Hey dude. Boosted boards is shutting down. We need you to teach more people this method so we can keep our boards going. Any chance you could also help us crack their proprietary battery management system code?
not sure if you saw but theres an easy-ish way to reset the RLOD without sending your battery in or soldering, its a video uploaded by user NomadNed, go take a look....shorting 2 pins on the bms circuit will trip it to reset.
This repairing tutor vedio is so detailed and professional, after watching I got deeper knowing of my boosted board and its motor. But there’s not a “factory” for me to DIY.
Very simple tutorial! I will just do this each time my motor gets loose. just kidding, I'm not trying to be toxic. Too bad I wont find anyone like you here in Barcelona when my Boosted breaks 😭
Im pretty sure he even said the bad bearing is what caused the rod to get smaller. The bearing was busted up, so did not spin freely and thus made the rod smaller in diameter. Source: ruclips.net/video/tcegApIP000/видео.html So he cleared it up alright, the bearing causes the issue of the rod getting smaller.

I have three boosted mini x with 6 messed up motors with this problem, I don’t have the time or equipment to fix this myself, who can I pay to have my motors fixed in this fashion ? I’ll pay for labor parts and shipping cost
Hi man! Are you able to fix the motors? Would love to pay for your service - I have a 3 of those that would require repair ! Can I reach out to you somehow?
Sorry, making those shafts took me a pretty long time and machining is not really my thing. It was ‘just’ a project. I stopped riding and think about selling everything. I’ve read on reddit that there is someone fixing motors commercially.
I used several types. These where steel rods, not alluminium. Most of them I bought on Aliexpress. Some where chrome-plated and had a very nice finish. Normally the rods where sold as 3d printer parts
IPAS PROJECTS after your shaft replacement did you find to last longer than BB shafts? Under replacing procedure you have used set on new bearings as we’ll correct? I’m concerned about boosted service now Days and trying to prepare for that common issue. Even was trying find aftermarket motors but no luck i guess probably would be possible if we had some schematics for wiring.
On an expensive board like this! All this motors shit storm issue was on Low quality bearing, boosted seriously.... An excellent experience is to unmount the motor of a booosted V2 "the motor with a black shiny paint", comparing the Bearing beetwen the 2 motors
Or I can spend $100 for someone to do this for me. It’s gonna cost me thousands for any of those tools. Lathes aren’t cheap, but someone doing it for me and applying methods to prevent this (better materials) is. :D
Man you should make a bunch of these shafts and sell them on ebay!
Please do!!!
I’ll buy one and do it myself at home, I don’t have those CNC machines but I have a vice grip
I know a guy who makes these shafts...
Seth Mottahedeh I know the guy who makes the shafts @newyorkdiver
Barney Villalona can you give me his contact info

Fantastic video! An excellent exposé of the true problem and a brilliant tutorial method in your solution. Thank you so much!
That was a lot of work dude. I wish I can do that for my motors.
I think I would have attempted to shim the shaft before turning a whole new one. The trick with the copper wire is a new one for me. Nice

Aliexpress. Search for 3m pulleys.
how have they held up ?
Excellent video, i don't have this problem but it was very informative. Boosted boards are the best.
