    Very clever idea to have the rail

    Nice design and fit. A small double step molding may help with the top scribe.

      Duane Buss can you link to the type of moulding you mean and explain how you would use it? Thanks

      @@Alastair_Freebird we use a 3/4" by 2 or 3" strip of MDF or whatever is a match to the project. The one side would have the 45° angle or whatever the correct angle to the ceiling might be. When installed to the top of the fascia board (bulkhead) it would give you a double step look, with a tight fit to the ceiling. I hope I explained this correctly.

      Duane Buss do you mean it’s placed on top of the ‘fascia’ upstand part sort of like a tiny narrow shelf?

      I’m glad I’m not the only one who came to that conclusion! Yes I’d recommend those brackets, see this project where I used them properly: instagram.com/p/BvI7KkgAJ8b/?igshid=198kfp09c4xq4

    Customer wanted to keep cost down but bought Laura Ashley handles? Sounds like they are all fur coat and no knickers.

      I’ve had that on some of my installs. Customer wants to keep the cost down but there’s a top of the range Merc or BMW parked on the drive!

    That looks really fab and you don't charge too much either - could quite easily sell an arm to pay for that.

      Thanks! I charge more now. Like many people in this profession it took a few years to dawn on me how expensive this type of work really is when the true costs of producing it are all factored in - including making a fair living!

      Yes they’re not bad are they? Only other sloping ceiling bracket I could find was a Hettich one, very nice but pricier and hard to order.

    your Videos are a brilliant source of info. I have built some drawers and used cheap runners. Big mistake. Don't want to adapt for the Blum movento (but will use of future). Which runners did you use here?

    • @Alastair_Freebird
      @Alastair_Freebird  4 года назад

      thesey hi, thank you and I think we used these basic Blum ones : www.blum.org.uk/shop/roller-runners/blum-drawer-runner-base-fix-942367/. Lots of variations from different manufactures and they can be very cheap but at least with Blum the gauge of the metal is good and they run fairly reliably - others can be incredibly flimsy.

    Where do you buy the moulding that you put on the front of the cupboard doors please?

    Hi this looks really good - how much did this cost the client or how much did you charge for the whole job?

    • @Alastair_Freebird
      @Alastair_Freebird  5 лет назад +3

      Emma Luise thanks for the comment. I think I charged around £2.5k for this but I remember getting caught out with the time involved making non-standard drawers. I think I’d be charging £3k upwards going forward.
