omg THANK YOU for showing the first row so detailed, especially the drop stitch avoidance. I have never knitted in my life so all of these little things are completely new to me. Whew :-)
THANK YOU!!!!!!! I could not get this right to save my life and now I am knitting a flat Panel Scarf and not having any trouble. I am only using 20 needles on my Addi Kingsize. I was dropping stitched and could not understand why. You are a life-saver!!
So glad I belong to the Facebook group and where I found the link for this video. Although I’ve mastered knitting tubes, flat knitting was a problem for me. Your video was so clear and easy to follow. I can’t wait to try it. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video. I started w this making hats for kids in need and chemo patients. I couldn't figure out how to do a flat panel for scarves. You saved my fingers from crocheting the scarves
Thank you Suzy, struggled with this for a couple hours, before I found your video. Now i can see where I was going wrong, you explained the "bump" very well and I needed to hear that!
Wow an Addi is so smooth. I use another brand that was a gift, and I have to control the yarn so it doesn't tangle or drop a stitch. I have to go very slowly. Your Addi is so smooth and it automatically tucks under the red part. Now I'm considering getting myself an Addi
Thank you for sharing this. I've been losing stitches on my ends consistently and did not know about ensuring the yarn was below the hump on the needle before it got knitted.
Thanks for this! I didn't realize about the switch on the side, or about going a little further to ensure that the stitches go under the red bits. Very helpful!
Hi Suzy! I just found your video and it is so very helpful. I just purchased an Addi King and am so excited to learn. I am now so excited to try a flat panel. I made my first hat (although they seem to be a bit small or tight for adults, especially men) but I love how fun it was to make. Looking for to searching your channel. Thank you for an awesome video.
You can also make a single layer hat, piece together flat panels to make a larger hat. Also it depends on the thickness of your yarn and tension. Take a look on our facebook group, we have a pattern library under the albums that will give you many ideas. Good luck
@@Suzy-AddiKingLoomersandKnits Hi Suzy, thank you for the suggestion. I don't have a Facebook account but I have been searching RUclips for whatever I can find.
you always hold the yarn with your left hand with a bit of tension using your machine but at the end of the row as I have demonstrated, you give the extra tug to create tight ends.
thank u sooooooooooooo much,i have tried to use my addi ex for a very long time ,where I got it from gave me the runaround ,I have looked it up on youtube ,but I don't know maby I am dumb, anyway I just found u,thank u,i can understand u ,the close up shows me where I am going wwrong,,u r amazin ,is there a book I could buy or just watch u

I kept dropping or doubling the first and last stitch so thank you for pointing out that the yarn needs to always be at the base of the needle or it will get caught!!! 🤯
that is something the instruction booklet or the dvd, that comes with the machine does not explain, making sure the yarn goes under the red tabs before going back for the next row. Thank you
I really enjoyed this video, so thorough in explanation and view. I do have a question about bind off: Do you bind off the panel with a yarn needle/yarn together as usual?
Thanks! I have only done a small sample piece. Will definitely have to do something else. Post some things you have made using this flat panel, if you will.
Hi Dawn... I have a project album that is available for viewing on the group site that has all kinds of different photos of projects that I have made. Also in the Addi Pattern and Idea Album, there are many different Ideas there that are made using panels which will inspire your creativity...
When you are ready to change colors you can do it from either end. I prefer to change it going right to left myself. Just simply cut your yarn and start with another color from when you left off. Very simply done in flat panel or circular round. I hope that helps... Heres a video from Margaret: ruclips.net/video/pcZnVE-f-lE/видео.html
I’ve watched several and this is he best, most thorough yet uncomplicated explanation that I have seen, Thank you! I get it now.
Im so glad it helped, wtg

Great Tutorial Suzy, I'm looking forward to making a sweater on the Addi king
thank you !
I am glad it helped a little, I look forward in seeing your projects
Are you holding the tension on the yarn the whole time or only at the critical points?
you always hold the yarn with your left hand with a bit of tension using your machine but at the end of the row as I have demonstrated, you give the extra tug to create tight ends.

Excellent video! Thank you!
Thank you ! I bought an addi express kingsize and was getting frustrated.
I kept dropping or doubling the first and last stitch so thank you for pointing out that the yarn needs to always be at the base of the needle or it will get caught!!! 🤯
UPDATE I have tried various yarns and for some reason the first and last stitch working flat just continue to give me trouble idk what to do 🥺

your welcome
Thank you so much, you just solved the problem I was having :)
I really enjoyed this video, so thorough in explanation and view. I do have a question about bind off: Do you bind off the panel with a yarn needle/yarn together as usual?
Bind off as usual or with waste yarn if you want to crochet or hand knit a finishing

Very nice! Thank you!
Can you show me how to cast off / Bind Off ... I am really new to this.
How would change colors? At the ends of the row and is one side better to do this on?

How do you count your rows when you do a flat pandel on a addi
Unfortunately, like with all the circular knit machine counters, you have to do that by counting them yourself
Thank you this is very helpful
Super! Thank you! Can you make a tutorial for a sweater!
I will look into that... Perhaps in the fall time, I will look into that...
nicely explained!
Thank you This is very helpful video
Can this work on a small singer knitting machine?
I would imagine it would be the same concept..
Thank you!!!
Is it possible to remount a panel on an addi?
if you started out with waist yarn you can surely hang back the stitches without any problem just like you would do with a brimmed hat.
I meant to say after it was remove from the machine.
Danke
Como consigo compra uma máquina igual esta ai?

Türkiye de çok pahalı
THE most annoying thing is that it will drop stitches. So annoying.
Appreciate the tips. I'm going to try them
