    Amazing speaker! I just bought the XT F100 and only have 15hrs of break-in and wow do they need the break-in, bass keeps getting deeper and deeper, the 70hrs is not a gimmick on the F100 it makes a big difference. Sound stage is huge, details retrieval is amazing, mids & vocals are out of this world, I don’t think imaging gets any better than these no matter the price. I owned the Motion 35Xti with a Dynamo sub and these F100’s are night a day better than the old Motions. The old sounded amazing with some types and music and just good with some like metal and rock. These sound amazing with every genre of music and very neutral with amazing bass (no sub needed) I don’t even need a sub for HT. And all this with a old midrange Yamaha receiver which I will be upgrading soon to the Onkyo RZ50 or the new Sony AZ5000ES.

      Yes but to be fair there is a big difference between the 35XTi’s and the 60XTi’s. You’re comparing a bookshelf speaker to a full size tower. If you compare the Motion 60’s to the F100 you’re much closer. Martin Logan have done a nice job with both these line ups! 👍

    I just purchased the Martin Logan Motion Foundation F2 speakers ( that’s a mouthful ) from my local dealer - after 29 years of only buying Paradigm speakers . I would love to see your review on these with a solid IA/Receiver or Home Theatre amp as well .
    I have an Anthem 710 right now , also a Kinki Studio EX-M1 . Planning on adding a McIntosh MA352 as my self retirement gift , as I love that look and sound .
    I find speakers are all so different - had A&B’d five different ones and each one so completely different / I could live with any, but price and looks also weighed into my speaker decision . Was leaning towards the Bower & Willems 70x (?) but didn’t want to spend that much .
    Appreciate your thoughts and hope to see a review soon .

    I have been running the ML ESLs for about 10 years now being pushed by an Emotive XPA3. To compensate for the loss of bass I have dual SVS 16 Ultras filling a 22'x33'x9' room. In your professional opinion after testing the F200s would I benefit from replacing my ESLs with the F200s from a home theater perspective?

      I wondered if my carpet would muffle the sound too. I have a pair of 200s now so went out and had some 1/4-inch beveled glass cut to fit in-between the feet. Not a big difference but the bass does seem to be slightly tighter. I really don't understand why they didn't build them with a plinth in the first place considering the price. That being said I'm probably being too picky as they sound amazing either way lol.

    @Audioholics:Awesome, Gene. Are these (F200,F100) true 3 ways?! I've been screaming for more 3 way speakers for 2 decades! Talk about the crossovers, and can we see one? I can't remember which speakers you had a guy on once where they/you showed us the "build" and the crossover board was so huge and so well built I was like "yes, that is what I've been talking about!" @robwr737 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@JohnnyBroker76 thank you. It looked obvious to me like they were 3 way but wasn't really discussed. And to me a property designed 3 way with excellent crossovers and build has always sounded better to me. Maybe I'm crazy 🤪 but seen so many 2 ways that costs thousands of dollars and have to ask: whyyyyyy?😅 more drivers, more frequency separation, less of the midrange drowning out the tweeter in a single combo driver, also to me allows the tweeter to be clearer as well and bass is great but I have bad hearing and I want to hear dialouge and special effects not just the bump, subwoofer and other tweaks cam give all the bass most people need or want. To me, everything depends on midrange and tweeters especially a great midrange bc then you can EQ/ Dirac/ etc so much more. Appreciate the response 👍

    • @JohnnyBroker76
      @JohnnyBroker76 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@robwr737 you are right, 3 way with good components and a good cross over is always better or at least it should be. Another thing is I have tile flores cement walls and having the down firing port under the speaker and the aluminum woofers close to the floor works like magic in my space, amazing clean tight bass response and masking low mids. I already know the tweeter was amazing coming from the Motion 35Xti but this upgraded tweeter is smoother, has better staging and dispersion because of the new waveguide and details and separation is second to none. There were things I loved and thing I didn’t like as much with the old Motions, I am yet to find a fault with the new XT F100’s mind you I have a mediocre AVR pushing them. The only issue I am having is wether it looks better with the grills on or off, something I never thought I would say, I always say speakers should always have the grills off. These look amazing both ways for a different reason.

    When comparing F200 to Perlistens towers, do one of these speaker brands deliver a full package for both home theater and 2ch. Please share your thoughts

    • @Audioholics
      @Audioholics  11 месяцев назад +3

      Both brands offer superb 2CH and home theater performance. Perlisten has an overall more uniform voicing of their lines from bookshelf to tower than MartinLogan. Perlisten has a true dedicated 3-way center while MartinLogan does not. The F200s would have deeper bass than a comparably priced Perlisten tower. Perlisten subs are divine. MartinLogan Balance force subs are excellent too.

    Is it only bass that is important in a speaker? Good bass is a good speaker! It's not that simple!
    Nowadays you can expect to get a speaker with poor sound and with sound problem much more than the opposite. The factory has a budget and tries to make as much money as possible
