    Blake and Colleen are so hellbent on turning dv into a cutesy romance. And yes the blame goes to Colleen Hoover too, that woman is crazy.

      I've been saying this. I remember a few years ago liking IEWU bc I have experience with domestic violence, but looking back I was 21 and just wanted something I could relate to. I witnessed it with my parents and my first long term relationship (8 months at the time, I was a teenager and that was long for me) was abusive.
      Colleen is messy and everyone seems to eat it up when she writes abusive men. The ONE book with a non-abusive male love interest that I remember is all your perfects

      @@sleepysadpoetyeah bc even in this book where ryle is a bad person, every other love interest who's romanticized does exactly the same things as him. Make it make sense

    "I am not the type of person who can act without producing"...then you're not an actor, babe. Getting handed lines and a wardrobe and being able to transform is literally your job.

    No you’re right to compare, no one’s getting married at graveyards or memorials normally or concentration camps as far as i know so why at a plantation? leaves a bad taste in my mouth

    as someone from southern US, a lot of plantations have turned into historic museums that double as wedding venues bc they have “pretty” views - imo the beautiful landscaping is ruined by its history of slavery but that’s how people justify it in their minds

      I can't imagine as a black person why tf people would think its a good idea to make vows of life long commitment on a site where black people were essentially kidnapped and enslaved. I swear those type of white people will never not shock me

    The way I see this whole situation is, Justin had a vision for the movie highlighting how horrible being in an abusive relationship is, and then Blake comes in with all of her fame and money and everyone started sucking up to her and decided she should be the one calling the shots. Because Colleen has no morals (lol) and doesn't care how the movie or message comes across as long as she can be all buddied up with Blake. Like of course everyone wanted to side with Blake because in their eyes she's far superior than Justin in the industry. Blake is just super entitled and tone deaf in my opinion. I also have a one sided beef with Colleen so I'm loving this drama. And it's not even like the drama is taking attention away from the books/movies actual message because nobody except Justin is talking about it so Blake and Colleen need to be knocked down a peg.

    I've heard about this drama. I don’t have any interest in Hoover books but I'm definitely here for the TEA.
    Awareness toxic situations is important.

    As an American, i have never heard anyone call it TK Maxx lol it’s TJ Maxx in my area

      @kikivf4nr Месяц назад +1

      I think TK Maxx is a UK thing (possibly for Canada as well?), and TJ Maxx is the American version.
      Edit: Just looked it up, and apparently it was TJ Maxx in the USA first, and when they moved to the UK (and the rest of Europe) they changed the name for those stores because there was already a big department store in the UK called TJ Hughes and they wanted to avoid confusion.

    15:35 am aesthetic time period style isn’t inherently problematic but it’s possible the plantation might be a venue now cuz that sounds common to me tbh

    • @lesbiangoddess290
      @lesbiangoddess290 Месяц назад +2

      It's a plantation babes, black people, families were forced to live and die in a place that wasn't their home but where their kidnappers forced them to work in scorching heat and treated less than human. Its weird that anyone would think getting married in a place with that kind of history is cute or cool. Just get married in a mansion or at a big historical cottage or something. Anywhere where its not known for keeping enslaved Africans....

      The plantations are venues now but no one who isn’t racist uses them, especially not for a celebratory occasion like a wedding. That plantation still has its slave quarters there. There’s no mistaking it was a plantation and not just a pretty house with a nice yard. You can’t be there without being reminded of the horrors that happened there.
