The glue circles are so beautiful, I don't think I could bear to cover them up!

Hi Rae Lynn ! It was kind of hard to cover the all over one . Maybe a big painting is in order with the glue circles :)

I agree. I don't like the end result at all but respect to the artist. :)

Nice! 🤷🏼‍♀️ every time I try to use newspaper it doesn’t work! Shows too much of the back side through to the front. 😬 any suggestions?

Hi Shari,, LOVE your video tutorials and your Blog site.... Can you please tell me what kind of substrate (small brown square) you are using here,,, it's not listed in the materials on your blog about it. Many thanks :)

I'm just beginning to play with encaustic medium. I loved your experimentation in this video. It really encouraged me to do that as well. Love the burned glue and paper resist. What type of surface did you use for the glue circles and how did you prepare it? Thank you for your inspiration!

Hi Shari, still lovin’ your work! Have you ever used “Japanese rayon “surf” paper”? I thought I saw you use it once in a video and I’ve been looking for that video but cannot find it. If you have, could you reveal a source for where to obtain this specific paper? Thanks so much!

das Video ist einfach toll, super!!
Ich hätte gerne gewusst, welches weißes Malmmittel man verwendet um es anschließend mit den Heißluftbrenner verbrennen kann. Wer kann mir Auskunft geben.
    Danke Christine Lejeune

The rich browns are beautiful. I did not like the addition of the stark chalky white. Thank for demonstrating the entire process.

Love your work! What surface do you use when creating a translucent piece of paper? You aren't working on a hot surface are you?

Hi Rita ! Thank you, and yes when I apply wax to the paper it is on the heated palette , but you don't have to do it that way. It just stays warmer to get an even coverage that way.

Very cool pieces. Was the glue still wet when you burnt it or did you let it dry first?

Knowing when you are done is often hard to see in the moment. You push it past the place where it looked best ...
