- Chic, currently called Nile Rodgers & Chic, is an American band that was formed during 1976 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. It recorded many commercially successful disco songs, including "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" (1977), "Everybody Dance" (1977), "Le Freak" (1978), "I Want Your Love" (1978), "Good Times" (1979), and "My Forbidden Lover" (1979). The group regarded themselves as a rock band for the disco movement "that made good on hippie peace, love and freedom". In 2017, Chic was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the eleventh time.

TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the programme weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years.
World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.
I still say that this is arguably the greatest trio ever assembled. Just look at their music after Chic. Just great musicians.

Chic was a band that could get you out of a depressed state by just putting their music on and getting involved. of all their great songs this is my favorite. THEY SHOULD BE IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. They have been on the ballot 11 times, wake up Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bernard always kills the bass , he didn't change his bass strings and still had a killer sound .
Great song. Hard to believe it only got to #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 (especially after their previous single (Dance, dance, dance) got to #6.)
Oh wow ..what a funky groove on the drums, guitar and the coolest bass riffing ever ....Bernard Edwards bass style his own unique concept just like Sly Stones thumb thumping bassist came up with his slapping technique...Bernard improves on that with his more difficult string "pinching" technique...technically amazing bass playing...

I was a disco DJ in 77-78. Didn't like most of their popular disco songs, but this song and Everybody Dance are number 3 and number 5 in my top 10 disco songs of all time. For what it's worth.
