Absolutely terrific video! Impressive videography. I could really feel the journey to Mera peak through your video. You seem to make it look so effortless. :) Just awesome.
Lovely video of the Mera Peak challenge. You always had a positive look & smile on your face. Your energy to trek at a continual steady pace was impressive! I did EBC 2019, plan this in October.
Thank you so much for those kind words! I did have a breakdown on one of the days, towards the end of the hike, due to some uncertainties I was left to deal with, alone. And that wasn't captured, ofcourse :D All the best for your expedition.
@@MedhaviDavda Shame you had a negative aspect towards end of your trek. I hope it didn't take anything away the unique experience & achievement of Mera summit. Safe & explore life travels for the future. Thanks for your well wishes for my Mera.
I find the use of high camp a bit strange. When I "climbed" Mera we had a camp at Mera La pass at about 5450m altitude. It took only 4 hours to walk to the summit and 2 hours down, then another 2 hours to Thagnak. Easy and fast. Now groups use 2 days for the same.
Very nice. This is the first question I am asking on RUclips :-) Did you do solo or Which travel agency did you use? How many day KTM to KTM? Thank you in advance.
David Harris All the best David. Keep the excitement up!! I too was nervous before starting, but once i was on the trail, i had nothing to worry about, except going ahead 😊😊
Hi Medhavi, I'm planning to climb Mera Peak this year and came across this video. Beautifully made! Most trekking groups and website have mentioned this to be in Autumn and Spring, but I am interested to know if we can do this in August? TIA
Hi Upasana, For a trek of this altitude, I highly recommend you to follow the best times suggested on the websites and by the trekking operators. August is too risky for Mera Peak as it is a monsoon season that side. All the best!
Exquisite video summarizing your wonderful trip. Thanks for the sharing this valuable video. Do you recommend your operator? If yes, please share the operator’s name.
Hello and congrats on you’re epic journey. My pal and I are planning for October 2021. We are 49 & 42 years old and enjoy fitness training. Is this a trip we can do without any climbing training in the UK. Thanks Tristan
Thank you so much. You don't need climbing training for this peak. There are 2 ice walls, where you need to use ropes. Easy abseiling and jumaring gets you through them. The guides are efficient in guiding through these walls and crevasses.
Tristan, upto Khare (5000m) is normal trekking (but strenuous, bewar of Altitude sickness).... afterwards, it will be difficult as it long glacier walk !! If u had already comfort with long Glacier walk with heavy boot & Crampons then it will be not difficult to summit..... I repeat, Bewar of Altitude sickness as most of the low cost Trekking agency don't give much time for Acclimatization which may lead summit impossible,,,,, I personally feel their must be one day Acclimatization at High Camp before summit !!
Ma'am i had a ques? Can i hire all the trekking gears and trekking guide from khare?i mean can i hire them for 2 days only? And if i can how much does this cost?
It's terrific. Stunning. Can you share with me how much did they charge just for the peak? Did you have all the necessary gear, or could you rent them in the basecamp? Much appreciated in advance
DR RATNADEEP RAY thanks a lot. Have been busy with adventures in different countries. But this month i plan to put up more content on my RUclips and blog
Excellent video for those planning to summit the Mera Peak like me . Is Oct late fall the best time or late spring? Also was there any altitude sickness issues for any team members or need for oxygen?
Thank you. Both are good times. Oct is better for more probability of clear skies. I trekked alone with a guide, I didn't face AMS, thankfully! But I've seen people struggling with that on this route.
Thank you. It wasn't tough technically or with the gradient. But the height and weather conditions to the summit make it tough. Harsh wind and the temperature.
If you are technically trained to navigate through crevasses, yes, you can. Otherwise I would suggest to go solo till Khare and hire a guide from there just for the summit.
Absolutely terrific video! Impressive videography. I could really feel the journey to Mera peak through your video. You seem to make it look so effortless. :) Just awesome.
Thanks! The route is pretty well marked. the only tough part here is the height and weather :)
Loved this video! Big respect for achieving that very tough looking trek! And carrying your own pack too. Bravo!

Awesome video next year I’ll attempt this trek. Very pretty. Less travelled compared to Everest base camp
