    Beautiful pieces of art! I would love to own one but I can already tell from watching the process that they're way out of my budget, lol. I'm glad I could get a glimpse into the production, though!

    Thank you for this amazing video! These works of art are incredible and I am thankful there are still talented craftsmen willing to put in the talent, time, and effort necessary to make such beautiful pieces! No wonder they are passed down from generation to generation, what a treasure to inherit!

    I wonder if they can make Tansu as deck boxes for trading card games. Or even just storage for trading cards, given their properties on moisture.

    It was my understanding that tansu helped the household to pack up and move to town for the mandatory six months or so the shogun ordered to keep samurai families off balance so they wouldn't form alliances against him? Basically the classy version of plastic storage tubs or press board and fabric box furniture. 🤣 Once you arrived, they were stacked up and latched together to create furniture and stair cases. Very smart and gorgeous.

    I have noticed many Tansu have a "stepped" shape. Most of them in this shape are of antique age. Were Tansu like those used as the primary stairs in some homes or rooms??

    Idk why but as a westerner foreigner it feels a little weird that 洋服, western style clothes, was translated as "normal clothes"

    • @inisipisTV

      I guess the Western style clothes became the Norm now through all over the world, even in Japan, than the native style.

    Can't show price and have to ask? That just sounds like.. some sort of scam... "ask for discount for something you do not ask price for" could literally add on price.

    • @MoaRider
      @MoaRider Год назад +8

      It definitely sounds like some "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" bullshit.

    • @RyotarosJapan
      @RyotarosJapan  Год назад +17

      The reason why he can't show you the price in the video is that it contradicts the price shown in his EC shop. It is not because it is overly expensive. If you are interested, ask him, and you'll be surprised how much actually is given so many processes.

      I used to sell my glass art in various gallery shops. The prices there were often in a book, give the code no., get shown the preapproved price.
