I used to cuddle with my mom a lot. But since she died 5 years ago ..I haven't cuddled with anyone. I haven't been really touched for a long period of time. This has caused a lot of stress, tension, sadness and anxiety in my body.
And just yesterday I cuddled with someone for the first time after 5 years. And omg it felt sooo relaxing..soo lo good. And just today when I woke woke up I could already feel a huge difference in my body. The tension I used to feel everyday is now gone! Just incredible. I feel lighter and relieved.
The power of touch is amazing!

1:12 "The hand has the ability to be an extension of the heart."
3:23 "Touch is ten times stronger than any verbal or emotional contact."
8:28 The results of this study were startling to me as I have always thought of people in Miami as very tactile--lots of cheek kisses and hugs. Perhaps, though, that is just in comparison to people in the rest of the country.

Hand - extention of the heart. Gives and receives. Receives while giving. ❤

Thinking about no touch policy within school what a loss of human skills!

    • @miglena2s

@@serenalamagna3637 we lost and we are continuing loosing in the world where human needs are understood so wrong and human skills are not what they should be. The good thing (if any), is that once the bottom has been reached there is only one way to go. Ballance will be restored. Again. Love and Peace. 🙏🏻❤

This is why covid is having such bad mental health effects. It's led to touch hunger, with people isolated. Screens - being online - is not a substitute for touch. We need to get back to meeting close and hugging.

I love to massage people, and I often give massages to my friends with there consent of course. But lots of people including my family think that is weird

I have an old highschool friend with mental health problems who has isolated herself for years, but agreed to let me come visit. She normally takes anti anxiety medication, Ativan, and was on it the first time I visited. I was able to give her a hug and caress her hand, she responded similarly. I went back a few wks later, her meds had run out and her response was entirely different. She stiffened when I gave her a light hug. Not long after she said she didn't want anyone to touch her and the visit went downhill from there. She is irritable, depressed, has anxiety, afraid of people and being outside, trouble sleeping, has fibromyalgia and god knows what else. Oh, chronic pain in her neck. She's a real case study and none of her old friends want anything much to do with her---except I did. Unfortunately, she now said she wants our "relationship" to end. Ironic considering she'd told me earlier on that one way or another she had alienated everyone who cared or wanted to help her.

Hi jane. I am commited to bringing supportive nurturing touch into the UK and have set up an organisation called The conscious touch foundation. Im particularly looking to work with babies and young children hospitalised or estranged from touch opportunities. Id love to know more research around this and also welcome any volunteer opportunities or existing services where i can experience more good practice to build on. thank you

It doesn't help that pandemic has made us isolate ourselves even more than previously. 6 ft apart. 6 ft away from happiness...
