to her skill. The sustained belting towards the end is just out of this world.
Hi Christi, love your reaction. To answer one of your first questions, I was there at one of the three shows and I also was happy to make a small contribution to this crowdfunding in Februari 2020. The goal set for the crowdfunding was reached within 3 hours after it opened, and eventually reached 152%. Therefore also a behind the scenes documentary could be made, which was partly filmed by Hannes, her husband (he was not the drummer BTW). The crowdfunders have already seen this backstage documentary, it will be available to all with the release of the full show after all songs have been released in the weeks to come. Everybody who contributed is also mentioned in the credits of the documentary.
This concert was mainly aimed at the new audience that she gained after her performances in Beste Zangers. Those people did not know Floor before Beste Zangers so Floor put up a setlist which contains material from throughout her whole carreer, from After Forever, Revamp, Northward, Beste Zangers and of course Nightwish. Look at it as a crash course Floor Jansen and an introduction into Metal music for the new fans. Since fans from all over the globe were not able to attend the short tour that she did in The Netherlands, she started a crowd funding campaign to raise the funds to have the last show (which was the biggest of all with 6000 people in the audience) professionally recorded. However the last show was postponed several times due to the pandemic. The recorded show will be made freely available on public streaming media. Since the material is edited on a song by song basis and the whole show has already been delayed for such a long time, Floor felt she could not let the fans wait any longer, so she now releases the edited material on a song by song basis, and this is the first one. In the end the whole show will be released as a whole.
One thing this performance really shows is Floor's ability to effectively transpose her vocal arrangements for songs to different settings and styles while preserving their internal dynamic range. She's a couple of dynamic markings softer at every point in this performance than she is when she performs this song with Nightwish, so it will be interesting for you to keep this version in mind when you do Wacken 2013.

Floor is an incredible frontman.. front person? And of the 3 vocalists that Nightwish has had she’s really the only one who i would consider as fitting the term. All 3 were very gifted singers but Floor has a HUGE presence, she holds space even across the biggest stage, and has even the largest audience in the palm of her hand.
The segments that you noted where she sounds much more intense are sections that Marko sang originally.

That's true, Floor does make a lot of personal touches even to Nightwish songs and it is always an interesting addition. The ending of Ghost Love Score is a notable example. Ever Dream is a difficult song made even more difficult as she sings the parts of two people here. Marko had a memorable role on this song with Nightwish. It would still seem a totally different experience if you were to decide to react to, say the Wacken 2013 version. 😊
You have to listen to Tarja singing it, as well as the Wacken performance. Tarja has such a different tonal quality.
Re: postponements. I should have seen Nightwish last December, then it was last May, then it was last month, now it's next November, nearly three years after I first bought the tickets. Wearing, indeed...
Yes, I‘m waiting patiently too. And I bought a ticket for the Wacken Bullhead City Festival in September. Cancelled 😡 That cancellation gave me the opportunity to buy a WOA ticket for 2022, but without Nightwish. Someday…..

It is funny that Christi noticed without knowing the original version that the song had to be modified they had to lower the intensity because in the version of Wacken 2013 Floor seen to suffer a lot with the song
