I do not know one musician that hasn't messed up a set up. Great vid. It shows newer players how easily something can go wrong and how to trouble shoot it. I have messed up more pedal boards than i care to remember. It taught me a lot about proper order for the specific pedals, cable management and trouble shooting. It also shows you some problems that you may not be able to control. Some pedals sound better in different places in the chain regardless of the established wisdom of where they should go.
thanks man! my last pedalboard was actually a lot more complicated and involved a line selector and different routing. I was trying to keep this one straight forward, and messed up LOL :)
I have the smallest board in this series. The trickiest part about this set up is making sure the the blocks don’t block a pedal input, and some pedals have their inputs in awkward places.I generally find two blocks per pedal is enough for my purposes. Although I found I needed to order more blocks because I fit a lot of pedals into a small space. The board handles get in the way of the inputting the guitar and amp leads too. So you might find you need to remove them.
I was just about to buy my first pedal board today. I thought had an idea what I wanted. But I must admit I like the idea of this particular system, with the screw in blocks to hold the pedals in place. Very tempted.
Cool man! That board looks pretty interesting. I think I prefer velcro still but I would really like to try one out! I wonder how well it would work with my boss switcher, or maybe that would be too big. Cool editing Lando cheers man!
I have never owned a pedal board because I couldn't be arsed with all flipping velcro nonsense. This seems a lot better. Can you run reverse polarity pedals off it ?
@@landonbailey lol , I had a guy called Nick Williams here in England build me a MkI Tonebender Fuzz with nos Mullard germanium transistors & Hunts capacitors (as used on the 60's Vox version) . He kindly added an led and a jack for power but stressed not to use the standard Boss type modern adapter. Still awake ? ☺️
U probably know this . But the pp2+ that i hav , yes their are 8 channels but can power more than 1 pedal each channel with a daisy chain . Ck the manual 2 b sure the ma each channel puts out..Iv had this 1 for year s . And if i may say , very good choice .
I've never looked up before, I'll take a look thanks! I just know there are a lot of options with that brick. it's not all standard 9V outputs. you can do sag and run more powerful stuff too :)
Hi! Lando great video (as usual) ... can i ask you what are for you the essential pedals to reach Radiohead's The Bends era tone ?!!! Thanks so much ... from Portugal ... keep rockin
hey thanks! I love the Bends era rock. It's really tough to recommend something, because there's so much, so check out this site thekingofgear.com/ it's dedicated to Radiohead gear :) (but one pedal for sure Boss SD1)
1 OD pedal for me, I've never been an effects junkie. I'd rather play guitar than tap dance ;-) I didn't catch the mistake because I've never assembled a pedal board, LOL.
I thought it was interesting that you plugged the sd-1 into the phaser's output, and so on, and I was gonna ask you about that, until I read your comment. What's great is that I doubt that'd you'd make that mistake if you weren't filming, but now it's here for us all to see! lol (edit), yes, I did write this before you pointed out your mistake, lol
I saw the pedal power animation bit on instagram and I honestly thought it was overloaded IRL and about to explode. But it seems like it's just me who blows up power supplies...
it was the working title 🤪 If I hadn't pointed out the error, then it would have stayed. you might not be able to see the thumbnail text (almost correctly)
Well aware of what I did wrong, but see if you can notice it before I did!!!
Leave a comment if you see the major error I make. Have fun!
I made the exact same mistake at the same point recently :)
@@HC_GUITAR me three!

I got an Aclam pedal board with a very similar track system. Did not know other brands were making boards like it.
it's probably the same manufacturer with a different sticker :)

hey thanks!
Dude is like Carl from Caddyshack setting up a pedal board! Just move the power supply to the top right.
I'm not as smart as Carl. :)
@@landonbailey So you got that goin' for you...which is nice! Great video, man.
moved it to the right side :)
I indeed was in the toilet. How TF did you know? Bought this board thanks to you. Thanks dude.
Saw it right away. Always right to left.
👍🎸

I would have to look that up, I don't know about the reverse polarity. 👍🎸🤪😊

The wires are showing more than they should
don't let them know! they'll be embarrassed. ya I did mention in the video about cleaning them up.

you won! ya sometimes you get focused on camera angles, mics working, lighting, and forget what was going on in the video lol

5:05 sitting here drinking coffee. Oh shit, Landon can see me :/
ha!
The better title for this video would be "How NOT to set up a pedal board". :P
