Agree they do look good. I just ordered them for my new all black 2023 Tacoma SR access cab which doesn't come with a factory recovery point installed like yours did.
So you remove the tie down point and these only have one bolt? That seems like a weak recovery point. I suppose if you use a bridle to connect them both and did a static pull that would be OK. I was looking for faded recovery points effort I got my bumper and these were the only option. But clearly they’re not rated recovery points.
Yes, unfortunately they are not good for recovery purposes and more of an aesthetic modification. I will say that after I took them off they held on really well, but putting the full weight of the truck on a pull may not be ideal.
I put two shorter bolts in place of the two long bolts that held the factory recovery hook in place. There is a block inside the frame that the factory hook and demon bracket screw into. So in my case, the demon bracket is held in by one bolt. But the block the demon bracket screws into, has a total of 3 bolts holding it. Not just the one bolt the demon bracket uses. You can also flip the factory hook the other way and keep it with the demon bracket. It doesnt look very good, but it works.
Should have listened to the reviews. They didn't send me a drivers side bracket. Grrr. Cool video tho man, now I know how to do it when I get the right bracket...no instructions either.
@@Mumfy64 yes. I saw the many reviews of people not getting the correct brackets even one of an empty box but thought they would be smart enough to send the right ones by now. I sent a message to seller to send me the driver side one so we shall see if they reply. If not back it goes.
Love the Videos brother.. Very thorough and easy to follow. Just a quick tidbit I was able to get both thicker washers on with a little play in case yours were too loose with the skinny washers
Looks great and the price is attractive, but I can't find any info regarding their strength rating for the Demon Brackets. Any idea what they are rated at? Hopefully more than the 9500lb for the D shackles.
You needed to install thick washers on the inside. It keeps the shackles from rattling, and knocking back and forth. You'll be changing it. Just to know when something on your rig has to be delt with, and not to mention the rattling is going to drive you crazy . Hit your thick washers with a spray lube, or even spit, and slide em in place. You'll be glad you did. The snug fit makes it a lot easier when installing a tow strap or chain
The thick washers were too tight between the bracket and the shackle, but now I have a full front bumper replacement so the brackets have been removed.
Done a bunch of these let me just clarify for those who need a bit more direction. Put the thin washer on the bolt side and push it through but not all the way. Then lube the thick washer and work it in the opening on the thread side until everything lines up. Tight fit but it will go with some finesse. Good luck 🤙
correct. I wouldn't use them for any recovery use. I have since upgraded my front bumper to something more substantial. Check out the video. ruclips.net/video/gfqPl7FC3wk/видео.html

I got a 22 SR5 DCLB a couple of weeks ago in Black, since then I’ve been blacking it out and doing cosmetic mods, done aftermarket Pro grill and I blacked out the letters, installed Raptors lights, black overlays on all chrome letters, raised tailgate letters, blacked out the Toyota emblems on the wheel hubs, factory running boards and soft fold tonneau, matte black SR5 bedside logos, 265/75 M+S tires, factory bed mat, LED bed lights, and tinted driver/passenger windows. I took the ugly air dam off yesterday and after watching this video ordered these Demon Brackets with the red hooks, I think it’s going to give a subtle pop against all the black. Once I get these install I dunno what to do next?!?!
I like it. I just ordered a set of shackles off of Amazon for my TRD ORP 4Runner. Can't wait to get them on. Like you said Suttle is the key...thanks for the video.
Just received my used set. Touching up hooks. Installing this week 09 Tacoma Sport. Red truck black trim. I think it will look great. Painted skid plate and bumper bracket was rusty. Thanks for the Demo
LOL those are nipple rings if you use them to get pulled out of a dich you will bend the front end of your truck. That area of the frame is a sheet metal box ....... oh but they look Kool 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree that they should not be used for any sort of recovery. Yes they are more for aesthetics but you could still tow someone with these. Its the same location as the factory tow hitch. ..... I am curious if you have tried to pull someone out of a ditch with these and have in deed bent the front end of the truck.

I did replace the grill with one from MC Autoparts as seen is this video, ruclips.net/video/XgZocEi33hw/видео.html. I have not had any errors with the TSS after installing it. Are you having issues?
@@Mumfy64 Good to hear! I own a 2021 Tundra, and just doing some research on replacing the chrome grill with a TRD Pro Grille. Thanks for the feedback!
Late to comment, but looks great and the red pops nicely. Have them on my Voodoo Blue. I painted mine to match the truck. Used locktite on demon brackets as well as shackle pin. Also ran safety wire through shackle pin hole and braided nicely. I'm way too OCD.
When installing these, you have to remove the stock bracket on the passenger side. The Demon bracket only utilizes the single bolt and will cover the stock bracket holes. I don’t believe it’s any thicker.
I'm new to this, but why would spend extra money for the shackles and brackets if there is an existing hook already? Please tell me the benefits of shackles and demon brackets aside from making the Tacoma looks cool.
All mods are personal preference, I don’t think that adding them has any more benefit over stock, I could be wrong. I’m using them until I can replace the front bumper with the shackle attachments. I’ve heard that they can be used as recovery points but I haven’t had experience utilizing them that way.
No problem. I always recommend doing mods when you have the money to do so. Save up for the big ones and spoil yourself on the truck when you can and it makes sense.
Pretty sure they are. I mean they literally replace the factory tow points, at least on the passenger side. Remember that plenty of vehicles have tow hooks that screw into the frame via the bumper.
Looks good, just wondering if they hang down enough to hang up on rocks. Aftermarket bumpers move them up and out of the way. That’s why stock hooks are mounted sideways.
I haven’t been off road to the point where they would be caught on rocks. My lift helps keep them up high. They don’t sit lower than the lowest point on the truck by any means. I could see an issue on the approach angle if you’re doing some serious rock crawling.
Cool mod. Planning to do orange on my silver sky! Anyone get there stolen? Hearing that’s an unfortunate thing that happens. Might take some lock tite to make it tougher to lift...
I like them for sure and I’ll bet the orange will look good on your rig. As for theft, I’m sure they can and do get jacked, and you can only do so much to discourage thieves. Lock tite would be a great added level of security.
Agree. Considering there is only 1 bolt securing them to the frame, I’d never trust them to hold up for recovery purposes. For tie down and towing, they should be more than adequate.

it seems that the brackets R about 3/4" to wide they don't fit snug,, but the bolt lines up nice!, did U have this problem?
Would these get in the way of a steel bumper?
Typically is you get a bumper it’ll have recovery points on it so there isn’t a need for these demon brackets.
So you remove the tie down point and these only have one bolt? That seems like a weak recovery point. I suppose if you use a bridle to connect them both and did a static pull that would be OK. I've heard these are just pretty but don't have strength and frame connectivity to function as true tow hooks. Is that true?

Sheesh! Such a minor mod such a huge difference! Look soooo good!
It’s the small touches that can make a big difference.
