    Hi Jose, thanks for sharing the experience! I believe the first propeller is a bit too heavy for the engine, since it doesn’t let him reach max rpm. Don’t you think you could run into excessive wear or other engine issues? BTW changing the prop on the fly was heroic!

      I considered that, I think 5800 rpm is decent enough and shouldn't put too much of a load on the engine as it is somewhat close to it's max rpm. I did research it and Yamaha's full throttle range listed in the owners manual is 5300-6300 rpm. Presumably anything inside that range is acceptable. One last thought, the power band shows 5800 rpm as being 70hp, I thought that was a nice clue to pick that one lol

    Any idea how the PwrTech SCD3 prop compares? I see a lot about that one.

      The guy that runs FasseCo Whaler restoration swears by the SCD3 props. And the PT owner Steven is very helpful. Will be buying one from him soon.
