Let it be known, while I got into Pokémon YCG to play with my son…… you are the only reason it became a hobby 💕. Fantastic video series and helped me a bunch.
Your awesome!
You're an awesome parent.... I wish my parents played pokemon with me when I was a little kid. You're so awesome!
great work on this series!
Oh snap! Thank you!! It's really cool to see larger creators on the platform wanting to get into playing the Pokémon TCG. I love your vids!
oh shit it’s Jarvis
:o fancy seeing you here
As a 90's kid living through Poke-mania I never got into the cards at all. Now my 10 year old son was gifted a bag of Poke cards and after watching your video feel ready to take the plunge. I thank you for the fun times I will be having playing this card game at home with the kids. 😀
watching this in 2023 and i just want to thank you for the amazing content! you've gotten me back into pokemon tcg and i've recently just started playing PTCGO again!
Playing TCGs for 15+ years and just started out with Pokémon TCG. This series is AWESOME! Its the best TCG introduction I have ever seen. And its not just some random clickbait video, as most of the PKM videos i've found.
As someone who is getting my daughters into this fame of my childhood, thank you for this series as it helps me get into the current style of play.
I was confident through part 1 and 2 and now I’m gobsmacked by the amount of information and I’m only at 24 minutes…
Yeah, she kinda goes into a lot of like... Meta stuff you don't really need to worry about, instead of right into the stuff that matters.
She should have separated the video into casual deck building and competitive.
18:10 "you never want to play too many types"
Challenge accepted.
This series made everything TCG less 'overwhelming'!! Thanks sooo much!
Let me know if you have any questions left after watching all 3 videos! I'm happy to help (:
ALSO: I just realized I was using the incorrect graphic of Zacian that didn't include the weakness / resistance OR the ability of "Intrepid sword," So keep that in mind! LOL
I've been collecting for years like so many people but never played...I play a lot of MTG but you inspired me to play Pokémon for the first time. Thanks!
@@PeaTearGriffon Yayy!! Welcome to the game!
I will :) thanks for the entire series!!
My daughter and I really enjoyed these videos. Thank you for making them (and representing Pokemon Ladies)! We understand mostly how to identify cards, but maybe have a short video on identifying the rares? Beyond Rare, Holo Rare, & Reverse Holo Rare... there's Ultra Rare, Alternate Art (Rare), Amazing Rare, Secret (Rainbow) Rare, etc. THANK YOU!
Is reset stamp banned now as of 6/27/2022?
The zacian v deck having all the staple cards 👁 👄 👁
I grew up playing what I now know is called Retro. My daughter has some interest in the cards, reigniting my interest to play. The formats today are DRASTICALLY different. It’s just like getting all the best cards at once in Retro format.
This was an incredible series for making the game accessible again since I knew it had changed. Thanks!
Awesome guide series! Just got into tcg as my daughter shows great interest in pokémon cards. Now we finally can play this together and it really brings the family closer together. My wife is also glad since the kids are off their phones more 😅
Can’t express enough how much this helped with an understanding of the TCG. Appreciate the effort put into this series. Take care!
Such an amazing series, way more than I was expecting! My daughter and I bought two these decks and have been watching your videos to get better. Thanks Bou!!
I've just started playing literally a couple of days ago, and I'm also a new subscriber. These vids have been super helpful, thanks Frosted Caribou!!
You’ve have shown up in my recommended for a few days now (since I started getting back into the TCG) and I should have clicked on your videos much much sooner.
This was amazing and it was extremely informative thank you for all of this. You gained a new subscriber and now to binge this series repeatedly and then watch the rest of your content.
Once again thank you for this series.
Just started collecting a week ago and wanted to play tcg. this is a life saver. thank you
This whole series was so informative! Thanks for taking the time to create the videos!
I've started constructing an Expanded Darkrai deck to be able to play with, there is a game store near me that do leagues and tournaments, I also purchased the trainer toolkit and a Zacian and ADP theme deck to practice with and build off of. I'm excited to be learning to play even if for the most part I just do league stuff because it will be super fun to engage with other people who enjoy Pokemon like I do. These videos are absolutely fantastic and so informative!
Just watched all three in a row I been a yugioh player for 20 years but the game doesn’t seems as fun anymore so I decided to try Pokémon I always collected the cards but never played the game. I actually downloaded the TCG app that you mentioned in part 1 and that along with your 3 part series has really helped hope you have a blessed day!
Saw just the timestamps and this is already the best deck building video online, thank you so much for making something like this!!!
After playing up to Fossil as a kid, now *my* kids want to get into the game. So now I have to relearn the game after 20 years of rules changes. This series has been invaluable, thanks!
I collected as a kid but just started back and am trying learn to play the game. This was so helpful and informative. Thank you so much. Great series
Thank you so much for taking your time and effort to make this fantastic series, it's so helpful and newbie friendly
just downloaded the tcg live, and won my first match with my annihilape vs opponents giratina. thanks for the tips!
This series was great. As a card game veteran I really enjoyed your explanation and especially this video was very insightful for vets to understand a bit more about archetypes and what the game has to offer, if they'd like to give it a try. As a collector I was on the fence, if I'd like to play the game again but here I am clicking through the tutorial and challenges after installing the client xd
Great Series! I recently have been exploring playing Pokemon TCG as I'm so used to just playing on my switch. I found this series very informational thank you! I going to start looking into playing.
Wow! The detail and effort you put into this series is very commendable.
Thank you very much
Great stuff Bou, really enjoyed listening to all 3 of them! Been sharing this to a lot of people and they've said it's been helpful as well. Should be proud of this effort, well worth it! :)
Thank you Bou!! I’m a long time collector (still have my original base, jungle and fossil sets) but never learned to play, but after watching a lot of your videos, and feeling your love of the game, I decided to join the TCGO and I love it!! Now I watched this whole series and found it extremely helpful. You’re a great teacher 😊
This series really got me motivated to play!! I started collecting recently to both collect cards in a binder and collect to play!! I need to get exposed to more cards to decide the kind of deck I really want to build.
thank you so much doing these introducing tcg videos, I just step in the game and have many questions when I try to play it, and you help me solve them, really appreciated
Thank you for this series
I just started playing the online game after you promoting it and this series has been so helpful
I had 23 energy in my deck and my jaw dropped when you said 9-12 energy
This has been an awesome series.! Your explanations were so clear! Thanks so much!
This series was so goooood! Thank you for this! It was so worth the work you put into it!
So I just started getting back into the game a little over a week ago and seeing how many new and different types of pokemon have come out since I was collecting them from the basic, jungle, and fossil Era is overwhelming.
Your in-depth video brings a lot of things into perspective with the new changes. Thank you!
Btw, I tried using my old school deck against my friend's new age one. Did not end well 🤣
Great series. I am not new to Pokémon OR trading card games (MTG for example) and this really helped me. The deck lists were the best part for me I think. Thank you.
It's 1:30am and I just remade all 4 of my decks thanks to the tips in this video!!!
These are the kinds of videos that I have been looking for over the last couple weeks (my 5 year old wanted to learn, so that means that I have to learn (MtG player)). Thanks.
Part 3 video was awesome, Bou, just cool! Because it really help people alot, "how to build a deck in so different way?" The most important thing people take from is you, because you care about Pokemon. Also, other important is people really love your channel alot.
As someone who is totally new to the world of Pokémon and overwhelmed, I am truly appreciative of this video series. I feel like I have an actual grasp on the meat and potatoes of the TCG now. I'm even trading like a boss in PTCGO now!
Would love to see you play some OTCG games with your commentary and thought process. Great job on the 3 parts serie, cheers Bou
Omg I literally love you! I can tell that you are such a sweet and genuine person and the I love that you don’t talk down to us since some of us like myself know literally nothing. You were such an easy sub and I wish you nothing but the best keep up the good work! 💜
Also your doggo is adorable 🐶 🥰
love these! your hard work shows
Thank you for this series. My son (5y) brought some cards and wants to collect and play because his friends a grade ahead are doing the same. For play I was surprised at the simplicity and yet depth of the game system. This series is helping me to set him up while we both learn and have fun together. Thank you.
unbelievably helpful. I just watched the oceania championships and i actually understood what was happening because of these videos.
thanks to you i just made 2 decks for the first time. the first one i made i call the birds and the bees and its a grass/normal type with rowlet's evolutions and beedrill. the second deck i made was just a cute electric type deck that i put my promo pikachu v and eevee v into as well as some more electric and normal types in it. im excited to test them out with my cousin and see how they flow. thank you very much, i cant tell you how appreciative i am of you and your wonderful and wholesome content.
Best video I have found on building decks! Thank you for making such an in depth video on how to play, I’ve learned so much!
Glad it was helpful! ♥️
Thanks for the incredible series, super helpful will begin my TCG journey now!
You are such a great explainer. Your speaking skills is just efficient and clear as glass.
This is a fantastic series! Just getting into PTCG now and learned a ton. Thanks!
You explained every detail very well! im new to this pokemon card game starting to love it.. thanks a lot!
Thank you for making this series! I'm really looking forward to playing and maybe trying a tanky deck out!
Hey Bou! You inspired me to start my own channel and get into the online TCG :) This is so much fun thank you!
Brilliant episode. Early viewing here in the UK. Thanks Bou.
Such an informative series of videos! Thanks for putting in the time and effort to help new players to the TCG!
Great and informative video series! Been collecting pkmn cards for a long time and played PTCGO too, but now I'm looking into the metagame! :)
This was great! Time to step it up from the basic pre constructed decks and find us some fancy cards! Thanks for the words of wisdom!
Love this series. And your font is sooooo good :)
Awesome series! Just dl'd the app and got started! So far its been a ton of fun!
Great series! Glad you did it because now I’m no longer intimidated about jumping into this hobby :) thanks!
Your videos were great. They helped out a lot. I'm glad you broke it down for real
Thank you for a really helpful series. Learnt so much watching these 👍
Thank you for this, definitely has changed my perspective on pokemon tcg. I played competitive MtG and I will definitely be purchasing some of the cards in these deck lists and building a deck of my own.
Thanks for the video series I just started playing after years and it’s very helpful 😊
This series was eye opening. All I have to say is thank you.
This is a brilliant and very helpful series!!
Bou you are a Pokemon powerhouse, thanks so much! Video was 10/10 by the way 🎉
I've been playing MtG forever but I don't get to play in person much anymore and the online version ...sucks... I heard the online version of this was good and so far that seems to hold true. I've been pleasantly surprised! This series has been a big help too
Thank you so much for discussing this and I been recently trying to build a deck and get back to pokemon👍🏽
New to playing Pokemon. This has been really helpful. Thank you! Really like your videos!
Thank you for making these videos! I've been watching them with my partner and we've even started playing together instead of just collecting. I hope you know how much your efforts are appreciated OuO Tell all the pets (especially Mochi) that we say hi and of course Taco too!
This whole series is top notch! Thank you so much.
Awesome thanks.
Alright I feel like a Pokémon master now 😎 honestly great content I feel super informed moving forward. Thanks a ton!

Thank you so much! Definitely gonna try to get into TCG again looks so much fun
THIS WAS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! Thank you!
I can’t wait to start playing. This was incredible. I will be playing solely online only. This was a huge help. I promise to use your 5% with PoTown. Thanks again!
New to the TCG after playing magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. Used to collect the cards as a kid but never learned how to play, thanks for the information!
I am a big fan of the Penny appearances lately!
Thank you for this series! You're awesome!
Amazing series, super helpful!! I can't wait to get back into the PTCGO grind after watching these. Everything I had will be out of rotation, but that's fine. I'm inspired now lol
Build expanded!! That's black and white on! Just make sure you follow the ban list hahaha
great videos! thank you so much, this helped me A LOT to get started
thanks so much for the whole series
I would like to say thank you for the tournament link. Only ever played expanded and played a standard tournament last night and not only lost 5/8 I learned a hell of a lot. Would have never have known about it until this vid.
That's seriously awesome to hear!!! (: Glad I could help
Oooooo i think I just might start playing 💪 great info Bou!!!
Thank you so much for all 3 of these!
Hey Frosty, been watching quite a few of your vids lately and loving the content. Really like this series explaining the TCG. I got into it a little while back and somehow fumbled a deck together (it had Lucario & Melmetal tag) but really only played like 3 or 4 games which I did quite well considering it was my first few games. Will definitely be giving it another go, well once I’ve got something I can play it on. Why no mobile or Switch version to download? Would make the game a lot more accessible to people. Sad times ☹️ but il get in there soon, buy a laptop or something. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
I got back into Pokemon recently after getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh, I find it interesting that you'd reccomend control decks in pkmn for skilled players. I always suggest stun decks for beginners in ygo, but then again you do interact with your opponent much more so it's best to get the hang of that first.
Thanks for posting Frost
You did an amazing job on these. Thank you!
My deck is named “Mind over Matter” it started as a psychic/fighting deck but I realized how little I used the fighting Pokémon so now it’s mainly psychic, I main Alakazam V and Indeedee V. That way I have the option to deal damage if they have more cards in their hands or if you have tons of energy attached. Most of the time, I can knock out Pokémon fast with either Pokémon depending on what my opponents runs. I win a decent amount.
Brand new to this after not playing in 10+ years and this was a great series. Thanks for the effort. Any chance you'll do any deck building tips based on current meta/latest cars releases etc? As we move into 2022 rotations
Thank you for these information videos, I’m learning to play so I can help my sons who want to play not just collect.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your effort and time
Thank you so much! Incredible work
Thanks you so much to do that i dont know anything about tcg pokemon before and now i start playing because of this 3 video and just love it :) in the same way i learn english because i am french haha anyway continue your beautiful work i support you all the way :D
I just picked the game up to play with my daughter. I chose the Palkia precon. As a long time Magic player I understand card advantage, and the biggest challenge for me is Supporter selection. Prof Research is a re-hand, but doing that means I can't accelerate with Melony or Boss an enemy for a kill... so it just feels unproductive, despite drawing a new hand. The limitation on supports also means balancing Irida versus Ultra balls for pokemon fetching. Thank you for making a very simple-yet-detailed video that's also very easy on the eyes ;}
Glad it helped! ♥️
Ohhh muchas gracias!!! now I can play with my son, we also have the pokemon academy we love it, but still was your 3 videoseries sooooooo cool and informativ!!! was a good to have both the pokemon acadamy and your videos!!
