I’m wondering if sleep deprivation along with a mental illness could have played a part. The prosecutor did mention the father had not slept well if at all for several nights in a row. Sounds like this guy had previously had either suicidal ideation or an attempted suicide. Which makes me think he had some major mental illness going on.
I think it will be interesting to see what will happen in the future with mental evaluations etc. they definitely need to figure out what exactly made him do this. Did he have prior abuse charges? It’s just un fathomable to think a man can snap to that extreme 😢

Sociopathic/Psychopathic and or with Malignant Narcissism. I can leave anyone I please in a relationship but absolutely positively no one can leave me and if they do, I'm going to hurt them by un-aliving someone they love. Unfortunately we see this all the time. I don't buy this insanity issue.
I know people will disagree, make excuses, and give random examples. Yet, being a mom, working in family court for decades, having 2 degrees in Psychology, and most importantly having a soul. I think anyone who is capable of abusing a child or inflicting pain on them in anyway, should never be released from prison. If someone is capable of hurting the single most pure, innocent, harmless, creation to ever exist, they are capable of anything. There is absolutely no acceptable thought process that can justify hurting a young child.
Mom said she has to live with the sorrow of what he did, and he should too. He's going to be on suicide watch his entire life. Which means, solitary confinement, no outside time, no visitors, no working for money to buy food and hygiene products. He'll be complete alone and confined with nothing but his own brain to keep him company. He would have been on death row for decades anyway. At least with this deal, there's no chance of a shorter sentence, mom doesn't have to testify and relive the horror in front of the whole world and he can be haunted by what he's done.

However, regardless, the spouse could have cheated, could have been cruel to him, or whatever, it would still NEVER justify the murder of these babies. Murder is not equal to other types of harm. Some situations in regards to self defense may been looked at differently, but that’s certainly not what is going on here. Those boys were the exact opposite of a threat. They needed to be protected by their dad.

The day this man made his first appearance in a courtroom, the prosecutor got in front of all those cameras and told the world they would be putting him on death row. This is a SHAME.
A neighbor of theirs told a reporter that he would hear him yelling @ his wife & children & he'd degrade her! I think he didn't want the responsibility of being a father & husband. Thankfully he didn't hurt his daughter from a previous relationship so to me that speaks volumes! He blamed his wife bc if he wanted out of their marriage he realized he'd have to pay child support for 3 boys & maybe spousal support plus he may already be paying child support for his daughter which wouldn't leave him much money to start a new relationship if he wanted too. In my opinion he blamed his wife for his choices & wanted to hurt her mentally & scar her for life & he succeeded. His poor, brave daughter trying so desperately to save her little brothers from him breaks my heart. That young girl will never be the same & he has given her a life sentence of trauma & pain! His wife will never be the same & she will play that day over & over in her head wondering what she could have done differently that day to save her children? And the answer is nothing we're not mind readers. This almost reminds me of the case where a married man started an affair & killed his wife & two daughters. I remember one of their names we're Shanan you covered this case too. It's 2:30 am so I'm a little tired & can't recall his name. I watched this live & those Officers will never be the same or anyone close to this case. My heart goes out to his wife or ex wife & his daughter that they receive all the help they need. Plea deal was the right choice for a few reasons. 1. Sparing the mother and child from going over the horrific details. 2. The DP takes a long time to carry out, and inmates on death row live pretty secluded and safely til then. 3. Prison will not be kind to him.
It was a mental health issue. And people have a mental health issue if they don't believe it to be a mental health issue. No healthy minded person executes their own kids. And mental health is dealt with as a joke is this world. Remember they even determined Jeffrey Dahmer to be sane because he was "well spoken" and "seemed" normal. In the words of John Wayne Gacy and probably the truest words he ever spoke was "If Dahmer doesn't qualify for insanity then I'd hate like hell to meet the person that does".
The defense attorneys filed motions for their client under reason of insanity. The prosecution felt it was too risky to take this to trial. To have to prove this with 12 jurors and have the defense convince just 1 juror that he was insane thats all they need. Tbh, the arresting officers should have handled him there.

'Man murders family, then kills himself', unfortunately, is something you hear in the news now and then. This is the big difference here......how could someone live after doing something like this? He planned to live after this. He has planned to spend the rest of his life in prison after what he was going to do.

At first I thought he has to be insane! I changed when I watched this.. he only started to cry when the step daughter talked about their life together. He stared and had zero emotion when his wife spoke, when the boys were talked about as well. I think he (neighbor) said he was mean and strict with them. Probably, because he despised them. I think he was jealous of them and seen them as the reason his wife didn’t spend as much time with him and loving on him constantly. He looked at her like you should’ve loved me more than them. It’s their fault you didn’t. He’s not crazy he’s selfish and awful.

I know everyone hates that he got a plea deal. I do too, but, just think about when he gets settled in prison. He'll wish he was on death row once the other inmates catch on to what he's done. I sometimes think prison justice is better then legal justice. Pretty sure he's got a lifetime of hurt coming his way.

Neighbors heard him verbally abusing his family for a long time prior to this. I think the mother should of left him before it came to all of this.

@@lindatimmons3675 I think it’s just a speculation on maybe one of the reasons why he would do this, but I don’t think we know for sure. We have seen other killings with a similar motive. However, regardless, the spouse could have cheated, could have been cruel to him, or whatever, it would still NEVER justify the murder of these babies. Murder is not equal to other types of harm. Some situations in regards to self defense may been looked at differently, but that’s certainly not what is going on here. Those boys were the exact opposite of a threat. They needed to be protected by their dad.

The day this man made his first appearance in a courtroom, the prosecutor got in front of all those cameras and told the world they would be putting him on death row. This is a SHAME.
A neighbor of theirs told a reporter that he would hear him yelling @ his wife & children & he'd degrade her! I think he didn't want the responsibility of being a father & husband. Thankfully he didn't hurt his daughter from a previous relationship so to me that speaks volumes! He blamed his wife bc if he wanted out of their marriage he realized he'd have to pay child support for 3 boys & maybe spousal support plus he may already be paying child support for his daughter which wouldn't leave him much money to start a new relationship if he wanted too. In my opinion he blamed his wife for his choices & wanted to hurt her mentally & scar her for life & he succeeded. His poor, brave daughter trying so desperately to save her little brothers from him breaks my heart. That young girl will never be the same & he has given her a life sentence of trauma & pain! His wife will never be the same & she will play that day over & over in her head wondering what she could have done differently that day to save her children? And the answer is nothing we're not mind readers. This almost reminds me of the case where a married man started an affair & killed his wife & two daughters. I remember one of their names we're Shanan you covered this case too. It's 2:30 am so I'm a little tired & can't recall his name. I watched this live & those Officers will never be the same or anyone close to this case. My heart goes out to his wife or ex wife & his daughter that they receive all the help they need. Plea deal was the right choice for a few reasons.
1. Sparing the mother and child from going over the horrific details.
2. The DP takes a long time to carry out, and inmates on death row live pretty secluded and safely til then.
3. Prison will not be kind to him.

It was a mental health issue. And people have a mental health issue if they don't believe it to be a mental health issue. No healthy minded person executes their own kids. And mental health is dealt with as a joke is this world. Remember they even determined Jeffrey Dahmer to be sane because he was "well spoken" and "seemed" normal. In the words of John Wayne Gacy and probably the truest words he ever spoke was "If Dahmer doesn't qualify for insanity then I'd hate like hell to meet the person that does".

The defense attorneys filed motions for their client under reason of insanity. The prosecution felt it was too risky to take this to trial. To have to prove this with 12 jurors and have the defense convince just 1 juror that he was insane thats all they need. Tbh, the arresting officers should have handled him there.

I understand the pain that the mother and sister are going through BUT there should be another way for them to testify. It's funny how the criminals get plea deals BUT the witnesses have to stand in front of the criminal and testify. Why is it so easy for criminals but the witnesses do not have it easy at all and victims have absolutely no rights whatsoever.

At first I thought he has to be insane! I changed when I watched this.. he only started to cry when the step daughter talked about their life together. He stared and had zero emotion when his wife spoke, when the boys were talked about as well. I think he (neighbor) said he was mean and strict with them. Probably, because he despised them. I think he was jealous of them and seen them as the reason his wife didn’t spend as much time with him and loving on him constantly. He looked at her like you should’ve loved me more than them. It’s their fault you didn’t. He’s not crazy he’s selfish and awful.

I know everyone hates that he got a plea deal. I do too, but, just think about when he gets settled in prison. He'll wish he was on death row once the other inmates catch on to what he's done.
