Honestly, I'm in shock right now, this final boss GREATLY exceeded my expectations!!! Sure it's just Bowser, but have any of you guys ever fought Bowser who ABSORBED the power of another? Oh and the MUSIC!!! Ahhhhh, Yoko, you've done it again, the music of phase 2 kind of reminds me of the Fate Of The Universe level from Super Mario Galaxy. Anyone else?

I prefer fighting bowser as a final boss over someone newly introduced, unless that new character is way more awesome.

I kind of like how in the more recent Mario and Luigi games they are making Bowser more and more like Dark Bowser. It's like after defeating Dark Bowser normal Bowser realized he needs to step up his game to be as big a threat as the Dark Star and Fawful were and he succeeded. First playing the big bad of Dream Team for a fool by forming an alliance with him only to betray and take everything away from him at the last second. By Paper Jam Bowser has either eliminated any potential competition, has aided in doing so, or Mario did it for him. Since no bad guy is able to compete with Bowser anymore Bowser has ascended to an absolute immoral tyrant with the only people he supposedly cares about being Peach and Junior. It's these family ties that keep Bowser on the boarder of the moral event horizon without dipping in complete monster territory however to his enemies he is absolutely terrifying. He has established an empire, much of the world in Paper Jam is now under his control sort of like what happened when Fawful took over, Bowser has resorted to slavery of Toads and locked them in jail as well as forced them to mine Fire Ore, has threatened to burn the book that contains Paper Mario and his fellow Paper people (this is bad because there is a world in that book and that would be genocide), but that does not compare to the final act in what Bowser's grand scheme was. He was using the Fire Ore to power his castle. Yes his ultimate weapon of destruction is his own castle which is none other then Neo Bowser Castle. Yep. The same castle that used to belong to Antasma has been salvaged and reconstructed into Bowser's ultimate end game plan. The castle is armed with numerous cannons and flanked by numerous Airships that are all capable of targeting any major land mark in the kingdom as well as a main cannon. To test the fire power of his castle he fires a giant cannonball at Peach's Castle without giving a crud seriously injuring some Toads while those that weren't injured struggle to be optimistic and then you have some that say things like "This isn't the first time this happened." Well many people do not like the Toads I cannot help but feel kind of bad for them in that scene. One Toad was trying to help out his injured friend. Thankfully none of the Toads were...well...defeated quite surprisingly but still it amazes me that something like that happened. I guess extra credit for being really evil goes to Iggy as well. We all know Iggy is the crazy guy of the group. I mean he pats his butt or makes these odd and crazy mannerisms usually before fighting Mario. Well Iggy decided towards the end of the game that "Hey maybe Peach's Castle didn't get it the first time. Let's fire the main cannon again at the castle. That will show them." This starts a mission where you actually have to briefly stop with your infiltration of Bowser's now flying fortress to head back and deactivate the castle's main cannon before Iggy destroys the castle. Even King Boo who is now hailed as a sadist that loves to mess with people using visual trickery and illusions as of Dark Moon even got in on the fun and King Bob-omb even got a makeover running a secret mountain operation that manufactured much of the papercrafts and flinging said objects from atop the mountain. At first glance this doesn't seem like much but soon the cardboard and paper overtakes everything and this is a sign that King Bob-omb is spreading his influence over those areas. When the bros finally confront the Big Bob-omb he explains that nobody is supposed to know of this and threatens to blow up the entire platform which would not only take out the Bros but also take himself out along with the other minions operating the papercraft cannon and some were even saying that this was a crazy idea. Bowser and his minions weren't fooling around anymore.
Jmario232 To add to this, Paper Bowser had no qualms with destroying his own world to get rid of the plumbers.

What's even scarier is you as Mario and Luigi allowed this to happen. When you were fighting all those new bad guys in Mario & Luigi RPG 1 through 4 you were basically removing more and more bad guys from the rogues gallery. Potential competition to Bowser that while evil were also keeping Bowser in check and preventing him from rising to power. But one by one you were ending the game of each one of them and in the case of the third game indirectly by helping Bowser directly. You defeated Cackletta. You defeated Elder Princess Shroob and Princess Shroob as well as her entire army. You defeated Fawful. You helped Bowser defeat Midbus and Dark Star/Dark Bowser. After all this all that remained was Antasma The Bat King. With the declining rate of the competitors Bowser began to grow wise and saw this as an opportunity. He pretends to win Antasma over and act like he is his friend only to get what he wants. He knows that as another bad guy he is doomed to Game Over at the hands of the Mario Bros like those before him so he leaves him to his enemies to die while he escapes with the Dream Stone and Antasma's game does indeed end by the hands of Mario and Luigi just like everyone else before him. With no more bad guys left there was no obstacles left for Bowser to establish complete dominion over the kingdom. You let Bowser rise into power because you single handedly ended the games of all the other bad guys that were holding him back. Defeating Antasma was the last nail in the coffin. Now the entire kingdom is doomed to an eternal cycle of torment, destruction and chaos. Why? These are Koopa Troop villains we are talking about. These aren't your typical monster of the week villains that show up for one game are defeated and that's it. No. Koopa Troop villains are a whole new can of worms. Bowser and his followers even if you destroy them in even the most gruesome of ways they will always and I mean ALWAYS find a way to come back. So you destroy Bowser and his followers and win one day. Next day he's back from the dead with his army once more. In other words you just screwed the kingdom over for eternity against the one main bad guy in the Mario series who along with his followers can never truly die and now he is an actual threat because you helped him to become one. Way to go heroes. Way to go.
Considering they would rather face off against Bowser again instead of these new threats from my own opinions.
Cackletta is a really powerful enemy that has no remorse for not only destroying her homeland's sole kingdom not once, but twice over all for something that can grant any wish and was able to physically and mentally take over Bowser with her soul and thanks to the efforts of her and Fawful, they were able to brainwash practically EVERY ONE of Bowser's forces save for a few from how M&LSS+BM played that sub plot out.
The Shroobs however are another story as while the cast have gone through some strange events such as wishes no longer grantable, Bowser lifting Peach's Castle on top of his own (castleception?) and some others, there was never a situation that involved otherworldly beings which their destructive capabilities were just brought out in full force right at the start and the scary part was it happened in some side point in the past as there have been no such mention of them for the present until a link has been unknowingly created and what's frighting from what the small mothership segment brings out is how they are not just satisfied with conquering an entire kingdom and it's land, they want to conquer the present of those two as well. Nobody was prepared for the situation as every single location has been ravaged by these beings aside from Bowser Jr though that's not to say they would go after his territory later.
Fawful's return is a means to an end from how he wants to complete his fallen master's plans with taking over operations wanting to start with the Mushroom Kingdom first and he has directly succeeded from fooling Bowser to remove the greatest obstacles that were in his way from the moment they met, Mario and Luigi. He was able to not only seize control on Peach's Castle, but also Bowser's at the same time while also hypnotizing his troops, again, though there were factions that were able to resist though have gotten captured. He is completely driven so much that he's more unhinged than before to even risk his very life to infuse the dark power onto himself and even when he loses his physical form, the identity of that insane, beanish assistant still lives on...
The Dark Star is something of a more primal essence that has existed only to shroud the world in darkness not caring for any being that would get in his way.
Haven't really gotten much for Antasma from not finishing Dream Team yet but you can get my opinions on that one.

Paper Bowser would probably survive even Mega Mario bros pull from each side.

M&L: Dream Team + PM: Sticker Star.
Just finished the game. It was a fine addition to the series and was a lot of fun. My only real criticism is that the paper element felt oddly underutilized (despite the paper crafts which were still fairly fun). How great would it have been if a good portion of the game took place in paper Mario's world?

@@thundrr1929 Exactly. Fawful and Dimentio worked so well because of the context of their stories. If they brought them back it wouldn't be the same. They're not like Bowser who was designed to be able to be slapped into as many games as Nintendo wants; their stories are over.

wow i never see a boss battle like that but Nintendo gets points for making the best final boss so far..why do i say that because
1.the theme is awesome
2. bowsers armor made him cool
3. its one of the hardest bosses now because the durability on his armor
4. this boss took me a hour to defeat without easy mode
5. finaly the design of this boss was the same as mario 64 DS
Gotta say, I didn't expect the two bowsers to fuse like that, but it was pure genius. Can't wait to get this game.

I was really hopping that the book would burn or be destroyed ending the Paper Mario series. I never liked the idea of turning Mario, Bowser co. into paper. Oh well at least they aren't the REAL Mario and co. and that's great!!! Also EXTREMELY glad that the Paper series isn't canon or even the real Mario.
Not a fan of the ending... Bowser's Inside Story was 100 times better. Anyway this game is very good, Mushroom Kingdom at it's purist seeing there are no original characters. These are the only reasons stopping me from giving it a 10/10.

Is anyone thinking what the next game may be??? I think that Mario and Luigi Paper Jam needs a POV from Paper Mario’s Worlds view,like...how did Paper Mario feel when he met Mario and Luigi,Paper Mario rarely speaks in this game so that’s what I think!

SashaStargazing I believe the only game that saves after the final boss is PiT.
The reason it takes you to right before the final boss is because that was your last save, in case you want to replay the final boss, and because there's no content in the game after the final boss. Partners in Time is the only one that saves after the final boss, but that's because Shrowser shows up which is a "boss" you can die on, and if you died and had to refight Princess Shroob and both phases of Elder Princess Shroob again, it would be unfair. Either way you can still refight Elder Princess Shroob at any time through a save block, so it doesn't make a big difference to the game.
When Luigi is giant he can just sit on the Bowsers.
