- I've put together another compilation of express trains throughout the whole MTA NYC Subway system with the uses of other railfanners videos. Whatever line the express is running on, the name of the creator who shot the video will represent the lines color. I hope you guys enjoy!!!

Years ago I operated the "W" from Astoria. My last run was Out of Service from Ditmars to lay up at City Hall. The down grade leaving Queenboro Plaza is as steep as it gets. Since I was running empty, I'd try to hit 60 MPH.
Wow, cool! It was an impressive sight hitting some of the trains hit 55mph, especially the R32's and IRT Red Birds. 60mph must have been quite a sight.
definitely doable. ive been in the cab of a few trains that have hit 55-60mph in the 60th street tunnel. its pretty fun.
@@843Reboot Top speed these days on BART, BSS, PATCO, LA, and WMATA are all around 65 to 68 MPH, so 60 here does feel groovy and rare.

@@serenityrail the limit through Woodhaven Blvd in CBTC is 48 mph(recommended speed before braking speed) so you may want to recapture action there...

The best thing ever is when you get a 2/3 driver that doesn't hold back. Everyone knows the downtown express will BOOK Columbus Circle but it's AMAZING when they pass 66 St-Lincoln Center(DWT) and 50 St(UPT) at 45MPH.
The R-10s in their heyday thundered and blazed. All you saw at 81st St. n/b was a blur.

The 4 and 5 express on the lex lines were always moving .. they have been raising the speed limits around the system for faster service .
I notice by DJ Hammers Trains' background that he recorded on the night of the 21st Anniversary of the September 11 Attacks!
That was so awesome seeing both a F express and the tribute in lights in the background.

Thanks, good to know! Years back the #2's nick name was the "Rocket" due to that fast running stretch. But in recent years, from what I've heard, the MTA slowed down train speeds across the system. So are the trains back up to speed? The appear to be here.

Trains going from queens plaza to lexington is what I call fast
The excursion R38 we saw last has a railroad style horn. I wonder why.

nothing beats the F inbetween Roosevelt and 71 ave and the 7 exp inbetween 61 st and queensboro
i wonder why in the tunnels the newer varients R179 or trains made after the year 2000 their interior lights shine like the suns surface lol

@@captainkeyboard1007 ofc I feel you.there are straight down runs but slow speed restrictions like at 116 8th Ave and 135 8th ave

That was the C train running express. As far as the fastest goes I'll have to say the 4th clip.(6 Train)
