It just dropped to $60 here in S. NV recently, but always get 5-10% off, so really $54-57. Found a store that did a pick of the BP Rye last month, at JD in TN. Don't know if they will up charge for that (like ECBP), but guessing they will, since had to goto TN & also never seen 1 of those in town.
I got excited when I saw this thumbnail. I have a JDSBBPR that is so good that it beats out Handy imo. Never had the Bookers Rye, though. The JDs are the best available whiskey on the market.
Last I saw the Booker's it was $3K. I'll take the Jack. From Bonded to SBBP to 10/12yr. to Coy Hill they have it all across the price and proof spectrum. I do love the Booker's 2023-04 Storyteller. Great bottle for $100. Never been able to touch the rye however.
I have the Booker's Rye as one of the top 10 whiskies I've ever had. It's not necessary because the flavor of it is the greatest thing in the world. But it is one of the most unique whiskies I've had. The Jack Daniels is delicious, but I can probably pull a half dozen things off my shelf that have a similar profile. But if I wanted the Booker's Rye, I don't have anything that is really similar.
JD BP rye was very hard to find for awhile but now I'm seeing them on the shelf at reasonable prices. I have one but haven't opened it yet. I'll never see the Booker's. But the best bottle I ever bought was Kentucky Owl 11 yr rye Batch 01. I paid about $130 for it and it was worth 3 times that.
I love the JD SBBS Rye....need the bigboy pants for that stuff....Going through a bottle of the WT Rare Breed Rye which is another great rye about 16 proof points lower.
Nice, the lowest I've seen those is $47.59, but it's a shitty barrel & not even worth it, at that price. They still haven't sold them all & got them in May or before. The 1792 Full Proof SiB Pick I have is much better & paid $45 total. Have not given up though. Want to get a good JD BP that everyone talks about. Had 2 barrels of the BP Rye & both of those are much better. The BP bourbon seems very young. There is zero spice, zero oak/wood & tons of alcohol burn on finish. It's just a flat sweet palate. It's likey just a JD Black barrel at Brl Prf, but 1 of the upper floor barrels.
I dared to buy the JD single barrel barrel strength with 64.5 ABV, without diluting it is only fire on the palate and compressed aromas on the nose. I really don't understand the obsessive mania for certain cask strengths. 🤔
Could just be that single barrel or could be a palate preference (or personal acclimation) thing. Some folks enjoy hot sauce and others think ketchup is too spicy. Whiskey isn’t much different.
If the JD SBBP rye is half as good as the bourbon, then it's gotta be fine whisky. I'm a bourbon guy, and only want rye whisky now and again, but that Jack Single Barrel Barrel Proof rye is on my wish list. And right now I'm drinking Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye, so proof and rye don't scare me. 🥃🙂
It’s all in what you prioritize. There are a select few bottles I’d spend that on, not because I value the whiskey that much, but because I value sharing that whiskey with special company to make special memories. Not too dissimilar to splurging on a nice meal with special company from time to time.
It’s actually fallen down to the mid teens with the softening whiskey market, but was $300 when it released. It’s funny to think so many of us passed it by at that price given how rare it ultimately would be.
I'm about to lay down some (hopefully constructive) criticism, so either brace yourselves, or delete this comment now. Erin, your point about not questioning your method is valid. Heck, it's the whole point of having you both on the channel, different methods, different opinions. However, Josh's comment about long finishes and possible cross-contamination is also extremely valid. Especially in the wake of your comment about the whiskeys starting to taste the same. Your casual dismissal of it caused me to disregard your final judgment on these whiskeys. *Most importantly*, while I don't actually know what is going on in your guys' heads, so maybe (hopefully) this is a nothingburger for you...I found that whole exchange (and the following one about opinions) to be very awkward and uncomfortable to watch. To the point that I started skipping ahead through the video. Because while this may be part of the 'Stuff' in your channel title, I can't help but recommend that any kind of personal drama, whether real or perceived, should just be edited out.
That’s fair if that’s how you feel. We laughed about that exchange afterwards, and if it were serious it wouldn’t have been on the video at all, but at the end of the day this is just whiskey. Erin has her processes, I have mine, and it’s okay if we disagree in our book. It happens more often on our livestreams and you can clearly tell it’s something we’re having fun with and neither of us take it too seriously.
I’m in the suburbs of Chicago and Jack Daniels Barrel Proof Rye is typically $62.99-$65.99 which makes it a super awesome value!

@@motohead077Yup, $59.99 on the shelf in NoCal
"I do this all the time and don't appreciate you questioning my methods" said no social sipper ever. :)
Haha that’s fair!
I got excited when I saw this thumbnail. I have a JDSBBPR that is so good that it beats out Handy imo. Never had the Bookers Rye, though. The JDs are the best available whiskey on the market.
We’ve had JD ryes that have easily been better than any Thomas H Handy that we’ve ever tried so we’re right there with you!
The jack is awesome, one of my special pours. Mine is 138.5 proof

Whiskey Noob and Whiskey Nerd, emphasis on "Nerd". lol, love you two.
If there’s anyone here new into whiskey, the Jack Daniel’s barrel proof offerings are a must have for your collection.
CREAM! Cash Rules Everything Around Me
JDSBBP one of the best, if not the best, values in whiskey. I actually just found a 139 proofer recently

It’s definitely something else. Unique in and of itself and even more unique in the realm of ryes. It’s pretty firmly in my Top 10 as well.
Josh, don't get her to bring out the Bro!! LOL!
😂😂
I absolutely LOVE how little shit Erin takes from Josh....LOL...Feels very familiar to my situation at home.
😂😂 facts!
That Crazy Special Whiskey Thing on a t-shirt.
If I could find Bookers rye for $300 a bottle, I would buy a few cases.

Those Kentucky Owl ryes were phenomenal for sure!
Love the (eye)glasses 👓
I agree with Josh, these can easily influence each other with the long finish and the high proof. Dont take it personal Erin 😂
This video makes me so happy! Glad you guys got to experience the Bookers Rye in a blind. And Josh…I’ve got more where that came from! 👊🥃
Thank you for making the video happen brother! Such a fun one!
It’s pretty rare I like a Booker’s anything, but I love JDSBBPs including the rye. Very rare to get a sub-par bottle.
We’re with you on Booker’s bourbons. Not our jam. This one-time release rye is a whole different animal though.
Part of Booker’s pricing model is the story they have. I doubt the pure juice worth much of the price.
Erin at a Wu-Tang show would be classic 😂😂
Bookers LE Rye is the best whiskey I have ever had too date. Hard to do it in a blind as I don’t have a bottle but it was and always will be stellar!
Tell ‘em! That bottle is something else!
Hopefully there will be a Booker's Rye II someday
I have a Jack Daniel's Rye store pick that is outstanding. Glad I snagged 3 before sold out. Cheers 🥃
I love the JD SBBS Rye....need the bigboy pants for that stuff....Going through a bottle of the WT Rare Breed Rye which is another great rye about 16 proof points lower.
Oh man that look Josh gave the camera! Hilarious
Don't question my methods -- oof!
Spicy Erin is fun!
Erin is spicy like a rye
You know it! 😂
I was thinking George Dickel Tabasco!
Just got a JDSBBP for $40 for labor day. It's so tasty.
That’s a steal! Congrats!

If looks could kill “Bro”! You in trouble 😂
😂😂
Great pours! Local store has the Booker’s for 5,000.00
Hell yeah! I love these videos!

I should grab a bookers rye
Not "I don't know this music" lmaoooo
It's actually HILARIOUS how opposite you two are.
They say opposites attract, and it’s definitely true with us. Cheers!
Rye Now you got my attention!
Funnily enough we both think the JDSBBP rye is twice as good as the JDSBBP Tennessee whiskey. And I’m a bourbon guy.
Make sure you diversify ya’ll’s bonds!

WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
$ $ BOOKERS YALLLLLLL
That Bookers goes for $1.8-$2k. Amazing just to blind it to JD Rye
Yikes, this one had Erin felling some kinda way huh?😂😂😂
😂😂 all in good fun. Cheers and thanks for watching!
There is no chance I would spend $300 for any liquor, I can afford it, but it's principal. Have not had any kind of Jack since I was 18.
Go back and try the while Jack line-up above 07 - it is amazing and tremendous value. Not your daddy’s Jack!
Josh you must have a big wallet. I do not understand spending 300 on a bottle let alone 1700. My channel would be the frugal sipper 😂.

Ha!! Need one more zero....Bookers Rye is 3000.00

Jeez, Josh makes a reasonable point @14:40 and Erin is all daggers. Yikes.
Don’t tell Erin how to drink 😂😂
😂😂 had to rewatch to see what you were referencing as we’d forgotten. We got a kick out of that part!
I’m surprised it survived editing. Erin and Josh are a lot more honest than I am.
I think Josh knew what this match up was prior to the reveal. No doubt. Cheers y'all!!
I didn’t even know they were ryes. 😂
Why?
😂
No way Bookers is worth 300 😮 JDBP Rye is excellent and under $70 here.
