Now hearing Paul alone on Got Back 2022 tour in another era another world entirely than 1966 Munich. Hearing Paul scream his chords out in I’m down in 1966 with consequences in 2022. It’s all too much. Why are there so few views here? I loved this.
Many of us have passed away,so perhaps that's why there aren't many likes. As a group and individually they were all fantastic. There's no telling how many songs all of them recorded. THAT should be a record amount.
My favs here are Baby's in Black, with John and Paul harmonizing so well, I Feel Fine, and Yesterday with the band. A true rarity and an excellent performance.
I wonder why the sound was pretty good for the support acts and pretty bad for the Beatles. Obviously the crowd is a lot louder when the Beatles start their set but the sound - especially the vocals. It could be the guitars are turned up louder? Especially johns (always johns!)
I honestly think Peter and Gordon came off better here. The Beatles had just started touring in 66 and were in good spirits as this was before Manila and the Jesus crisis later in the year. But their playing and singing here are poor and you can hear mistakes. The Beatles sounded best live in 63 and 64. Here it shows their hearts were more into recording as they just finished Their innovative Revolver album. So going back to perform old songs was probably boring to them. They didn't seem to rehearse properly.
