fun fact with the mini black holes:
Since black holes evaporate due to Hawking radiation if a mini black hole was made in a hydron collider it would evaporate within a fraction of a second and wouldn't get the chance to do any harm
Best comment here. People hear stuff on news and the internet and hate cern. We may not know exactly what’s going to happen but we have a very good idea on the logical issues that could arise.
Until it does!
Famous last words "it shouldn't have been able to do that..."
A black hole will evaporate instantly if it is less than 1/10 of the moon's mass. And even if it is bigger, it will evaporate very fast. Smaller the Black Hole, the faster it will evaporate due to Hawking's radiation.
How many black holes have you seen do this?
As a child of the 1960's in Minnesota, one winter we were told not to eat the snow as it could be radioactive due to atmospheric atomic weapons tests.
Did you listen?
@@korycard6187 I think if he's above the age of 62 he probably listened.
what
Your not suppose to eat snow anyways because snow is dirt. That could get u sick so basically even if the snow was radioactive ur not suppose to eat snow anyways
Jeez, as if snow doesn't melt into rivers the soil we depend on. Wish everyone agreed to stop inventing ways to kill each other.

I live in n Las Vegas I've recently discovered that they used to routinely detonate nuclear bombs close enough to Vegas that everyone could easily see the mushroom clouds. In fact there were tour groups set up just for people to be able to witness nuclear explosions. It's a miracle we've made it this far.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas
And the reason they stopped the nuclear tests there and moved them a few hundred miles north was because Howard Hughes complained about them to President Eisenhower in the late 50's.
Yeah, the people of St George are compensated by the government for those mistakes
Sadly there was areas in USA were people in the beginning of those nuke tests who died in different radioactive diseases.
In 2010, a report by the Los Alamos Historical Document and Retrieval Assessment Project concluded that radiation in some areas in New Mexico after the Trinity test was 10,000 times higher than what was considered safe exposure levels. The Center for Disease Control and the Los Alamos National Laboratory found that New Mexicans were never warned about the Trinity test nor provided safety or dietary precautions after the blast.
Scientists had offered credible warnings regarding the dangers of radioactive fallout from the atomic bomb since 1940; nevertheless, a public safety team was not established until a month before the Trinity test. Downwinders estimate that families lived as close as 12 miles to the test site, with thousands more residing in a 50 mile radius. Alvin Weinberg, director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory during the Trinity test, recalled in his memoir that, outside of national security, “all else, including safety, was secondary.

The fact that men would detonate an atomic bomb into the atmosphere is more than frightening. It's a wonder we've survived as a species.
Fr tho lmao
this is the reason why lists that show ways the earth/human race will die have a suprsingly large number of self made issues.
It was our toddler phase as a species. Not to sound crude, but those crotch goblins are resilient!
Well I wouldn't cash that check just yet.
Not to worry, our elected officials and the Dept of Defense in particular are doing everything in their power to make sure that won't happen.
Our survival, that is.

As our technology improves the chances we destroy ourselves keeps going up as well. I would say the future has a very high potential for a huge man made disaster due to war.
Give us time, they are still trying. 🤔
The thing is that we have killed ourselves over and over again, have you looked at the grave yard lately, took notice on how many stupid wars are happening?
When I lived on an army base from 1998 to 2001, I discovered that the government and specifically the military, has technologies that were decades away from the public having access to it.
Face time, keyless computers(tablets), bluetooth, auto parking cars and drones for people to buy are small examples.

And you know how hard it is to find people who have such advanced tastes as these people have.
But you also know that if they go the Sodom and Gomorrah route, this time it will be Global and this time there will be no where for Lot to lead anyone. They keep choosing to slave themselves to the Darkness and the Dark One and that has consequences.
Who knows? Maybe the big guys will go for another Noah cleansing. It was good for, what?, 4,000 years? So there are two mines off the coast of Tybee Island and an nuke not to far away from that their are grenades up and down the Savannah River. Just think next time your driving to Tybee where the original road used to be and how it has moved over 10 to 15 feet instead of going back where the original was the why they found several mortars close to the second bridge and moved workers away from possibly causing a explosion. Along with tunnels sealed shut with the bodies of people who had uncureable viruses. There are hundreds of unexploded mortar rounds across the marsh lands of Fort Mcallister in Richmond Hill down by the Henry Ford Plantation. I never knew that a nuclear test was done in space. For last 45 years, I always thought it was illegal from start. Didn't know actually was done first and now that's why it is illegal.

Yes I felt like I crossed into a parallel world with a different history when I heard about that.
Wonder how that effected the ozone layer...
If you think that's worrying, look up Project Orion a serious proposal from the 1950s to use atomic bombs as a propulsion system for spacecraft. We are really lucky that project got dropped. A rocket is dangerous enough as is if it fails during launch, it'd be so much worse if it were to be filled with dozens, possibly HUNDREDS of nuclear warheads.

I'm confused about the first one, the deep hole in the ground. How exactly could that have ended the world?
Maybe they can dig it into the core and they were terrified that the earth's core will cool down
Maybe it effect the rocks beneath the surface
good theories although we already have Volcanoes which as far as we can tell don't cool the earths core. The didn't even hit the mantle, and the biggest hole was narrow enough to be structuraly sound baring an earthqauke.
My thought on that would be splitting the earth!
Unlike a volcano that burns everything that near it, manually digging a hole in the mantle can have very different results. You might find an oil deposit or natural gas deposit both of which you can accidentally ignite with the drill. Given that the area has no volcano around to naturally burn things, if they encounter a gas deposit, there will likely be a few other spots near it and igniting one may create a chain reaction that will create an earthquake and you imagine the rest. Anyway, chances are low but never zero. Or the hole itself can collapse and create an underground landslide that will have similar results as the explosion.
Thank you for entertaining me for three years now be amazed! :-)
Hell, all these experiments are scary, while we may have been lucky, any experiment could have, and can go wrong, and last time I checked we don't have another planet to escape to
