I really appreciate the way Games Done Quick has changed the way they edit these videos compared to previously when there was a lot of wait before the runner introduction and start. Thanks for appending the wait to the end !
This was such a surprisingly wholesome run. I could tell how nervous the runner was at the start, but they got into it after a while, did a _fantastic_ job. And because they were the run to happen at the $2 Million mark _and_ have the Zelda incentive met right at the end, their reaction to all that was super wholesome and makes me smile watching it even now.
Great to see a Brazilian running in AGDQ! I've probably seen dark souls runs about a Brazilion times by now... And they are always great! Great job NYK_STYLE

What a delightful run! I had no clue the rapier was so powerful in this wonderful game... The moment the stream goes into slo-mo for the boss fight around the 40 minute mark was both unfortunate and hilariously timed. I love GDQ runs because it's great to see someone so skilled and practiced having to recover from errors or surprises (like that chest backstab) on the fly! I'm so impressed! Also the runner did so well without a support couch / broadcaster to talk through the tricks for the audience. Must be WAY harder to both concentrate on getting through the game AND actively explain things when you can. Also also holy crap that final fight and goal timing was impeccable!

The things happening this run were amazing. Broke 2 million, TB Skyen came in with a donation, technical issues, and Link to the Past bonus being unlocked at the moment the run ended.
This was the first Souls game where I started to really get it. Too potato to FINISH it, because I get too nervous/anxious and in my own head over it... but it'll always be one of my favorites. The only thing I hated about it was the limited respawns, because I didn't have the talent or focus to do a proper Company of Heroes run to remove that limitation. This was an incredible run, though, and Nyk may have had bad luck but it never once looked like it. Hope he gets that next WR he's been chasing!
I wasn't aware that the runner was Brazilian until he started counting numbers in perfect Portuguese, upon which I looked to the screen and saw his clearly Brazilian soccer shirt
If only i'd known how to speedrun this absolute atrocity of a game then the torture would have been over much faster haha. I beat every boss for soulsborne completion's sake but this game truly does deserve it's terrible reputation.
so happy to hear people say ds2 is the best, i think its the best too, i just quit ds3 for good, after playing this game for 550hrs, i know everything about this game and i like the story but i hate playing it, ds1 have really bad places, bloodborne is not long enough and elden ring is too big and 90% of the game is useless, demons souls is really fun but its too short and feels like a beta game, sekiro is really really good but end bosses are too tough. my ranking is like this: ds2, sekiro, elden ring, bloodborne, ds1, demon's souls, ds3. sorry ds3, i love you but i don't like playing with you

Normally, I don't partake in the "Which dark souls is the best" questions, but I feel like I need to say it now. It's Dark Souls 2, only because of Twinblades, neither 1 or 3 had any, if all 3 games had Twinblades, then I wouldn't be able to decide.

Popping souls in the face of a boss's opening move is the BIGGEST flex of this entire run. 11:10 for anyone curious.

This was the first Souls game where I started to really get it. Too potato to FINISH it, because I get too nervous/anxious and in my own head over it... but it'll always be one of my favorites.
