I feel this is a step in the right direction for VR games. I remember about the time the first Quest or Quest 2 came out, and games such as Moss a 3D third person platform game came out, a few had said, it's not a VR game if it's not a first person game. But a much older game Lucky's Tale, that was free for the Oculus Rift, had already proven that idea to be wrong. 3D third person platform games work great in VR also. And Moss nailed that idea home, sometime after. I would love to see something like the Warhammer 4000 table top game, be made playable in VR. Or more D&D board games also, such as Demeo and Dungeon Deep Dive. From what I have seen, a new far more official D&D VR game is now in the works, partnered by Resolution Games and Wizards Of The Coast. Will be very cool to see. And I also hope to see more of a trend of more 3D third person platform table top type games such as Triangle Strategy come out also. It all just works so nice in VR. ^.^
I couldn’t agree more! It’s excellent to see this genre in VR, and it definitely opens up more possibilities to explore novel gameplay mechanics that are only possible in VR. Demeo is awesome too, and it became so successful for a reason, same with Moss
Played it at launch back in the days on Switch (60€ it was back then, and now for VR its the half Price!) I love these Tactic Games. Final Fantasy Tactics actually was my first ever Game i owned as a Kid. Im so glad that finally Square Enix starts to bring more and more of these Games back. I never thought id see this in VR but its such a nice fit tbh! Bought a Copy for my Q3S as soon as i saw the Preorder haha. Hope it sells well and that we get more of this.
Perfect take on this game! I'm several hours in. The gameplay/cutscene ratio is way too story heavy. It's interesting, but left me wondering when I'd get to play. I love the battles and hope they come in greater frequency further in. Great game overall if you like games like fire emblem or final fantasy tactics. I hope enough people support it so Square Enix brings more love to VR!
Ok, the truth is that the concept of playing RPGs in that mixed immersive mode is very interesting, but only from my perspective, it would be more interesting if it had free mobility on the map, like Pokemon or the legend of Zelda, it would be incredible to be able to have that free mobility with that level of detail that the game seems to have. For all the other things I think that once I have my headset this gonna be one of my first games to play 😊
Another excellent review….you really did present the pros and cons of this game and I’ll now consider it. I noticed the headset is the BOBOVR S3 and I believe the grips were the BOBOVR or AMVR grips? And the gray facial interface? Some of us subscribers would like to know what your set up is…😎
I played the original on Switch. Gameplay for battles is pretty good, but battles do often take very long. In terms of story it's kinda meh. The 'choice' system really just hampers the writing and where you can go with it and there's really just 1 path you can take to get to a true ending. The writing and characters are kinda dull, very safe and cutscenes take ages. Sometimes it takes well over an hour between battles. It wouldn't have been an issue if the story and writing were great and engaging, but... they sadly aren't. I feel like this game's pretty much the Octopath Traveler of Strategy games. Yeah, I know same devs. But also same flaws. Great gameplay hampered by poor writing. Square-Enix really needs to work on actually hiring good writers. FF7 Remake's writing is also awful and Rebirth takes the awfulness to the next level. It's just so bad and cringy. It has more in common with modern fanservice anime than the original FF7 when it actually comes to the writing (and it's fine in fanservice anime, but not in remakes of legendary-status games).
6+ hours so far, just squashed a rebellion in Hyzante. New to this game, but I was actually there playing FF6 to FFT n the 90s. We have miraculous tech now, the game worlds just unfold in front of us, the console is but a tiny chip in the display. Battles are much more elaborate, visual effects much more pleasing, even tho trying to look like a dated game so much more detail and animation in every corner. And while I think the writing is good enough, both it and all important OST lacks the punch of the classics. Or it nostalgia? Regardless, enjoying this much...
@VRnamek Well it's a 50 hour game. The further I got into it the less my choices seemed to truly affect things. And the characters just have almost no character development.
@@thenonexistingherowell, I guess your best bet is refunding it and going back to all the other Quest games with much better plots and character development...
It’s hard to watch these reviews on RUclips . All these vr get free codes . Sadly RUclips for honest reviews are all but gone and there paid infomercials .
I own Triangle Strategy on switch. Took two hours just for the game to get started... its good but to story heavy in the front half. As a VR headset only lasts around two hours thats nearly one full charge to get going.
@@DiscoVRTetiana I know about the flatscreen game. I'm asking about VR. And I do have my answer, sadly: marketing. PC is constantly shunned in favor of exclusives for varying consoles, when they could also make money from PC sales.

But then they make it exclusive... in what is already a niche market.... so not really a right step, but a lateral move.
Nice to see something from squareenix on the quest !

I actually find this game awesome when playing in Mixed reality
Yeah, it's really cool
Incredible game, I own on Switch, PC and now a triple dip on Quest 3

Thanks so much! Haha I might make an updated video on my setup then 😅 but yeah you nailed it, I’m sporting lots of bobovr accessories!
@@DiscoVRTetiana. Hope u can check out the Oblik interface and the HiBlocks charging dock
Triangle Strategy is so good. It's also on PC and Switch. It originally launched as a Switch exclusive in 2021.
That is an criative game idea and mechanic!
Ohhh to play these games is a really escape from reality!#iwantquest3s

What is the facial interface you have? It looks like it fits your bobovr much better than my amvr interface. ❤

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I hated Octopath Traveler so it looks like this won't be my cup of tea either.

true, but yet it's an awesome RPG by S-E and is available on Quest. That doesn't happen everyday...
This is meta exclusive?
is this an mod or official
I played the heck out of FFt

My first question is what is the experience on the Quest 2? 🤔
Pretty much the same, just black and white passthrough if you choose to play in the mixed reality mode
that's like asking what a SNES classic feels like on Switch...
#iwantquest3s because all my friends have it and i really want to start a youtube channel
It’s pretty great so far

Why not on PC.
You can find it on steam too as a flat screen pc game
