You may sing and speak about Easter Week or the heroes of Ninety-Eight, Of the Fenian men who roamed the glen in victory or defeat, Their names are placed on history's page, their memory will endure, Not a song is sung for our darling sons in the Valley of Knockanure. I'm sure Protestants were intimidated after the Treaty. Most of the Protestants in the South were landowners or otherwise more well off, so I don't think the Irish peasantry was eager for a bloodbath. The haves are usually protected. Even when they lose. The Ulster statelet was deliberately conceived to be an enclave of Protest hegonemy. No one seems to remember willie Brady. Looked great in one of those fisherman's sweaters.
That Lady has a fantastic voice. A beautiful version of a deeply passionate ballad.
