    Awesome SP. Music isn't overused and the editing is seamless. Also,I love her spins, especially the layback into Biellman. It's hypnotic and I find myself rewatching it several times.

    I was one of the flower retrievers for this. Fun fact: when she did her little dance at 2:36, she was making eye contact with a former coach of mine and actually made him smile.

    she definitely deserved a 3rd in olympics...but prob not 1st/2nd. she turns her lutzes into flutzes from time to time, and shes still doing a 3Lz2T, whilst yuna has been doing 3Lz3T consistently since 16.....so you still see the difference. but by all means, she's great and has huge potential to medal in the next olympics.

    Mirai has better flexibility which gives her better spins and spirals but Yu-Na beats her where it counts. Yu-Na has stronger technique in her jumps and way more maturity and musicality. Truth is, Mirai is amazing! She has everything she needs to be #1 and, as long as she stays with Frank Carroll, I think she will be the one to beat in the coming years. Great speed and appeal; she just needs better tech on her jumps and more maturity and feeling in her skating. She was underscored here though...

    Mirai wuz ROBBED! She should have been in 2nd if not 1st. The judges are just making it clear that she has to wait her turn. I think she's the best hope the US has in the coming years; she's pretty consistent, she has speed comparable to Yu-Na and Carolina Kostner, and the rest of her elements are all top level. She just needs to work on her maturity and technique but she's with Frank Carroll, so all of those things are being fixed as we speak. In another year or so she'll be the one to beat.

    @nysound I think this year will tell the tale if Mirai is truly ready to become a contender. She can't keep using the "i'm too young" bit. She's 17 now and is expected to be a challenger in any competition she's in. She needs to keep working on her jumps and being more mature on the ice. And become a tougher competitor.

    I think in 2010 her speed and footwork has improved a lot. She has a bright future ahead of her.

    You made some interesting points here... here are my two cents:
    I think the underrotation might have been for the 3Lz, not the toe. She also usually gets docked points for the wrong edge too.
    At domestic competitions, skaters are usually marked WAY higher than they would be at an international event, which would explain the US nationals overly high score, not to mention she probably peaked at the nationals/olympics that year.

    Man, if she continues as she is, in just a few years she'll be amaaaaazing. I loved her spins. THey were so fast paced and dizzying. I am in no way an expert, but I can see places where she's not as mature as the top skaters.

  • @dsfddsgh
    @dsfddsgh 14 лет назад +2

    @HelTra91 I agree. She needs to say to herself that she's going to take what's her and that is the World Championship and every other event that she is in this year. No more "i'm the future" talk from her. The future is now.

    It's because she under-rotates - i don't like the scoring either, but that's what we got

    Mine too! She just needs to polish it a bit, but it's very fun

    fabulous skating! the judges are crazy here. it should be at least 65 PLUS in my opinion.

    @dsfddsgh After Mao burst onto the scene and dominated at 15 and yu-na at 16 I don't think she's thinking that she's too young, it seems more like she feels it's just not her time because there are a lot of great skaters still skating. I just hope she isn't settling into the idea that her time will only come once they retire because she has what it takes to give them a run for their money.

    I love his program and the music. Mirai deserved more than they scored her. I know her jumps get downgraded alot, but I still love the way she jumps, so softly and lightly. Yeah, Frank looks pissed. He should be!

    You say that other skaters are marked higher like yuna, getting higher than mirai with only a 3F-1T right? You have to remember than everything else yuna does gets her positive GOEs (minus the flip) and she doesn't have a edge call on her lutzes.
    where are you getting this number of 58 points? Yuna scored 64.62 at the 2007 gpf for her SP... mirai wasn't even at the same competition.

    So unfair to Mirai...I'm sad for her. It was a very good performance and deserved better scoring. At the end, I can see her being unsure how to react to the scores...she looks so sweet and sad looking at them.

    all there was missing to this performance was a little bit more expression. I think she could have shown a little more fire. But I agree man, I keep rooting for this girl and I don't think her scores should be that low for the quality of performance. And how can she be NOT known? she was a US champion for crying out loud

    24 for pcs? It's so wrong it's almost funny

  • @huigomi

    Good luck LP.

  • @mifer123

    Just another example how the judging of figure skating hasn't changed. It will always be unfair and continue to make the sport of figure skating lose credibility. There is no way that Rochette deserved to be 14 points higher than Nagasu. Just insane. I love how she got -2 GOE for a perfect triple flip. She also received just a level 3 for the last spin that was so clearly a level 4 it isn't even funny. Rolling my eyes right now.

  • @leoninsf
    @leoninsf 15 лет назад

    I like her skating, she has beautiful spins, exquisite lines, but her jumps are often under-rotated. Watch the replay, her combination jumps were short of almost half a turn, and the triple flip was only 2.5 turn in the air, the exit of the flip she was facing wrong direction, I am sure technical specialist nailed her for these errors, this explained why the marks were low.

  • @ilikepie62
    @ilikepie62 14 лет назад +1

    Mirai's jumps and spins were so solid! There's no reason her technical elements OR presentation score should have been that low!

  • @huigomi
    @huigomi 15 лет назад

    I disagree. Suzuki and Zhang's PC are only 23, what's mean "judges don't know her"? Not fair for Mirai.

  • @jellybeans9999
    @jellybeans9999 14 лет назад

    judges sucked at this competition, they definately jacked up the scores for the crowd favs
    lol im the taller flower retriever at 2:17
    and at 2:36 she was doing that little section in front of my ex coach and he actually smiled at her which NEVER happens

    Is this a joke? Half a turn short? I don't see any rotation being short, none. The lutz was like butter. Her upper body seemed a little behind on the flip but on that replay her blade looks around and the blade is what counts. To say she is half a turn short is a lie, plain and simple.
