How would I go about installing a wireless coil directly into the phone/tablet? Can i just permanently wire the input to the board, will that effect any data transfers or external charging input?
It is known as M tester, it is brilliant circuit, many versions online to buy for cheap. It can identify and value many components inc; mosfets p or n channels and pinouts of BJTs and hfe etc. Also resistors, capacitors,inductors. I think it is invaluable to the hobbyist or student and soo cheap.

Looking at the build, the coil looks fairly standard for wireless phone-chargers, and the chip that manages the transmitter for the standard ones seems to run at 2MHz, so my guess is that the combination of the capacitor and inductors would try to replicate this as closely as possible. The problem with simple ZVS Royer circuits is that the resonant frequency will tend to change when the output of the circuit is loaded - in this case, when a phone is brought within range and begins to charge. That is why the standard commercial charging stations usually have the XKT412-01 chip running things. The circuit looks interesting for wireless charging of something robust, but I would not be quick to put my phone on top of the coil!
Qi charger use a FSK and ASK modulation to communicate over coil, no way by simple put phone on coil it will charge. Specially with a 5V vcc, transfer ratio under load won't ever be 100%. i think is fake or prove me i'm wrong, please.
no your correct i just tried this same circuit after many failed attemps and it was only producing 0.5v with a 5vcc input, multiple coils etc later and i got it too 0.8v. maybe it needs a freq wave for the phone to connect to ?...
