After filming "the King of Shaves" a few episodes back - I had to order the Rockstar from Proboat - I was bitten by the bug of RC GAS POWERED BOATS! The boat cost me $1350 (cad) to my door - but certainly was worth it! Everett soon had to order one when he found out I got one.. and now we both received our boats at the same time! Well - what better an opportunity for us to unbox them for you here on RUclips, so you to can be tempted into this awesome hobby. Granted.. you need a BiG lake to run these..
After the unboxing - we decide to take you guys along for the maiden voyages with us! Unboxing and maiden all in 1 video.. it truly gives you a first hand look at how our first day went with these machines. Everetts was having some trouble.. as the throttle linkage collar and and screw fell apart mid run.. we believe it had to do with vibration, but it was soon dealt with! My boat was running awesome.. and was a lot of fun to blast across the water with. Engine break-in takes a few tanks of fuel .. and we should see these boats really PEP UP!

Ringed Motors don't need to be broke in like a NITRO MOTOR. These are not nitros.
That entire BREAK IN crap on a gasser is pure myth.
To seat the ring you need High Cylinder pressures to push the ring and keep it pushed against the cylinder walls.
if you run them slow, they will unevenly wear in the rings and walls, and you'll get blowby Early in a gas motors life.
Fire them up, get them slightly tuned, the run them up to WOT. Just don't hold them wide open for the first tank for more than 10 to 20 seconds. once that first tank is out. Pin it to win it.

Haha loved the ending with Jem and Mac. I am also excited your getting more into boats...i give it 6 weeks before the 5th scale boss talks you into an or widow maker or something of that nature! Great video as always, can't wait for the next running of these things. To make a simple course, take some tennis balls attached to a good length of rope and a brick or some other weight on the other end and paint a few of the balls red and throw them around into your pond. And green balls you pass on the left and red on the right.

I just picked up a rockstar yesterday and I was wondering if you noticed that it seems to lean to the starboard side when in the water...atleast mine does. I think its because the gas tank and the weight on that side.
You need a tubrine maybe a wrenn 44 to beat that there competition!

Like the old saying bigger is better lolllllll, I’m not saying that it’s ugly but personally I preferred the traxxas M41 maybe it’s 7 inch shorter but .....
I know I’m one off the few but I love the pinks and Miami vice striped design also it’s way more beautiful to have the open cab where we see the seats,dash and every little details and also I’m totally pass to the dark side and now preferred by far batteries instead of nitro
I found themes cool anyway but if I need to make a choice I would go with the M41 👍👍👍

Get rid of the standard installed battery and servo housing and install a watertight housing. One flip and submerge and the receiver ect is toast....and after spending a grand...it doesn't even have a water pump installed
that is so sad you had an issue like that! I was the one who did the "Dual Rockstars Racing"... on the lake, from the full size Jetboat. I flipped several times that day.. never ruined anything. Those receivers are waterproof.... and you can not have a water tight housing. The Engine is cooled by air and oil. Thats why you have an intake on the housing
@@TheRealRCSparks my friend put his brand new boat in lake, after a couple of laps he flipped it, the hull interior capacity is so large it filled up quickly with water. No servo is truly waterproof, it fried his servos. Anyways the engine is actually water cooled, you cannot rely on air to cool the jacket! Doing so you are going to burn your seals and gaskets and heat seize your motor.

My local shop has one for $1,000. I've been looking at it, but my wife wasn't happy when I came home with a Losi 5ive T, and then bought a $415 OBR 30.5cc motor for it, lol. The employee keeps telling me, don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness.

with gas powered rc's why couldn't you have like a very small alternator that can output enough amperage to power the servos and all the other things?
You still would need a battery,so might as well just have the battery only and save on the complexities and weight of adding an alternator.

I leave in South Florida,and 1000 yard from my building...> a big lake.So I decided to get this "rockstar" pro-boat.Not cheap,but I was very ....To make the long story...short,in five days,I went back to hobby store six times for different "malfunctioning" issues.So,I give up and RETURN the ...rockstar.End of story.My bad luck ? Hm.There is not to many reviews out there about this boat,so ...good luck

You shouldn't yank on the pullstart like that Medic, look at how Everett is doing it. You'll break them if you keep yanking on them like that.

More gas stuff I grew up with gas rc I know everyone wants electric now a days but when I was a kid gas nitro was in do some of this please.

I have the atomik barbwire and I love it cost around $150 25+mph and self flipping if it flipped over and also 10 mins of driving for the battery you get

These guys are more into "SALES ADVERTISEMENT", rather than running. Also, ANYTHING running appears to be fast a Surface or ground level!!! A 1/4 of this Video should of been for those that fine unboxing exciting ....another 1/4 on break in. and the remaining on actually RUNNING the Boat. Based on what I saw, it appeared they didn't want people to see then RUN hard, maybe not so impressive. I see some like your AWESOME VIDEOS, I prefer AWESOME FAST BOATS myself.... so maybe I missed the point, that is more about the VIDEO rather than the BOATS !
