- How to protect your home from burglary? Every year there are about 2½ million burglaries - that’s one every 13 seconds! Yep, even your own house can't be completely safe and protected from intrusion. But thieves usually tend to examine the properties they want to break into before actually doing it. That way, they can determine if it’s a place that’s worth robbing and if it would be safe to go through with their plans. So if you have that gut feeling your house is a target too, here’s what to look out for to confirm your suspicions, and what you can do about it!
Well, before breaking in, burglars try to learn as much as they can: if you have an alarm system, what kind of doors and windows you have, if you have a dog, and so on. If you feel uncomfortable about weird questions some stranger asks you, casually mention that you’ve recently installed a super expensive home security system, your dog is nuts, and your partner is a cop. Oh, and your mother is a deputy sheriff at the local jail. But there are some other tips to prevent a burglary.

I once had an occurrence of suspicious behavior in the neighborhood. This happened about 10 months ago. There were some teenagers who were knocking on every door (including the one to my house) to see if they got an answer. I never called anyone since I thought that they were just teenagers messing around.
Then what happend
In the early 80s my home was burglarized by a neighbor kid who lived in the house in front of ours! He knew that on Tuesdays I would be home later. He had been watching for a few months. He broke in twice before I got a security system.
My puppies were looking all over for the puppy whining on the video.

one way to avoid identity theft is to cut the papers with personal information on them into confetti and mix it with a mixture of different personal care products before putting it into the trash bin. no one will want to dig through that to reassemble the pieces of paper

My house ,... Always ,, goes clean. Well under our house's gate , there r pizza to clothes adverts, so me &my sis just do 1 thing. We take the adverts, read them and finally throw them away. In pur house garbage of course.

I understand the reasoning behind some of these things are saying but also they're describing a perfect agoraphobic which is what I am. If you can't go on Facebook to tell people you're going on vacation, or that you just got a new car what's the point of having Facebook? Isn't it called social media that's where I socialize. If you are going on vacation make sure your neighbors know so they can watch the place. If you have family around have them go check it out. There's all sorts of things you can do other than shut yourself away and not talk to anybody, answer the door, tell anybody about your fun stuff that you want to tell them.
Post pics of your vaca after. And, you know, enjoy your vacation instead of bragging about it. Facebook is supposed to be to connect with others, not because you wanna show off. And you can still show off after.
