Hi, it’s been a mixed week for me, at first I wasn’t sure about Wardruna but as the week has gone on, (and a talk, and quite a few videos with my son-in-law) I really agree with you, it’s been a cracking week. They just envelope you in pure atmosphere every single time. Absolute gem of a find, I'm so pleased they were recommended to you or I would have missed out.
The numbers thing is purely because they are exactly what you said - a non-mainstream band that aren't widely distributed. But numbers don't mean anything anyway. Statistics are all well and good, but they aren't the be all and end all.
Ooh! Eminem. Nice! I love his old stuff, and don't know the new stuff, so either way I'll be interested!

Mid day for me, Chuey and Hank, and we were ready for a nice chill out. Screw the numbers! It's the quality of the people (and dogs) not how many. This really is my new favorite Mad for it week. Slipknot was great but this was awesome, all 3 of us are re-energized and ready to skate through our day. Thank you! Looking forward to Eminem :)

Hi, mate (I think I am allowed to say "mate" since I have spent a couple of years in the UK as a not too relative as Norwegian). I have not managed to keep up on the internet since I and my sister and her twins aged 4 who think "uncle is better than sliced bread" have been spending the week together in the house we are inheriting from our mother that sadly passed away from "that longterm" illness some weeks ago to figure out some paperwork and a lot of sadness.
A full week of Wardruna is not going to break the internet in 2022. Heck - a full week of a legend like Elvis is not going to break the internet even if a Hollywood movie has been released recently. But this is also why I love youtube. It has room for quality stuff that is not, and never will, trend on the top ten.
Everyone talks about "geek or nerd culture" these days - just because MCU currently is the most mainstream franchise on the planet (you have to be pretty mainstream-friendly to make a billion or two).
Wardruna is a musical geek/nerdy for real. They are not a box-office sensation to make headlines off. They are educated musicians exploring their ambition.
Again - this is why youtube is so cool. It exposes all these artists to a wider audience. Aurora (since we are talking Norway here) - she is doing just fine "economically" with her eclectic ideas. But there are still 5 billion people out there that may say "why did I never hear this before?". Just as Wardruna.
I am not writing this because I use two Norwegian examples. I have been living in Wales. Scotland, England, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, Nepal, India - that list goes on before effing Brazil when I got introduced to "Forro" asking myself - why did nobody tell me about this - it is awesome.
Remember Eivør? The Faroese Islands have maybe 70k people. A bit more than this number should be aware of what she is doing. And youtube is allowing this "spread of words" (that record company still do not understand by blocking reactors randomly):
