Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Valve. It consists of nine classes, Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy, and two teams, Red and Blu. The teams try to take the others' objective, such as an intelligence brief case, or a control point.

TF2 is very playable again after years, it doesn't seem like the summer update had any extra-special nail-in-the-coffin anti-cheat measures though. Seems like Valve has been adding one or two little anti-cheat measures to every minor update even, and they've started to add up, along with rising player counts throwing the bots into obscurity.
Well it's hard to make any serious anti-cheat stuff without either creating privacy concerns or catching crack-shots in the crossfire imo

Honestly they should just add a captcha, boom no bots until they figure out a way to bypass it in like 2 weeks.
That's basically what an anti-cheat is, every keystroke and mouse movement is a captcha.
@@ZealotTF2 but in this case a literal captcha would be more useful than vac.
If we're already at the point of each bot hoster only hosting one bot per pc, the human behind it could just press the captcha for it.

It should also be noted that some major hosters (such as BoatRolling Inc), have quit. And Valve sends someone to manually VAC bots like every two-three weeks (I'm not too sure if this is still the case but this was happening for a good while earlier this year and last year).
Can't believe after all these years I actually have hope for Valve and TF2
I want to say that it's ending but they have proven to be pretty resilient
And i still find a bot on my first game after not playing for 1 month
a bot sniper joined my 2fort match and he sucked, he kept missing his shots even with aimbot
If only these “changes” reflected my experience last night where I was only able to get a good 2 matches and it was only VSH; otherwise, it was bots galore
Starting to see a new problem though. Every other game has cheaters in it, who have aimlock/crit-storing/wallhacks. They’re much harder to detect and they often join in groups of 2 or 3.
True. I have seen multiple heavies with very obvious aimlock in just one evening. Usually they are rare.
I've also had that issue, although they are fairly blatant. Force-a-nature instant double shot with full crit hacks seems like one of their favorites.
@@ZealotTF2 CS2 can manage random spread of the first shot server side, so in theory it should be possible to move crits compositely server side too. But TF2 netcode must be ancient, so the crits hacks are probably here to stay forever. Also melee animations might have be redone for that. Wallhacks can also be crippled. I know in CSGO you can't see enemy models behind 2 or more walls, because server doesn't send this information. Only in spectator you can see more.
If they get rid of the bots I wonder if tf2 will make its way back into the public eye again

I still see bots in servers from time to time. They are super annoying.
Maybe valve should start to allow free to play to chat now things are under control 🤔

I gotten in 8 matches with bots yesterday, I had to play VSH for an hour until the bots died down enough so that I can play badwater without getting sniped from another country.
Tf2’s biggest botter also got arrested recently. So tf2 is saved
The fact that one of the botters got arrested for possession of control points should tell you the kind of scum we're dealing with.
How sick does someone need to be to have **Control Points** on their computer

It's small but it's one step closer to a bot-free or near bot-free TF2, and when that day comes, when all the bots are sent to the deepest pits of hell, ITS PARTY TIME!
Still wondering why the botters are so damn tenacious about ruining this game, after literal YEARS. If they put that tenacity into something productive, they could be successful cornerstones of their communities. But why do that if you can just waste electricity having bots cheat at a game 24/7/365, right?

Honestly, I like Zealot, but he always sounds like he's doing a really bad Jim Carrey Grinch impression at the start.
All 5 matches i joined today had multiple bots in them so we couldn't even kick them. Its worse than ever. Casual is unplayable right now.
That's weird for me all of the servers I've been playing in have been swarmed with bots

wth are you talking about? Every match i played today turned into a bot kicking simulator. Sometimes the bots joined faster than we could kick them.
The bots now have randomized usernames which forces you to die to the bot 1st in order to see if they are a bot or not
Explain to me the bots that keep kicking people and telling people to press f1 then.

Or you can put boots to hunt them. For example, if he chose a sniper, he can kill him with an unscannable spy. They chose spy, it can make pyro. In this way, it can be a boron anti-bot.

no they are quite literally being banned i was in a server full of "sydneys" like entire match full no one was real besides me and they all got banned before my eyes
No matter what you do, this will never be the solution. One of the programs in the world can open these protection walls. They must have level 0 stealth, completely invisible. Because there are programmers on equal footing with them.

I don't know who told you about the "multiple instances on the same computer" being blocked, because that is just wrong. fire-jail can still sanbox TF2, as well as sandboxie (with VAC Bypass). lol

yeah they didn't fix anything, it just went away for a while because player numbers spiked with the update. had 4 successive servers today full of bots.
