Just discovered this channel, recently bought a Neo but sadly the weather hasn't been great so have just been setting up and looking for tips haha. Guessing 4 Neos though!
Thank you for all the great videos. I believe this is Neo no. 5. Drown the 1st one (likely did a refresh as mentioned 😅) Broke the 2nd one. 3rd and 4th for the comparison video and the 5th to replace the one you lost but eventually found it back the next day. Hope I am right haha 😂.
Yes mostly although if you want to use HDR and avoid excessive exposure change, rather than using auto exposure lock you can simply set your max iso to something low like 200 or 400.
Your video is very interesting! I didn’t know the Neo had the HDR function. Recently, I’ve completely changed my approach to camera settings. I fly with the Mini 2, the Neo, and also the Avata 2. I set the flight to automatic, locking the white balance according to the current light conditions, and I fix the ISO so that it doesn’t exceed 200. This way, the ISO stays between 100 and 200. I always use ND filters and leave the shutter in automatic mode-I find that DJI’s algorithm handles exposure very well. This ensures that my videos are always well-balanced in terms of exposure, even considering that during flights, we often encounter constantly changing lighting conditions. As for the 180° rule, I think it’s only useful when flying close to the ground. Thanks to ND filters, I can still achieve a good motion blur effect, finding a great overall balance. I think you’ve had a total of 5 Neos. Let me know if I’m right! Greetings from Italy!
Yes auto iso with max iso at 200 or 400 works very well for me to. The avata 2 (and most other newer Dji drones) will also enable HDR mode by using auto settings such as auto iso. I will announce the correct answer and winner on the 1st of jan - thanks for the interesting comment
Hello sir thank you for this video. I've been loving my neo so far. I had a question though. Last time i flew i noticed a really small black dot on the middle of the screen and it is mimicing my joystick movements. Any idea what it is ?
Question good sir… do you have an old Mavic pro by chance? I have both Neo and MP1. Is there a difference in the camera? Or is it same just shrunk down?
The reason I ask is I did same kind of settings with my Mavic as what your doing. Learned from Jeven Dovey, and Ed Ricker back then. Good guys… maybe you know them?
@@shawnstone4949 I do watch Jeven and Ed’s content but don’t know them personally - definitely knowledgeable guys. Regarding differences in camera - the biggest disadvantage in my opinion on the Neo camera is the lack of rock axis gimbal so there is a lot of cropping and upscalling required - less so when flying fpv as no roll stabilisation is then required. I used to fly the Mavic air1 a lot back in the day and as far as image quality I’d say the Mavic 1 is possibly still a bit better but it really depends on how you measure it.
@@dronewilder5234 Thanks for getting back to me! I thought I was subbed.. went and checked and I wasn’t! Fixed that….. looking forward to more Neo education for sure! Your videos are great! Well spoken man, with good knowledge. Able to hold interest… I’m in! Thanks for what you do
Unfortunately at the moment these settings are not available when using a phone - really hoping Dji will add full camera control to mobile phones eventually in an update though
Unfortunately full camera settings cannot be controlled with the mobile phone app at the moment. Hopefully Dji will add this through an update sometime. I wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming rumoured Dji flip will allow mobile phone app control too so often we get new features added even for older drones as part of release day updates
im think you have know 4 neo's, and thnx for this information about of this video settings for the dji Neo. Maybe you can make also a video with settings when you fly the Neo with the goggle n3. 🙃
@@marsleiden thanks - the principle of how to set video settings with the goggles is pretty much the same. In particular the slightly negative ev when using auto settings and typically you will fly through changing lighting conditions a lot in fpv typically. Additionally id set max iso to 400
@ I prefer to fly in 4K and with any other drone like the avata 1 and 2 I’d say definitely 4K but with the Neo the difference is a bit less pronounced so if for example you want to film 60fps, 1080p can be an option. I generally stick to 4K and stabilisation using gyroflow.
Tnx for this information, now better wheater then im can try this out outside its stay bad weather outside. Now im practice on the pc to fly fpv on the simulator its also nice. Greats from the netherlands.
I’m going to guess at 5 drones! The kids will be unwrapping the Motion Combo on Weds so really looking forward to it! Only been hidden for over a month now it’s been torture!
Note that lower shutter speeds make life harder for the image stabilisation, and make it more likely that you'll have that kind of "strobing" if you filmed during a windy day (because there will be intermittent motion blur on the image). So if you're filming on a windy day you might be better off using a higher shutter speed, to minimise that (even though it can make motion look a bit less fluid).
That’s very true - I made the same point in my recent flying in bad weather video where I noticed gyro flow can struggle to stabilise slow shutter speed images on windy days
@@dronewilder5234 - So I guess it depends on what you're filming. Flying close to the ground without much wind and really want motion blur = use a slow shutter + ND filter. Flying high or doing slow pans on a windy day = use a faster shutter (and no filter) to improve EIS quality. Speaking of filters, have you tried more than one brand? I've noticed some videos (on other channels) where adding a filter definitely made the image softer, probably because the glass or the coatings weren't very high quality. Even with larger lens sizes (ex., 58 or 77 mm on SLR cameras), filter quality can have a very noticeable impact on image sharpness, so on something as small as the Neo's camera, I suspect there might be significant differences between brands.
@@dronewilder5234 - I tried to make a joke about it being like "carbonate" but with "élève", but for some reason RUclips decided to delete it. Three times. I guess it really doesn't like chemistry (or French students). 🤷
I'm guessing 4 because you totaled off one of them and then you had 3 chasing you so I'm going with 4. Unless its five lol BTW is it really still green in Ireland? There is nothing but snow and ice everywhere around here in Saskatchewan. I'm waiting to take Neo skating actually. Have a great day and enjoy the weather!
I'm going with 3 neos. Thank you for your great videos.
I believe it's 4 now. Thanks for the great videos, they are really entertaining and informative at the same time. Love the Neo!
Excellent video again! Helped alot. I had a flyaway myself, and with all the testing you did, guessing its the 3rd one.
All of your videos are informative and I love that thank you for this kind of content really appreciated and yes it's 4 neos ❤️
I guess this one 4th neo. Great video keep it up man!
Great tips! So happy to see your channel doing so well!

Another informative video, and that may be Neo number 4
You can do a lot with that little camera and your proving it. 👍
I’m guessing 5 Neo, another great video 👌🏻
3rd Neo I believe, keep up the great content.
My guess is your 4th neo. 1 must have got trashed pretty hard during the crash tests. And 3 following you!
I guess 6 neo... Keep up the great work 👌
It should be your 4th Neo Drone. Cool tips as usual 😉
3rd neo, love the videos
I just got my neo in
Nice very informative video, are these options available when iam using the motion combo set?

Are these tips with the settings that I can pull up on my phone or do I have to have a controller? I’m a newbie.

Yes but you can use manual shutter speed and auto iso and then use auto exposure lock to fix it but still have HDR
Can any of these settings be adjusted from the DJI Fly mobile app or does it have to be through a DJI controller?
