- Another request from an audience member in the AO Arena, Manchester, UK. This time they wanted the Queen of Motown Pop to put on her hat as...The Boss! And did she ever! She gave that song a work out without leaving the comfort of her chair! How does one do that? LOL. But Ms Ross reminded people that when it comes to dance hits, no one can do it like her! "The Boss" was an epic change for Ms. Ross who flirted with dance songs previously, most notably, "Love Hangover," but it wasn't until Ashford & Simpson put Diana Ross under the disco charts with this dance classic that Ms Ross truly became a dance diva! The album topped the dance charts as did the singles that came pouring out of it. She almost gave Donna Summer a run for the title, "Disco Queen." Of course, the following album (not counting the Ross 78' regurgitation) produced by Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards solidified her status on the dance charts and proved once again that Diana Ross knew no music boundaries.

Diana always maintained her voice because she never screamed and yelled. She still has that clear as a bell tone. This shows that her voice was always strong, but just sounds light because of her voice type.

I remember watching her Central Park concert on TV when I was 6 years old. That storm that rained out that concert hit us in Cleveland as well. I remember how green the sky was and just before the storm hit and being sad that they had to stop the broadcast. She came back the next day and finished the concert. A true legend.
Interesting - I remember seeing her Central Park Concert on Showtime, as she stood out on that stage in the pouring rain ☔️ calmly guiding her fans out of the park. The next day, I decided to skip a college summer class, to attend her concert. It was jammed packed - reporting a pickpocketing incident to a NYC Police Officer by chance got me to the front of the stage 😳 where I would be holding hands with complete strangers, singing along with Diana Ross 🎯 It was an amazing experience, by the end of that summer, I would be saying goodbye to NYC and relocating to CLEVELAND, OHIO to go work for Standard Oil (BP of America). God is everywhere & everywhere is God 🙌

I think that's a "trooper." A "trouper" comes from the ABBA song "Super Trouper" which is a large stage spotlight that beams on someone singing. Of course you may have meant a spotlight.

I love this woman so much, she is the epitome of class, grace and talent! I will never forget how she came and gave me a hug while singing in a 1987 concert when I was 10! I will never forget how she smelled! I vowed never to wash my hand again. That hug meant so much to me, I will never forget it

Diana is one of the top 20 favorite people in my life. She has been since I was about 8years old. I am 66 years old now. I saw Diana in concert every opportunity I got. Diana is a remarkable woman!!!
We don't have too many of our legends left...we love Ms Ross happy to see u enjoying yourself...you r really living full force in what u truly love to do.

Diana has excellent control and technique here, she's effortlessly moving between chest head and mix with her voice. In her very upper belting range she's still hitting those notes with volume and power which shows how she could still sing other songs like this using her full range.
Simply amazing that she is still going strong!
Diana Ross is amazing I saw here in New York a few years ago and i cried at her concert . God bless her for being so Down to earth and kind . And What a performer . She is the BOSS and A DIVA in every sense of the word I'm so very happy to have grown up with her music and watch her represent EXCELLENCE!!!!.. Thank you Ms. Ross and thank you for taking the time to have kids and build a beautiful legacy.

i saw her way back in the 80's. i remember being in the audience, standing room only when she did an up tempo song. she even called some people in the audience to get on stage and dance with her.
She is pure Joy! for the soul. When ever I'm sad feeling the blues. I just watch learn listen to this Angel thats given the world so much. 78 still going strong. I saw her live twice in my life in Radio City. I was 30 yrs old she came down from the stage and came right over to me. I will never forget that moment because it took me 18 yrs and I was feeling strong as a woman and to be in her presence gave me the courage to live my life to the fullest. Family Love ang Faith. Now at 70 yrs I'm content all the pieces have come together just because a woman of her example and strenghth showed me the way. She will remain in my heart and soul forever.

I didn't know she had a concert at radio city music in 1970.
We wore out our 15 minute club version of The Boss back in the day. Diana came around at precisely the right time in history, and it's so awesome to see her still going strong all these years later. Sorry Aretha and Donna, but Diana Ross is and always will be the "Queen" ... more longevity, more hits, more versatility, and more crossover worldwide appeal.

I had the pleasure of seeing Diana in 2016 in San Diego, at the outdoor Bayside Pier!
WOW, it was truly one of the best concerts I've ever seen, and I still get goosebumps when I think I finally saw her preform.
She came out with a Supremes medley and had the capacity crowd on their feet, singing and dancing word for word! 🤗
Diana might have been a "diva", but for that night she was THE BOSS and she gave a HELL of a performance!

I took my little brother to see her when we were both teens. San Antonio in the early '70's. She was so postive and bouncy and FANTASTIC! The Supremes were my first love. I adore her.
