  • With a combined cast of over 40 individuals from all walks of life-entertainers, athletes, government officials and advocates-the NO MORE PSA Campaign offers a simple call to action:
    NO MORE excuses.
    NO MORE silence.
    NO MORE violence.
    To coincide with the launch of the three-year campaign, NO MORE released new data that uncovers the wide prevalence of domestic violence and sexual assault and the shocking silence and inaction around these issues, underscoring the urgent need for bystander involvement. The study can be viewed here: nomore.org/nomo....
    In lending their voices to this campaign, the cast invites everyone to join them in saying NO MORE.

      For whatever reason, society has decided to give women a pass on domestic abuse because most of them have the emotional stability of a five year old. A woman beating a cheating boyfriend is 'empowering & justified'. A man beating a cheating girlfriend will get him shunned by society and land him behind bars. It's absolutely insane.

      ***** I'm curious to hear your response here.... It seems like women who speak on 'women's issues' have absolutely no clue how many men are victims of the same issues. You mention statistics, so I want you to find some statistics for me. According to the CDC, what percentage of of domestic violence victims are male....? Also, what percentage of rape victims in the United States are male.....? Do your research and respond accordingly. Look forward to hearing your answers.

      ***** Why didn't you answer my questions? LOL! I had a feeling you wouldn't be bold enough to do it. These PSAs target men as the aggressors and women as victims. Yes, they exclude male victims. Reading between the lines?? I see nothing that implies that men are victims of DV as well. Vilifying men and victimizing women is a constant trend with today's feminized society. How does that fix 'these issues' for men??? Do you really think that people AREN'T aware of male-on-female domestic violence? Are you serious?? Awareness?? What are you even talking about? We're all aware! What people AREN'T aware of is the LARGE percentage of males who are abused by their female partner. THAT'S what needs awareness! Why is there not a 'no more' commercial were men are alluded to as the victims? Why isn't that commercial aired during daytime soaps?? No one gives a FUCK about the male victims. NO ONE! Females are constantly labelled as victims while men are laughed at by society and told to 'man up'. It's a joke. Tell me, where is the commercial aimed at educating the public that men makeup nearly half of all domestic violence victims??? Where is it? I can't find it. Read my last post, and answer my questions like a dignified human being. What percentage of domestic violence victims are male? Take a look at the last CDC on domestic violence for your answer. What percent of rape victims are male...? Here's a hint: 'prison inmates'. Still looking forward to reading your answers. Unfortunately, I suspect you'll once again avoid my questions, dodge a logical discussion and post another generic response about 'awareness'. The topic of discussion is the lack of attention paid to male domestic violence victims in the 'no more' ads. Stay on topic.

      im not sure of the numbers but i know that the US is the only country where male rape victims outnumber female victims. its strange how women try to justify a lack of attention paid to any kind of male victimization. apparently only women can be victims. it is a joke

      Chet Lemon Hey, how about instead of bitching and moaning "wahh men get it too" why don't actually do something about it? Stop it with the victim mentality. Get off your ass, spread awareness and let's make domestic violence a thing of the past *for everyone!*

    No more:
    "He cheated on her, so he deserved it."
    "He should've known women get very emotional at times."
    "Next time, he'll think twice about contacting his ex."
    "She didn't hit him that hard so it doesn't really count."
    "Men can take that kind of abuse, so it's okay."
    "He shouldn't have ignored her."
    "She's just really passionate about the relationship."
    "He really shouldn't have been so emotionally hurtful. I would've hit him too."

    As someone who supported the great idea of a different and unifying symbol (No More), after its rollout of its PSAs/posters and (worse) the Katie Couric show on launch day (which was a whole hour on female victims and male perps), I have pulled down the symbol from my FB/Twitter and stopped using it and have apologized to male survivors I know because the PSAs left out revealing male victimization. I hope No More/JHF add a couple soon. If not, then their true agenda wll be more than obvious.

    Men's rights are human rights. Telling half the truth is lying about the omitted other half. And decent human beings will want to help ALL those who need our help.

    The No More symbol was supposed to be a universal symbol to help bring attention to and end ALL domestic violence/sexual abuse. Instead, it's become a one-sided, clear attempt to discuss female victims while TOTALLY and hurtfully failing to give gender-specific references to male VICTIMS in its PSA videos/posters--which is why this piece focused on women victims. I pulled down my No More symbols, as it is now a painful symbol to male victims that they are still "at the back of the bus".

  • @terryknight5869
    @terryknight5869 9 лет назад +2

    I'd also like to add that I agree about not blaming the victim. No more why didn't she leave or say anything or whatever else. I agree, no more excuses. But at the same time the double standard is there again. For everybody else it's he had it coming or why didn't this person do something or that guy didn't deserve that but he swam with sharks so he got bitten. Once again the knife should cut both ways. Also, shouldn't the woman or the man be responsible for something? The man shouldn't have put his hands on her but shouldn't she have left or called the cops or not started it? Something? The woman was wrong to ruin a marriage but shouldn't the man not have been talking to that other woman? Now for the record when I say she provoked it I'm talking about him slapping or hitting or pushing her or whatever but nothing hat would hurt her severely or kill her. Obviously I'm not saying to abuse her or seriously hurt her. I'm not saying to hurt her at all. Once again it's wrong but at the same time women provoke just like men. Also, when a woman gets mad at a man she hits or fights the man but no one says anything, and if they say anything they say she's a hero. No more. No more getting mad and saying ''Why do black people say the N word but get mad when other races saying it?,'' yet women get away with yet another double standard like calling each other the B word but getting mad when men say it. No more calling a man a punk when he hits a woman because when he hits a man no one calls him a punk then. If he hits a woman and not a man he's a punk. What about if he hits a man and not a woman? Is he a punk then? What about when she does or says whatever because, frankly, she's a woman and she knows she can get away with it because she's a woman? Is she a punk? She starts it then when he retaliates shes a victim. Is she a punk? No more.

    All these No More videos (4 in total) come across like commercials for the National Organization for Women, rather than a commercial to bring attention to (all) domestic violence and sexual assault, across-the-board. Since part of their target audience is supposed to be men, not just women, all 4 are poor PR strategies for that.

    These videos, all, are so one-sided that it ends up being a video about women victims and male abusers, instead of also providing fair information about men and boys who are victimized, too. I can't imagine too many men who won't feel offended that these videos didn't also mention male victims and female abusers, which is a fact of life.

  • @marikaplan8115
    @marikaplan8115 11 лет назад

    Do you know that violence and sexual abuse occurs against men and boys, too, including BY women/girls? I know you wouldn't know this by these videos, because they are not showing the whole picture and are unfair in that respect. All domestic/partner violence and sexual assault needs to end no matter who is the perpetrator and who is the victim.

    Wow, this video especially, but all the others, can be very offensive to men, because they are full of statements about female victims and men being the abuser, but none clearly go to men being abused and women sometimes abusing. The stats of men abused as adults or as boys are some 1-in-6, so why did NO MORE and JOYFUL HEART NOT mention them and do so several times?! Go back and add some clips about male victims or your symbol and campaign will fail for sure.

    GENTLEMEN: Know why the movie "SALT" with Anjolina Jolie was such a SUCCESS with women???? Because the female lead kills thirty-seven (37) men (count them!) and does not make love or kiss one man? SALT was touted as the female version of the James Bond series where James Bond character came under fire from feminists because he dared make love to a woman, maybe more if he's lucky. SALT tells men exactly what the female mind thinks of men....

    I understand why it is mainly for women, because it is usually women that have to deal with it. But it isn't only women that deal with it. There are horrible women out there too. I would know because I had to deal with it as a small child. I was abused verbally, physically, and worst of all sexually by my mother. My father also physically and verbally abused me. So don't be blind and think boys don't deal with it and that men are the only bad ones.

    It's sad how many people get offended by these commercials and seem to think aknowledging domestic violence is some feminist attack against men. Yes, there are abusive women and they're dealt with like abusive men, it's just less common which is why you don't hear of it as much and there's less action taken against it. Instead of playing these mental gymnastics, victimizing men, or cherry picking obscure cases of women lying about it to try to convince everyone that aknowledging domestic violence is just some feminist attack against men, you should really just identify yourself as who you are, a bunch of self centered pricks providing protection for abusers. When domestic violence against women ceases to exist or gets outnumbered by domestic abuse against men you can make a valid claim that this is just feminist propaganda.

    • @hoodrichmahfucka
      @hoodrichmahfucka 9 лет назад +1

      truemetalhead less common eh... what a broad brush you paint with .. considering the fact that women are statistically more prone to initiate violence against men ...... Then seeing nothing but campaigns showing men as bullies and women always ass victims ... Get your fucking head out of your ass and take a real long fucking look in that mirror. By those merits alone... proves beyond a reasonable doubt this is a feminist and white knight attack against men to demonize them and make them soft subservient slaves to the agenda of these Marxist totalitarians.

      AARON NUSBAUM: NO. Women abusers are not dealt with like men...that's why these men are complaining. You and this PSA are intentionally giving WOMEN A PASS. When you ignore women's violent acts against men and little boys and you only look at the bad acts of men and you only address men in your videos and PSAs, you are causing the Police to also ignore women's violent acts. Therein just BEGINS the problem. Men already can't get a fair trial in criminal court because the majority of juries are made up of a majority of women. Many many women view men as EVIL (in other words, innocent until proven guilty goes out the window). I have even had one female juror say that 'every time she sees a man walking alone in the park at night that she knows that man is there to rape a woman or murder her." The female judge should have disqualified her under preemptory challenge but didn't. She sat on the jury. Convicted. Reversed on appeal.

    • @terryknight5869
      @terryknight5869 9 лет назад +2

      Yep is right. That is exactly what it is. It is a complaint about the struggles on whining men who call women on their flaws, their double standards and their crap and are sick and tired of women who are always portrayed as saints and always boohooing about always being the victims and the man always doing this to them or treating them this way or doing certain things. And God forbid we say a woman does bad things or is the bad one. You're right. The men always do wrong, always abuse, always cheat, etc. Let's just ignore the fact of how it's funny how you can talk about men boohooing as they state facts and bash women on their baggage, which is once in a while because they can suck it up and deal it and go on with our lives, when women are always boohooing and crying about men and their baggage. It must be so difficult being female today, being about to get away with a lot of things- including things that men can't get away with (shocker), and things that not even blacks and minorities get away with like special treatment. Well, minorities try to get away with it and sometimes succeed, but unlike females they always get bashed for it. It must be such a drag being able to show emotions, express feelings, act crazy and violent ,etc., things that would label men gay and psychopathic. And of course someone would make the response you did and the way you did it to the very few who tell the truth. Lovely. Yeah lets keep the message of awareness but ignore the annoying portrayal of double standards, stereotypes, ignorance, ''suffering,'' and ''oppression'' of women-I'm sorry victims. yep.

      Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. 71% of child abuse is committed by mothers acting alone, 52% of trafficked children are boys, women have had a voice for centuries, women are treated as more important than men as evidenced from men being required to protect and provide for women in every culture in the world, and women regularly receive lighter sentences than men for committing the exact same crimes.

      Lexi Peters
      "men are circumcised in the us but it does nothing to there [sic] health." Wrong. Wrong, wrong, WRONG. Baby boys have been known to lose portions of their penises, or even the entire penis to circumcision. The process is so traumatic, they often defecate during it. And yes, sometimes they die. "Women who are circumcised bleed out during. The procedure [sic]" So do baby boys who are circumcised. "and if they do make it they experience painful intercourse have pain while urinating and often die during childbirth plus there [sic] forced into it." With the exception of childbirth, every single one of those things applies to male circumcision as well. Why are you being so incredibly one-sided here? "Plus women are raped in prison by the male guards as well". Wrong. Nearly all of those encounters are consensual. And besides, there are far more male prisoners.
      Either you're completely ignorant (which wouldn't surprise me given that you have the grammar of a sixth grader), or you harbor some sort of irrational hatred for men. Either way, you need to get a clue.
