    On my channel you can find many more theories, curiosities, stories and lore about various video games: D
    As we await the release of Pokémon Scarlet's and Violet's second DLC, The Indigo Disk, it's the perfect time to revisit some of the unknowns and clues Game Freak subtly left for us during the base game. Today, let's delve into the intriguing theory around Paradox Pokémon, suggesting they might be a creation of the imagination of Professors Turo and Sada, and that Heath's book about Area Zero could be entirely fictitious.
    Do these allegations hold weight? Are Paradox Pokémon mere products of imagination, or do they have a basis in reality? Could the Legendary Disk, possibly Terapagos, have brought them to life based on the Scarlet and Violet books? Join me in exploring whether Game Freak and Nintendo have been keeping secrets from us since the very beginning... About this Pokémon from the past or the future.

    There's a book at the Malie library where it says that when Lunala/Solgaleo arrived in Alola the Tapus attacked it but neither side could defeat the other. In other words the Tapus where not created by Lunala/Solgaleo.

    • @jvbon646
      @jvbon646 8 месяцев назад +3

      From what I remember it said that the Tapus attacked them, but they got clapped by Solgaleo and Lunala
      After that they turn subserviant, and they put them in charge of protecting their newborns (hence why they save you at the start of the game)

    • @LoreKeeperVG
      @LoreKeeperVG  8 месяцев назад +5

      I've checked it, and the issue appears to be more complex than I expected, but I think I know what happened.
      So, the main problem is that the localization of the main book from Malie's library is almost COMPLETELY different in Spanish and English. In Spanish, there is no mention of the fight (although in a different book, it's said that it was a tie), but it explicitly states that they 'gave life' to the Tapus. In English, there isn't anything like that, but it says they lost, while in another book, it's mentioned that they tied(?) Also, in Spanish, there are some original names for Solgaleo/Lunala, whereas in English, there's nothing like that lol
      So, since I don't know how to find the original texts in Japanese, I'm unsure which localization is closer to the original meaning. I've found other instances in which the Spanish localization is closer to the Japanese texts than the English one, but this isn't necessarily going to happen this time too. I usually double-check these kinds of things, but I didn't expect them to be SO different in that key point...
      So... Yeah, I don't know. I hope someone here knows what the original text of the books says in Japanese.

    I have two theories about the legendary beasts and swords of justice being fused in the books.
    A) The originals were singular beasts that eventually split by some time, evolution, or mystical stuff.
    B) (seems more plausible to me) The artists saw the respective group (huddled) together from a distance and misinterpreted what he saw as a singular being.

    One interesting thing of note is that the Great Tusk / Iron Treads that Heath sees, is different to the ones we see in the games, almost as if Sada / Turo remembered the photos differently and the Paradoxes we see in the games are Sada / Turos interpretations of the photos from their memories.

    • @samable7724
      @samable7724 7 месяцев назад +9

      For instance, the image of Great Tusk is missing it's ears, it's spikes are much smaller in our version and the "treads" on the back come down in triangles, whereas the photograph shows it to be a straight divide.
      I don't believe Heath faked these photo's, I just think the ancient version of Donphan wished to see, and thus was granted to him looked different in his head to the one that Sada wished to see with her time machine. Creating a different looking Great Tusk for either researcher.

  • @jh9794

    I don't think heath was a fraud, but the paradox pokemon themselves were created by the crystals powering the "time" machine. The crystals are said to be able to refine and alter technology. But we also know fragments can be used to influence the terra type of pokemon who consune them directly. And that's just a temporary flash of power when the terra orb is involved. What if a pokemon were to spend large amounts of time around them? What if they were exposed to a MASSIVE amount of energy these crystals radiate all at once? The crystals can affect anything given enough of them and enough time.
    I definitely think terrapagos is the treasure referenced in area zero. I definitely dont think the tine machine works like its name implies. The professor just thinks it does.

      terrestrialization in every form originates from the terra crystals. No crystals(and by extension the crater/impact zone in kitakami), no terra, period. Because of that I'm inclined to believe terra raids and terra shards are, in fact, bits of terra crystal that sprung up in outside of the crater(if in game they actually exist and aren't just game mechanics).
      Also, it is a fact that the machine doesn't do jack without them. That's not a theory either the game makes it clear that the whole setup fails to work without them.
      Guess we'll have to wait a few weeks to find out either way(or GF won't clear up anything and theoryis all anyone gets).

    Very interesting video! I love that it addresses both possibilities of the paradoxes. I myself lean more towards the Imagination Theory due to the sketches being inconsistent (though it would be cool if we do end up being able to fuse the Future Swords and Past Beasts), the Paradoxes having details in their designs that mirror the Professor’s (while yes, the Past Paradoxes look more primal, they also have makeup and a bit of a punk aesthetic), and the Dex entries saying they resemble Pokémon, but not related to them.
    Another funny tidbit is Iron Bundle belonging to a past civilization, yet we see no remains of it anywhere (same goes for the Past Paradoxes having no fossils of themselves) and Iron Valliant cutting down anything in front of it yet it can curtsy to its trainer in one of its idle animations.
    I love that Game Freak has given us such a fun mystery to theorize over, and I’m really looking forward to Part 2 and the answers it holds.

      Pike 99% of the "game breaking" glitches come from people playing the pre-release leaked copy files on emulators (which already had sub-standar performance)
      The actual game doesn't have half of the stuff shown in videos. Most of the glitches are just visual (like something turning invisible due to funky camera angles), or models becoming 5fps/16bits just because you move 3 feet away from them.
      The framerate does consistently drops to the underworld, tho, specially when running while also transitioning into a new are (needing the game to load a bunch of new spawns, weather, location name, etc).
      The clipping tru walls is also true, you can get out of bound by clipping tolru ceilings.
      TL:DR
      The game is optimized like ass, but nowhere near as bad as the videos make it seem

    I don't think the Paradox Pokémon are Pokémon from another time, but they were born from imagination. I do think Heath and Co. actually went down into Area Zero and saw something there, but it wasn't past or future Pokémon, it was probably stuff imagined by the expedition's members and brought to life by Terapagos's power to alter reality, like how you can change the type of your
    Pokémon, or find Pokémon with different types in place they don't belong (basically I think the Pokémon in the dens including Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, were created the same way).
    It's said in the game that the professors' A.I. counterpart is powered by a technology that shouldn't be possible, but thanks to the Tera crystals, it is able to function. Even if you could say that the professors used technology from the future thanks to the time machine, it does not explain how Sada, with her past-oriented machine was able to bring this technology in the present. Neither does it explain how the professors build the A.I. before finishing the machine. What likely happened here is more or less what the Orks in Warhammer 40K do, believing so much that their technology works that it ends up working, but with the help of weird crystals in the case of Sada and Turo.
    Also, in the same dialogue where Arven questions the logic of it all, he ends up saying his parent was so amazing that they wished those Pokémon into existence, I'm paraphrasing but that's the idea.
    Also also, the professor talking about this past/future of their dreams, kinda on the nose if you want my opinion.
    Another thing that leads me to think Paradox Pokémon aren't actually from another time is the fact that the designs on the drawings and the photographs match each other but don't actually match the design of the Paradox Donphan we see in game. I'll even say that Iron Treads looks a lot more retro-futuristic in the books, as if someone from the past imagined what technology from their future will look like, and the one we encounter in game is more futuristic in a way someone in modern times will imagine future technology.
    All of this to say that everything in the game but what the professor says (y'know the one character who believed so much those Pokémon were from another time they tried to bring them here) is more in line with Paradox Pokémon being fictional in universe rather than from another time.
    And that's why they are called Paradox, not because they're from another time, but because they shouldn't exist but still do.

    The thing that really sells me on the imagination theory is the Pokedex entries for the Paradox Pokemon. For this, we have to consider that the Pokedex throughout the series has been reliable and, while not quite omniscient, more of a "bird's eye narrator". The Pokedex will have entries for Pokemon that have never been seen before by anyone in the in-game world and know things that would be impossible to know for any person at the time, like with Deoxys in the ORAS Delta Episode or Terapagos in the Indigo Disk DLC.
    The Pokedex entries for the Paradox Pokemon purposely do not state that they are from the past or the future, they only ever refer to them as resembling an image from a "dubious" or "occult" magazine. Pokemon from the past are nothing new in the franchise, we've had fossil Pokemon since generation 1, and the Pokedex knows all about those. A library entry about Slither Wing again goes out of its way to state that no fossil records exist for it. If the Paradox Pokemon were actually from the past/future, the Pokedex would confirm it.
    I know this isn't ironclad proof, but it's the only thing that makes sense narratively. The text goes out of its way so many times to discredit the violet/scarlet book and the Pokedex makes such careful efforts to not confirm the Paradox mons as being "real", it would make no narrative sense if they were.

      -not as a literal description of an ongoing time paradox, that game does present us with as a fact, but is still murky in reality. They’re just referred to as Ancient/Future Pokémon by the AI.
      I actually think both Imagination and Time Travel are actually incorrect, and it’s simply Terapagos, as the Indigo Disk, bringing these Pokémon to life in a totally separate reason to Heath and the Professors.
      Tera crystals are said to natural induce mutation in organisms, and enhance technology, making the impossible, possible. We’ve seen the technological aspect in the creation of the AI, and I wholeheartedly believe we’ve seen the organic aspect by seeing these ‘mutated’ Pokémon come into existence.
      The thing people seem to ignore, is that the limitation of bringing two ‘Raidon’s, doesn’t make sense for a true Time Machine, if it can simply pluck them at will. But for a machine that creates Pokémon, limited to the amount of Tera Energy inputted to it, it makes a bit more sense that the energy cost for making a Raidon, in comparison to the rest which take in energy through their abilities to power up, has some logic behind it. It could even explain how the Imaginary Pokémon, could then be created if they were just mutated versions of the existing trios, made to be closer to Terapagos, genetically speaking.

    It's also worth mentioning they say no Volcarona fossils have been found in that area. It may be true that only a small fraction of life on earth is fossilized, but I don't think it would be a line they throw in without being relevant. Even ignoring Volcarona specifically the fact there's no reference to any of the other mons found within the fossil record is telling as well. We have these paradox mons in the present, anyone would be able to verify their authenticity using the fossil record. On top of that people would be able to look back at the professors notes and drawings and notice that some of what he wrote matching with what was later found in archeology.
    The paradox mons also look way too stereotypical, which may just be the devs simplifying it for kids, but they come off as what some fringe scientist believes about what the past and future was like. Even for pokemon standards they don't look like realistic ancestor or futuristic pokemon (the only ones that do are the box legends) that would exist in universe.
    I'm also of the opinion that most if not all of the legendary mons mythologies are made up by ancient humans (this idea is confirmed by the devs for Gen 3 at least). So with the beast, ancestors existing before the tower myth doesn't bother me too much, as I already view that event as something humans retroactively used to explain the rare pokemon that already existed (this kind of thing happens irl, like for example the myth about how Athens got its name was likely made up after the fact). That being said tho, I will not accept the ancestors of 3 big cats to be a therapod, sauropod, and whatever they give Entei (based on the trend it'll be modeled off Typhlosion, so if it's mammalian at least it would be closer I guess)

      Some people think paradox entei will be a ceratopsian dinosaur, like triceratops. The flames in this case will be its frill. Also might be worth noting walking wake is alot more dinosaur like than feraligatr even down to the standing and walking posture (horizontal instead of vertical), more like tyrantrum than feraligatr

    I never gave too much credit for the imagination theory that was going on, but after playing the Teal Mask dlc, I think that it may have some merit to it. But instead of imagination, maybe the key to this whole thing are memories. I say this because there's a sign in the crystal pool in Kitakami which says something about people over there being able to meet those who are already dead. And what is in that crystal pool? The same energy that emanates from the tera crystals and Area Zero. Also, the crystal pool is the only place in Kitakami in which we can find Glimmet and Glimmora, which we already know have some relation with the tera crystals. And the bigger thing that made me think this is that when we beat Kieran while he has the Teal Mask in front of the monument of the Loyal Three, he accidentally bumps the mask in the monument after his defeat, which cause Okidogi, Fezandipiti and Munkidori to revive.
    And why again we fight Kieran this time? Because we want to get back the mask he sneakily took while we were gathering material in the crystal pool to fix it. So, if we put together the fact that the crystals on the mask are from the same origin as those in Area Zero, the power of the mask was able to bring back the Loyal Three to life and the sign in Crystal Pool mentioning people there being able to meet those who have passed on, clearly there's something about giving life to things that aren't living. I say this specifically because the crystals also gave life to Sada's/Turo's AI robot, that was never a living being in the first place.
    But why memories over imagination then? Well, because the sign in the pool mentioning meeting those who have passed on, meaning people who meet those who are dead already know what they look like and how they are, they already have that information in their minds so they power of the crystals is not using imagination, it's using their memories there to make it happen. In the case of the Loyal Three, even though Kieran never met them before, which could make an argument for his imagination of them, he was also at this time fully aware of the whole story of Ogerpon and those 3, so he had clear information, not just speculation (ie imagination) like in the beginning of the story, that they were indeed the bad guys and so they were revived like this (because that's what they were).

    My guess it's both , yes those Pokémon do time travel but they are also immagined , they are created by a paradox , a missing origin point , Sada and Turo have immagined and through terapagos created them based on the drawings on the scarlet/violet book , then created an actual time machine that sent them in to the past by mistake to be seen by the book creator that described them creating a loop. also could be alternate timeline Pokémons , they do exists , the delta episode confirms that every version of the game is a different timeline , and ultra wormholes and beasts are exactly that so that wouldnt be so unlikely , they could just be from a different past/future /present
