The reason a lot of people like traditional fireworks is that the "boom" they produce simulates the sounds of war, which on July 4 reminds them of America's victory over Cornwallis and the redcoats in the Revolutionary War. I am somewhat sympathetic to that, even though I feel that these high-tech light shows will eventually replace fireworks.
This would be great for evening shows at amusement parks like disney or universal. 1) less costly 2) less noise for people living around park 3) 20min show is all they need 4) can bring their characters/franchises come to live

They can do things drones can't. Can drones crackle? No. Can drones be fan shaped? No. Can fireworks crackle? Yes. Can fireworks be fan shaped? Yes. How much do drones cost? Possibly tens of thousands of dollars for 1 drone. How much do fireworks cost? The cheapest ones that shoot up in the air come in packs of 10 and are 25 bucks a pack. Just some examples.
The loud booms of fireworks is also why people hate them. They freak out the pets for miles and idiots here in the US set them off at all hours for days and days. Drones are much better in my opinion.
I agree also, I am in a far out suburb, almost in the country side, and people let off fireworks here also on special day all the way upto 2am or more and annoys the fuck out of me and scare the cats.

I used to live in a suburban area with a lot of morons that set off fireworks. They were just setting their money on fire. The professional fireworks displays are impressive but the ones people set off in their driveway are not.

I got to see an Intel drone show with thousands of drones and it was one of the most incredible man-made shows I have witnessed, but the way this video focuses on the "downsides" of fireworks makes me concerned that Firefly may try to become a firework replacement though lobbying and legislation, which is total horse shit. Let the market decide if you have come up with a firework replacement or not. Focus on your own strengths, not your perceived weaknesses of a product that has been celebrated and enjoyed for OVER A THOUSAND YEARS.
I saw the intel drone show too at the olympics I think it was, I approached Intel and asked them 2 years ago could I do a story on them, and they declined. Also you have to talk about some negatives of a competing product to highlight the positives of another, that is simple selling.

I would love to see these replace fireworks.. every year after the assorted fireworks event throughout the year I find dead birds in my garden .. The poor things become terrified by them and fly out of the trees ,but it is night time and they can not see where they are going and dash themselves on branches . My friends horses ,even though she keeps in the stables at night, still panic and twice have needed stitching up,one of her arabs reared up in the stable and hit is head ,fell over and in the fall broke his neck. It would not be so bad if if was limited to the single tradition days for each special occasion ,but it goes on for weeks. folks also le them of for birthdays etc..so they can not be planned for if you are trying to keep pets or horses safe. I know drones are unlikely to replace them them, however limits should be imposed on what and when they can be used.

Some people will mistake these drones for ufos, but there are sightings out there of objects in the sky which quite obviously are not drones. Drones do not move at the speeds some of these objects have been seen travelling at, neither are they capable of making sudden, extreme maneuvres.

The very idea that these will replace fireworks is utter nonsense. People en masse won't be able to buy these and many still set off their own fireworks. I doubt it's affordable to rent for the 50th anniversary party. Combined, at big venues, maybe. If their light shows can't make their own point, that they're spectacular, without replacing something we've loved forever then it's a failure on the part of the company programming them. This vid says nothing about the statistical danger, pros, cons, etc. This isn't even a fun light show drone commercial. It's introductory at best but these have long since been introduced. For a 2021 video, it's not very showy, fun, educational, or challenging to what currently exists. Waste of time hiring this advertiser.

The very idea that these will replace fireworks is utter nonsense. People en masse won't be able to buy these and many still set off their own fireworks. I doubt it's affordable to rent for the 50th anniversary party. Combined, at big venues, maybe. If their light shows can't make their own point, that they're spectacular, without replacing something we've loved forever then it's a failure on the part of the company programming them. This vid says nothing about the statistical danger, pros, cons, etc. This isn't even a fun light show drone commercial. It's introductory at best but these have long since been introduced. For a 2021 video, it's not very showy, fun, educational, or challenging to what currently exists. Waste of time hiring this advertiser.
In a lot of places people can't buy fireworks because of local laws so it makes no difference

Wonderful, but good can always be used for evil if in wrong hands, and good job most birds don’t fly at night. Between the windmills, now these drones, i guess even more birds will be killed.
Boring without the explosion part
Many people who have drones and have been following drone stories for years...did not see "this" use of drones coming until this week July 1, 2022. Lightshows using hundreds of drones. The death of the fireworks industry overnite? We have constantly seen the stories about micro drones for security and surveillance. So...the question now is.....whats the next use of smallish drones?
The batteries are getting better all the time. Pretty soon, their charges will be able to last several hours instead of just 20 minutes.
