Just watched all 5 compilations and have basically re-lived my childhood......I don't know how you did it but I stand and applaud the effort you made to do this......genius and thank you
Just watched all 5 in a row. Oh wow made me feel small again. Had that all warm and fuzzy feeling. Now I wish I could go back to a time when life seemed so much simpler. Thanks for memories Deano.
thank you for all 5 parts. I have just watched them all with my young kids, showing them what I watched as a kid. they couldn't understand why the TV used to stop late at night. great peices of nostalgia.
I’ve watched all five episodes that you’ve produced and this little series of compilations is just pure and utter brilliance! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Thank You Deano- I have watched all 5 of your videos about 70s and 80s childrens TV and I loved them all so much. You have a great memory and definitely put in so much hard work and effort into creating these masterpieces. I really appreciate them especially how much you time you spent creating these masterpieces. Your 5 nostalgic videos have brought back so many forgotten memories and helped me remember some other shows. I know you can’t risk doing anymore videos because of RUclips warnings over copyrights. Thanks again for these nostalgic videos which brought back so many happy memories and I will now go web surfing to find actual full episodes of some of these shows that I loved and still love so much. Cheers and I can’t thank you enough for all of this 👍👏
Thank you for putting them together, it was heart warming. I say bring back the old cartoons. Like you said maybe you couldn't stream, bearing in mind you have shown more than I remembered, which is wonderful, I can also remember, I dream of Jeanie, wait till your father gets home, Happy Days, Mr Magoo - my favourite, The Phoenix and the carpet, The Borrowers, Take Heart, maybe you showed these, but I have watched all 5, and obviously I am getting old!!!. At the end of the day, if you hadn't bothered to do this, we wouldn't have seen all these!!! So, I am grateful. Thank you again truly.
Thank you for this amazing compilation..I've watched all five in succession what a blast down memory lane..some of those clips I haven't seen for 40 years..wow
Thanks for posting these snippets. I've just re-bought Children of the stones. The story telling is fantastic. Chocky was so good as well it really is a great story. Oh those memberberries. Have a fantastic christmas eat, drink and be merry.🎉🎁😍
Dude...seriously...this was so FUN! I watched all 5 and was cracking up at the ones I remember and intrigued by the ones I don't. I can't wait to show this to my husband -- he will know more of them than I do (he's old lol)
Thank you for that amazing compilation, it took me back to when life was an easy path to follow and playing out with your friends mention exactly that, just having fun and enjoying being young. So thanks again. A 1960s spirit who preferred it back then than what we have now.
OMG, The Incredible Hulk'n all, gives me goosebumps to go back to the day! You're the best Deano :) I'm currently re-watching all episodes and seasons of Grange Hill. If I could have 1 wish, it would be to go back to the U.K. to those times, and never leave.
Great series. Thanks for your efforts in compiling and editing them together to bring back so many good memories. It's only when watching so many short clips put together you realise how much narrated stop motion animation there was going on in the UK back in the days when the TV actually had daily downtime.
My favourite was Paulus the Little Woodgnome. Anyone else remember? The witch was out to get him. It was a dutch childrens stop start animation. I always called Paul,😮 my brother paulus after seeing this, & my friend, also Paul. There are some wonderful memories of watching these kids programs with my brothers. They have both passes in 2018 within 5 months of each other. But the memories, priceless. Thankyou ❤
Thanks for posting all these. They brought back a ton of memories and thanks to these videos I can now put a name to some shows I couldn't remember the names of.
It did to me too. That and the theme to the Tales Of The Unexpected. That tune, with the dancing silhouette, freaked me so much I hated seeing shadows. It took a long time to get over that.
This came up in my feed for some reason and just watched all 5 :) Great memories! Ones I can thnk of missed... Follyfoot, whitehorses , Think of a number and How! :)
Man, I love this series! So many memories of happy times in my childhood! Don't know all of the shows, but it was great to see some of my old favorites. This 50-year-old has had a great time remembering his childhood through these clips!
I loved these videos, I was born in 81 and have some great memories from my childhood. I'm going round to me mums tomorrow and I'm going to get the photo albums out. Cheers deano you have made my day 👍🏻
I just watched all 5 in a row, couldn't jump of the nostalgia ride. I'm unfamiliar with some of the eighties cartoons but seeing the Tomorrow People here just took me right back - I so wanted to be one back in '73!!! Was disappointed that Escape Into Night wasn't featured (that scared the pants off me in '72) but I guess something has to be in Part 6? Great compilations and thanks for posting.
So many great memories being brought back with all these compilations, thanks! Most of the older ones were still being repeated in the '80s as I was growing up (born in '74). Some I would have thrown in there along the way as well, which were also a big part of my childhood, would include: Airwolf, Automan, Battle of the Planets, Battlestar Galactica, Blakes 7, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Captain Scarlet, Dukes of Hazard, Godzilla (late '70s cartoon series), Charlies Angels, Heartbeat, Jason of Star Command, Lost in Space, Manimal, Mork & Mindy, Older whistful 70's synth based version of The Moomins, Randal & Hopkirk, Spider-Man ('60s TV series), Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends, Stingray, Street Hawk, Tales of the Unexpected, Terrahawks, The A-Team, The Adam's Family, The Avengers (John Steed & Mrs. Emma Peel), The Book Tower, The Fall Guy, The Incredible Hulk ('80s cartoon series), The Invaders (A Quinn Martin Production!), The New Adventures of Flash Gordon, The Sky at Night, The Time Tunnel, The Tripods, Tomorrow's World (late '70s-early '80s synth theme), Top of the Pops (late '70s-early '80s synth theme), U.F.O.,... These, along with all you've shown, were essentially my childhood and adolescence throughout the '80s! :-D
1970-1990 was truly a spectacular 20 years for British TV. Starting with the high paced and action packed Thunderbirds and Star Trek, but generally slowing down and calming into shows such as Thomas the Tank engine and postman pat. It truly had anything for anyone. Of course there was no shortage in cartoons meant to advertise, but many of the later shows were the ones that survived, with the older shows receiving remakes, reboots and films. We also see the start of a number of successful modern shows, such as Fireman Sam or the Mr Men Show. It really was a time of wonder for the industry. I could write a full essay on the qualities and histories of these shows, ranging from Star Trek's 2 shows to air in this timeframe, to the Thunderbirds films and Thomas & the Magic Railroad. There's so much to say about the unique histories of these shows. It was mental to say the least. Despite being born well after these shows hit, several were still on the airwaves for my childhood, simply due to their timelessness. To call these shows brilliant would be an enormous understatement. Just look at how some are doing now, 4 are still making a name for themselves on the small screen, Thunderbirds has returned and Star Trek has a new show in production alongside the 1 currently on TV. There really is no end to my unique fascination with these, and these shows may not end themselves.
These have been BRILLIANT!! My entire childhood in 30-40 minutes! I know you said "no more", but if you ever do get the urge:- Andy Pandy Animal Kwackers Ask Aspel Bill and Ben Bod Daktari The Double Deckers Fingerbobs The Boy from Lapland (Summer Holidays programme) PlayAway Robinson Crusoe (Summer Holidays programme) The Brady Bunch Thanks for the hard work!!

Children of the Stones frightened the living daylights out of me as a child! Had to turn the sound down when it came on as the theme music made me cry!!😅
Hi, you all that was a kid in the 70s,! This is a great upload, from Deano,,! & the other 4 uploads,! I was born 23rd May 1968 from northern Ireland UK, 🤝🇬🇧 , I watch on a Friday when am haven a whisky, 🥃 , God Bless to you all that was a kid from back then,,! 🤝, you all have a whisky on me, 🥃 , 😁
Thanks for all your hard work Deano, brought back a lot of great memories. Picture box...loved it but can't get that anywhere. Children of the stone - a genuinely scary kids story. I wont go on but having watched all 5, I am transported back a decade or 4 (or even more) ago! Thanks again for the hard work putting this together.
It's been great Deano, sorry to hear that was your last post. Sorry You Tube have spoiled things with all that copyright stuff. Thanks for all your great memories!
Love watching these uploads on a Friday when am haven a whisky, 😁 remember most of these, from a kid in the 70s,! Born 23rd May 1968 , thanks to the uploader,! God Bless from northern Ireland UK, 🇬🇧♥️🇬🇧
Wow Thanks so much for helping me go down memory lane gosh I wish we had programmes like them for children nowadays there were so gentle back then. so special.
The Tomorrow's People intro used to scare the crap out of me, I used to cover my eyes until the intro had stopped. Those bouncy ball things that were in it were creepy!
I was born in 2003, but I still know so many of these shows thanks to the vast amounts of VHSs my parents bought. Looking back, I think I may have some tapes with CEEFAX on them; sadly our old analogue and VCR got thrown away after the switchover - it'll be a few years until I get another one! This series was great.
Thanks for giving me such unbelievable memories I forgot but used to love. 1 second in and you remember every moment and get transported back to innocence .ty
Deane Thankyou so much wonderful memories, I just watched all. Another one of my favourites was Cassey Jones, from the US about a train driver, do you remember that one? ALSO Wurzel Gummidge with John Pertwee
Thank you for the lovely memories you brought back I still remember most and even some of the words but some I had forgotten maybe those didn't have such a long showing, but enjoyed everything and going down memory lane with the places I'd lived and happy time with the family. Thank again kind regards. 😀👍💞 Ps: I watched all 5 episodes.
Nevertheless regarding your final sentiments; my children will oh so appreciate my childhood program viewing... you did me proud Mr Essex, you did me proud
Screen test!!! Remember watching that in '77. I was too young to see some of the films asked about but I always loved that theme tune.... "Marching There and Back" that drummer must have been knackered by the end! Always liked Michael Rodd too. I can remember what days and times these were on as I'd set mental alarms for them. Picture box creeped the hell out of me when they'd show it at school on the telly on the stand. 🥴 Still makes me shudder
That spooky ring modulation effect and the music on the picture box theme used to completely freak me out as a youngster. I think it came on after the lunchtime kids slot.
It used to come on early morning as part of the old "schools and colleges" programmes on ITV which run from 9.25 - 11am it used to be first on then a programme called "How we used to live" followed but yes picture box intro definitely had that dark chilling feel to it!
Chicks at school thought I was cool because I could play the Rainbow theme tune on my guitar (and Jamie And The Magic Torch). They still wouldn't go out with me, though. I had to start playing heavy rock before the groupies showed up.
3 here that scared the living daylights out of me as a 70s kid. Tomorrow's people and children of the stones were genuinely frightening and the picture box opening was chilling. Scary kids TV then pre 6pm!
Just watched all 5 compilations and have basically re-lived my childhood......I don't know how you did it but I stand and applaud the effort you made to do this......genius and thank you
Don't forget 'Storybook International' ("I'm a storyteller and my stories must be told")
'I have many stories, tales for both the young and old' (or something like that)
In Russia I am Ivan, in Sweden I am Jan, in Germany I am Johann and in England I am John 😊
Yeah I loved it back in the the day ✌🏾
@@tkio in the early 1990's I worked on the refuse lorries, one of my work buddies used to sing the theme tune..strange guy 😁
@@derekodriscoll7178 hahaha fantastic 🙂

Watched all compilations. They brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for the upload
I loved all all 5 parts of this thank you so much for sharing, different strokes was a great show.
There is something about that slightly out of tune music from Picture Box that I always found almost nightmarish and eerie.
I remember it too. As a kid I found it wonderfully weird.
Thanks. I looked forward to see The Famous Five remembered, but one can't have everything. Rupert and Barnaby were of my earliest TV-memories.
"Barnaby the Bear's my name, never call me Jack or James, birds taught me to sing when they took me to their king..."
Thanks for all the memories I loved growing up in the 1970's and 1980's.
Watched all 5 episodes.
Thanks for the nostalgia trip and all the earworms from the theme tunes. Look forward to more happy memories being rekindled ❤
Thankyou ..watched all 5..thoroughly enjoyed it..does anyone remember play away? 😃

I do indeed. Used to watch it with my younger brother. Do you remember a cartoon called Aubrey?

So many of these programmes had instantly recognisable and unique theme songs that stick in our brains decades on.😁
Children of the Stones, still chilling after all these years!!
I never watched that for some reason even though it was exactly the sort of thing I loved back then. Weird.
I'm buzzing on pure nostalgia
Picture box , watched it at school ,it was the music and that special box and wonderful presenter.
Another great trip down memory lane - thank you xx
You're welcome :-) x

If I recall, Picture Box wasn't actually a kids show, but featured on programmes for schools....
Wow. Memory well and truly jogged. How did we watch this much tv in the 80s? Time has warped surely???
we had more time back then thats why lol

N Gauge England -Synthematix- Sandi Toksvig first appeared on our TVs in that show, didn’t she? And Neil Buchanan of Art Attack fame?
Superb,,, what blast from past really enjoyed the series ..thank you
Chicks at school thought I was cool because I could play the Rainbow theme tune on my guitar (and Jamie And The Magic Torch). They still wouldn't go out with me, though. I had to start playing heavy rock before the groupies showed up.
Bless.
Knightmare. Loved it. "Where am i"? Sidestep to the left....👍
3 here that scared the living daylights out of me as a 70s kid. Tomorrow's people and children of the stones were genuinely frightening and the picture box opening was chilling. Scary kids TV then pre 6pm!
I really like the theme from Picture Box. It sounds like it should be on a programme about an abandoned haunted fairground.
I'm still afraid when I hear it *shudder*
Finally! I watched all five, waiting for the Tomorrow People! Great fun memories. It’s amazing what you forget :)
These are fantastic. Part 6 needs to include Tailspin, Alvin and the Chipmonks, Round The Twist
Ha Round The Twist... still remember the words all these years later
