Black is now available. Got mine last week. Quite happy with it.

The hub doesn’t have the option for ir blasters, so you’re screwed if you have components inside a cabinet.

I was considering the Sofabaton X!S but I noticed a couple buttons above the screen, including the 'back' button....which seems like a deal breaker. Have you compared the Sofabaton to this unit?....w/ hub it's half the price of Sofabaton. I'm really just looking to control Hometheater devices...TV/Preamp/Bluray/FireTV/PS5...lighting and other automation perhaps later.

Not tried the sofabaton but that's an odd placement for a couple of buttons. There is a compatibility checker on the switchbot website that lists all the products supported but unless you're trying to control some obscure or very old equipment then I don't think you'd have a problem.

I was hoping to resolve the one power button issue with my switchbot automation not knowing the difference between ON and OFF as all my remote has just the power button that controls both features. Has anyone one been able to configure their automation to handle this?

How on earth did you get this to work with sky stream? I'm not having any luck.

OK, need to ensure you're on the latest firmware on the HUB and the REMOTE and you're using the latest version of the App.
You need to take the Sky remote out of Bluetooth mode and put it into IR mode, I think you hold 4 & 6 down together.
After that you can go through the process of adding it as an IR device in the SwitchBot app, I couldn't get it to work via the templates it automatically found so I just configured the buttons manually.

I bought one last prime day but I haven't opened the box yet. I also bought the new Sofabaton x1s and started the setup but I didn't finish it when it didn't find my 12 year old TV and i had to look for the original remote. All of this in the hope of replacing my Harmony Elite

Whilst I was filming the video the remote got a big functionality update so it'll probably be quite different from when you bought it. One of the other nice things about this, which I didn't try, is that you can set up a device without the remote which might come in handy with that 12 year old TV, assuming it's on the supported list 🙂

Does it work with Tizen based Samsung tv? I failed to learn NETFLIX & Prime command in Broadlink integration.

Yes mine is a Tizen based Samsung and although the templates offered didn't work it did learn the codes from the remote and worked fine. I probably could have looked up the TV as well as a lot of Samsung TVs are supported.

This is a no-go for me. The hub and and internet connect is weird. I'm not in the switchbot ecosystem, which makes this worse. I wonder if there's a zigbee or native matter (no hub) remote out there? Thanks for the review.

The hub requirement isn't going to be for everyone and I've fed my thoughts back to SwitchBot on this. If you've already got a hub though then it's a good option.
I have seen a couple of other remotes on AliExpress, not sure they're ZigBee but there are some out there.

I would love to see Switch Bot and home assistant get things going better i can definitely see the switch bot remote become the remote that takes over harmony elite and harmony hub spot but in order for them to take that spot adding home assistant cards like harmony has is definitely a top feature needed
I keep seeing some other remotes that pair with home assistant and will even take and use home assistant to control devices that are setup into home assistant and be able to control them
I am hoping Byte of geek if your able to get the new remotes that are out and do a smart home face off challenge with all of the new universal remotes and do a comparison on which is going to be best for the people using home assistant that would be awesome
Plus if you have other eco systems like Google or alexa or apple home kit and homey we can see a face off between all 5 and really see who is at the top for smart home eco systems in 2024 and 2025

I'm sure it will happen, their mini robovac started out the same in Home Assistant and got a huge functionality update the following month and works great now. I agree, the potential for this remote with full HA integration is incredible so fingers crossed.
Yes I've seen some of the other remotes, mainly on AliExpress, and have considered getting some of those for comparison 🙂
All your other points are noted 👍😀
