      Riders are still going, but it's really upsetting the hikers because they blame the rider for the closure. If the hikers and local residents didn't manifest issues to the city, the gate wouldn't have been put up. People don't realize that the government doesn't want to allow citizens access to anything outside major cities, so any issue genuine or not that arises that will give the city an excuse to close land off will be taken by the city. The city claims that the trail builders are using chemicals to build and its contaminating ground water. I doubt this is occurring, but the DWP has openly stated that it has put up a fence on its jurisdiction, and the land above the fence is forestry jurisdiction. Theoretically speaking, the land is the citizens land, and if we want a trail there, we should be allowed. People need to understand this "Green Agenda" that feeds all this land grabbing is just politics and has nothing to do with preservation.
