ETH wants to play a high press. We're doing that with a front 6, with a back 4 that can't push up because the fit combos of Maguire/Evans/Lindelof can't play a high line because they're all easily done on the half turn. I am convinced our best CB pairing right now is Martinez and Kwambala. Lots of pace and defensive awareness. So they can push up and play on the half turn. As it stands there's a huge gap between midfield and defence and the CB pairing can't play good football.
Thought this myself after the game, kwambala is fast enough to play a high line, Martinez has good enough feet to make up for him.

The space in the midfield is due to the weakness of the defense to push up because of using a CB like Maguire that can’t play high up the field and would find it difficult to recover if they lose possession

Ten haag in! 60 injuries and a load of other crazy stuff happen with player incidents, the takeover etc… I think we need to give ten haag another season at least or we’re back to square one. Just think if we let him go we will regret it. Feels different then when we had Jose and ole and Moys.
Liverpool have 2 draws against United, 2 draws against City, 1 draw and a loss against Arsenal and 1 draw to Chelsea.
Every single time so far this season when Liverpool needed to show up, they didn't.

This is the first time in so long that Arsenal have done well against the big boys and you gunners think its some massively important thing - it really isnt! Arsenal have beaten city and liverpool and lost to West ham and Fulham so those 'weaker' teams could be the reason why you miss out the title.

Casemiro a bigger problem than people noting on all these issues. Looked almost intentional at times how bad he was at basics. Mount and Bruno saved him a couple times.

Man Utd have obviously got some kind of resilience about them and their quality got them out of trouble today.
I just wonder about Steve McClaren’s influence as a coach there as they do remind me of England when they didn’t qualify for Euro 2008, Middlesborough on their crazy run in Europe and Newcastle when they last got relegated.
As for Liverpool, maybe their wasteful finishing is just typical of good players who’ve not really been in a title race for a while (Salah), or ever (Nunez, Diaz).
Grealish back for Man City is very important, they look much better with him in the team. They’re still conceding too many goals this year though, and I still think their slightly inferior goal difference and overabundance of draws can be traced back to the departures of Mahrez and Gundogan who were two extremely special and very seasoned players for them.

I’m a Liverpool fan. Many Liverpool fans simply underestimate United. Just because United are not doing well, doesn’t mean you can just beat them for 3-1 easy. Every premier league game is hard.
I think the hammerings United took a few years back gives unrealistic expectations. United in their peak never took Anfield as a granted, nor should Liverpool take Old Trafford. Mad few games between this and the cup game.

This season struggled with injuries which likely has an effect on style of play with how high up defensive line for example.
Main point is that we didn’t have these conversations as to what the style of play was and gaps in midfield last season, so my idea is you have to back him
