Wat a great song been listening to this beautiful song since i can remember god bless irish republican brotherhood ✊🇮🇪✊🇮🇪🇮🇪✊and.the men of 81. Rip mo charas✊🇮🇪✊🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️
I'm sure Protestants were intimidated after the Treaty. Most of the Protestants in the South were landowners or otherwise more well off, so I don't think the Irish peasantry was eager for a bloodbath. The haves are usually protected. Even when they lose. The Ulster statelet was deliberately conceived to be an enclave of Protest hegonemy. No one seems to remember willie Brady. Looked great in one of those fisherman's sweaters.
That Lady has a fantastic voice. A beautiful version of a deeply passionate ballad.
My Gran-uncle was Paddy Dalton - killed by the Black & Tans in Knockanure

Does anyone remember Willie Brady's version from the early sixties? That's the version I know from back then.

God Bless ye men who fought to keep us free. I know that ye are up there in the sky flying free above the tyrants.
The republic bold they did uphold, though outlawed in the moor. And side by they bravely died, in the valley of Knockanure
cool as well on the monument it lists the struggle 1916 to and leaves a space blank until the job is done
