Thank you for the tutorial. I'm new at this and have both Addi's, a singer and a Sentro I just ordered. These tutorials are helping me as I'm learning.
Hi Mary Cochrane your problem with the squeaking could be that while your project is growing, more tenion is being put on the machine and the needles. You must periodically unitwits your garment to release the tension. Placing your machine on a table with a whole in it would help with the problem. Hope this may help you.
Suzy do you have a video on what to do so a flat panel will not curl inward on the edges. When I use my loom I use purl stitches on the edges to prevent the curling. What do I need to do on the Addi to prevent the edges from curling?
I’ve been running my Centro backwards because my yarn guide is starting to wear out when the yarn is being ran through the machine in the forward manner. I can’t seem to wrap my head around doing your technique if I’m going in the opposite direction. If I ever figure it out, I’ll let you know.
The reason you are having a drop stitch is because you don't have any weight to your new and previous color. Just twist the two color ends a little and clip a clothes pin to it and see if that resolves your issue with the droped stitch. After you knit a few rows take the clothes pin out and then tie two colors together.
Hello, May I also suggest this spray lubricate, "Fabulous Blaster" dry lube? This is made by Blaster Corp. and is found at Farm & Fleet stores, and other hardware stores. This lube is totally plastic safe. It is made with PTFE, a Teflon. It goes on wet as a spray but dries instantly, into a light coating of Teflon. I found this seems even more slippery than silicon. Before I used this, I used paraffin wax rubbed on all moving surfaces that contacted each other. A hair dryer can be used to warm the knitter as to allow easier coatings. My large Innovations machine runs so easy, that it can be spun using 1 finger. Hope this helps, Thank You
Hi Miss Suzy. I'm a new owner of the Addi machines. The smaller one squeals when my project becomes longer. Sometimes the crank is not smooth. Is this because it's new? Also, may I request a video on how to clean and lube this? I also love the jogless method you have. It's perfect! Thank you.
Hi Mary, Sometimes your machine will start squeaking because the fibers of your yarn build up in your machine. The best thing to do is to open the machine as you would to change a needle and use a can of compressed air to clean the lint out. As for using a lubricant, I must add that there is no recommendation for this from the Addi Corp. however, personally I have found that a very very light coating of lubricant does help but if you do spray it, be careful NOT to use a petrolium product that will damage your machine. As for making a video on this, because Addi doesn't say anything on this and I open the machine up completely in doing my light coating of lubricating, doing so might void the warranty.
Hi Suzy, I was wondering, I have just purchased an Addi king and the carriage is a bit wobbly. Is this normal? If not what can I do to fix this problem? Thank you in advance.
Suzy, thank you for giving us this technique. I tried it but had difficulty until I changed to using four 12-inch pieces of different colored yarn to temporarily hold the stitches instead of using the picks. If a stitch popped off, I pulled it back into place with the ends of that piece of yarn I draped over the edge of the addi machine. After I knit a few stitches and everything is where it is supposed to be I removed the four pieces of yarn. Thank you for your videos. Do you also do sewing videos? I have written instructions for making pillowcases without any raw seams and I would be glad to share it with others but I do not make videos.
thank you Laura, Im glad you were successful. Unfortunately I havent really sewn much in the last few years but I mean to get back to it next year when I have cleared some time..
Suzy, would you like to have the instructions for the pillowcases? I made them out of wild cheerful colors. The college students loved them because everyone knew who owned which pillow - no question about it.
Thats a very generous offer, however I am leaving for about a month and would not have any use for it at this time. Thank you so much for the offer though.
Laura, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I i know that your post is 2 years old, but it was the difference between success and failure for me. i had almost given up after several attempts, but then i saw your comment and tried it. SUCCESS!
If you go to the library on the groups site it shows how to change a needle. This is what I do, when the machine is open up as such, I use a can of compressed air to blow out all of the acrylic fibers that get in bedded into the machine. I then use a can of silcone spray (no petroleum based products as they will hurt plastic) and VERY VERY lightly I spray inside (if you spray too much you wont like what it does to yarn) also because this can has a little straw I use that to spray in the opening around my handle. Since doing my procedure, my machines run noise free and running smooth. When I start hearing a noise again I know its time to clean and I repeat the procedure.
Thank you for sharing Suzy and your clear explanation and tips are very much appreciated x
Just ordered my king sized addi and was dreading the color change drop stitch. This will help a ton! Thank you!

Thank you Suzy for this video...works like a charm....
Thanks Suzy! Your videos are getting me ready for my new Addi King that is on its way to me.
Unfortunately, I can't do the technique properly even after trying several times. I'm glad that others have been successful.
Another great video thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial.
Great method. Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done, Miss Suzy

I have changed a needle several times. But wondered about servicing or lubricating.
Thank you Suzy ❤❤
That's amazing! Thank you!
THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!!!
Thank you!
How do u clean the machine?
Excellent! Picture perfect.
What do you have your machine sitting on. It looks like a metal frame to attach you machine to
its a workbench.

Hi Suzy, I have a Sentro machine and it seems that I can’t get the pegs to line up enough to remove. Can you help? Thank you!
Without a picture its quite hard to do that. Can you post it in the group then we might give you some ideas. Thank you

I guess as long as it is safe for plastic, it would be something worth trying out for sure.. Thank you for the tip
Thank you Very much!
You're a genius!
GreAt tutorial thankyou 😎👍🇦🇺
Ok so the top stitch is held, the bottom stitch moved over then the top stitch is put back on the pin. I’m going to go try it now thanks!
Where did you buy your loom knitting picks. I have checked Amazon with no luck.
xcellent- i'll give it a try
You are awesome! I will try this.
Thank you, Im glad to help

Where do you get the silicone spray?
Perhaps at Walmart, Canadian Tire, Hardware Store.. Do not buy WD40 that is not the same.. Read the label to make sure it is safe for plastic.

Merci beaucoup

Omg thank you!!
Great idea!!
Thanks
Wher did you get those two hooks from?
The Pink one comes with the knitting looms and the metal hook was with something I had won.
