I’m a young LDS member, and I’m finally finding my light in Heavenly father and Jesus Christ. He has always been there, I just didn’t look for him. I am beyond grateful. I have trust in him. He has shown me time and time again that he is the all mighty God who can bring me out of pain and suffering if I let him. I am in control of my life, but I don’t have to do it alone.
I have read the book of Mormon everyday and I has blessed me in ways I can not fully explain. Jesus Christ is My Savior and Redemer. The Church of Jesus christ of Latterday Saints is the only true Church on the earth today with the fullness of the gospel. The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ along with the Bible.
Now that's living by example. It might feel nerve-racking to think about giving a copy to a coworker, a friend, a neighbor, etc., and there's nothing wrong with feeling this way, but just remember that our church leaders will sometimes be sharing a copy of the Book of Mormon and their testimony with world leaders and other important leaders, and they too are probably rather nervous about it until they remember the the Lord is on our side when we share his Gospel. You may find most will not share in our beliefs, but as long as we continue to love our neighbors and do our best to follow the guidance of the Spirit in our efforts, the Lord will handle the rest. They may not believe in this life, but opening the hearts of another even by just a crack will help others in this life and the life after to reach them. Just never stop remembering that Christ's ultimate rule is to love one another and to show it when we can, which in turn means we are showing God our love for him.
What if the orthodox leader reads it, gets converted, and then preaches it to his whole congregation and everyone there gets converted?? That would be a miracle spoken about in the last days for sure! 😮
There was a similar event which DID happen to Parley P. Pratt if I remember correctly. An entire small country congregation joined Jesus Christs' Restored, True church. The Pastor allowed Parley to preach on a Sunday. Pastor & all were converted. 😳 🥹
I love the Book of Mormon! I can testify that when life gets dark and dreary, and you feel like you cant feel anything anymore ~ just open up the Book of Mormon and start reading. It doesnt matter where, it doesnt matter what ~ your heart will begin to melt, and the icy walls that kept you from feeling anything will be broken through ~ and you will feel again! That feeling ~ that warmth ~ that peace ~ that is the Spirit, it is one of Christ's most effective ways of letting you know that He loves you, you matter, and things will work out and you can go on. ❤❤❤ I have always said, and i still do today, that if i only got one thing to take to the island, what would it be? My Book of Mormon! ❤❤❤
I hope this comment isn’t removed but I am currently reading the BOM and I am not a member yet however I do know a lot about the church. Members need to stop arguing and the lds social media team need to be open to questions without deleting them. The Book of Mormon was never to take away from the bible it’s a different testament it doesn’t replace biblical scripture nor does it add since it’s separate. Just because things are taken out of context. Paul wasn’t the last prophet and Joseph smith will not be the last either. There’s a massive communication problem between the members and non members and if people would break down that barrier and be opened to understanding rather than causing issues on both sides people would get along more. The LDS church has wonderful temples and does wonderful works but the communication barrier is a problem I see this in my own country (UK) and like in Jericho walls need to be broken and lines need to be cross a conversation to help others and commit to it if both sides are willing can work wonders and not only spread truth but allow non members and members to understand their community around them. Basically, the Book of Mormon changes "and other sheep I have of this fold." For you have supposed He was speaking of the gentiles. But was actually talking about the lost tribe of Israel in the western hemisphere. It is crazy to me that if one never read TBOM they never would have thought of these so called Nephites and Lamanites as being the "other sheep."
