This is INCREDIBLE!!! I have literally watched every episode in the last month and I am starting over at the beginning to watch the whole series again! The cars, the history behind them, the interviews, the video production. I can't give enough praise to George and his channel! Grace and Peace my friend! Well done!
Ey up from Yorkshire - found this series from the epic 90 minute video of the Range Rover restoration, stayed on for the great cars, the awesome insight in to the methods and kit and of course the fine presenting from yourself! Now time to catch up by watching every episode!
I’ve watched loads of different builders lots of high quality work, process, thought and finish. Low budget filming to high quality film making! But your process and editing is by far the most interesting and gripping!! I first watched your Mercedes W123 restoration. And thoroughly enjoyed it!! Just watched this one and didn’t move till the end!! FANTASTIC!!!
I've just come here from your newest W123 Merc video, going to watch everything from the beginning! Many thanks for the absolute time and quality of your videos.
One of the best things about RUclips is that when you find an interesting series you can immediately find video #1 and see where it all began. Craig at Throttle Stop Garage mentioned your channel, and I watched the video on stop motion first. It grabbed my attention, so I just had to see where it all began. You're almost 3 years after this video, and obviously making it work with no money, no tools, etc. I can't wait to see how in video after video.
You should be on TV! I'm looking forward to seeing much more from you. Thanks for the content - hope this take you to some interesting places in your life.
that's incredible, i was working exactly today on a Pedrazzoli Super Brown tha was purchased used more than 30 years ago from my father . And he has the same exact problem too! What a nice surprise. greetings from italy! Amazing video btw! cheers
Amazing production, my mother had the same range from new back in 89. Unfortunately it was a non runner and sold for €800 in 2003. This production is epic, watching from the start 👍
Had a motorbike project been sitting on for 4 years, became Ill this year and decided to get on with it, i've also been wanting to start a channel and again always found reasons not too. Your videos are amazing and have encouraged me even more.
I am so so pleased I found your channel.. I love the Lotus name the brand and it's product's and history. Especially love the Esprits. I have some quite interesting stories about Lotus and some follow up questions too.
I have found a brother from an Iris? mother. You have inspired me dude! Thank you for your channel! Why has it taken me so long to find you? I'll beck back.
I'm glad sponsors etc. are coming together, keep up the good work on the vehicles and the videos :-) I've posted a link on the RR register group on Facebook, as there should be a number of people out of the 3,500 members that like it. I'd say enjoy the weather in Greece, but for a change it's just as good here. For now anyway! Cheers, Steve
Hope the RR community approve Steve, I don't have a facebook account but I'll see if it's visible anyway. Thanks a mill for sharing, and getting in touch :) (don't forget the sun screen)
PS. Back in '06 when I bought my 2 door I called the RRR to ask whether the dealer I was looking to buy from was reputable. The Register was very helpful. Thanks!
Hi Dude. What an inspiring channel! Im in hospital having a brain tumour removed (hopefully) and my brother sent me a link to this video. I love the way that you feel abut cars overlaps with how I feel about them. Almost 2 years ago i bought a good condition but under maintained 1990 XJ-S V12 Coupe - I had wanted a second car to enjoy. I considered a new Emira and then a 911 GTS - but they were both £80 - £100k and because of their performance capability I knew that I would drive them fast - which ultimately can end in unhappiness - most likely through points. I wanted to have a car that I could enjoy whilst driving at sensible speeds. The XJ-S hot the spot because V12 engines trigger good vibes in mint petrol heads - and also Jaguar were in a revival under John Egan when I was doing my A levels and I followed that and the ETCC / WSC teams around that time. I’m from the Midlands - so that connection means something to me. I like the way that you roll your sleeves up and just get stuck in - I intend to do that but being a perfectionist so far I have sought out experts to do all the work on the car. Whilst that helps me feel that she has been recommissioned well, it has been expensive and I am a bit critical of myself that I have been so hands off so far. I tell myself that this will change over coming years - I think your videos will inspire me to just get stuck in a bit more as jobs come up (e.g. refurbishment of the Independent Rear Suspension). Anyway, your video hit the spot, made me happy and I wish you all the best. Take care. Peter
Sounds like you’re on a mission soon as you get home. That IRS on the Jag is a great project, drop the whole lot out and set about making it like new (prob better than new) the satisfaction will be off the charts. Hope you’re holding up and thanks for the kind words
My brothers first car was a 1967 range rover. Over 100 hours welding alone went into restoring. That was when my family fell for land rovers. 10 years later we have 4 range rovers 2 land rovers and a bunch of other cars
Hi George , I just saw the into photo of the lotus there's a citreon GS in the background is that your car, the first car I put on the road decades ago I traveled many many a happy mile in that old GS years ahead of anything on the road at the time....you have a brilliant, honestly and very optimistic channel for the world be restorer... kindest regards
I just discovered all your work and amazed by the efforts both for restoration and timelapse production.. I am a 1970 Ford Capri 1700 GT owner and also doing hyperlapse projects while I am travelling. I will be following every step of you and say hello from Istanbul, Turkey :)
Talking about getting to know your car, to know what the designers were thinking. In my youth, 1975-sh, I rescued a slightly damaged Europa S2 from a body shop owner who was going to do bad things to it (a real story in itself). Once I fixed the front end damage, I took it to a friend's body shop to get it painted (Porsche medium blue metallic - came out beautiful). Before applying the final color it was sprayed with a coat of sealer which is a medium gray. As I looked at that little Europa sitting there, glass neatly taped up, no badges or bumpers or handles to interrupt the shape you could really see the beauty of the design. What the designer had in mind. Loved that little guy, wish I had it now. If I could even get in it.
Love it Steve. The Europa is such a moment in motoring history, much overlooked and misunderstood. I'd have the little single cam Renault engined one in a heartbeat and be happy to.
Dear George, I just found your channel, and I am very impressed by the quality, and I subscribed instantly, when I saw your cool stop motion effects! I am currently working on a Porsche 356 i've had for 20 years, but which have been standing still for a while. I currently drive a Figaro and a BMW R75. My stash for later projects after the 356 includes a 1966 W111 coupé, a 1967 Citroën DS and a 1971 VW Type 15.
Just got linked through here from Jalopnik. I had no idea there were quality build and restoration videos being produced in Ireland! Delighted to see it, and will definitely catch up on the rest of the episodes.
just finished watching up to ep34. If ever there was an ethos for just getting on and doing, this is it. Nice one man, you're an inspiration to my own projects!
Looking forward to the rest of it! The 2-4hrs a week syndrome gives me hope and potentially light at end of tunnel on mine. Oh and here via Backroads too!
Cheers Michael, the hardest time I find is getting back into it having been away for a while. Just have to force yourself to get stuck in and the inspiration comes back.
Best thing I could hear Mark! Just making a start is all any of us need to do. Best of luck mate and send me a photo (you and and the car) before you start if you like.
Had a look at some episodes just now, there were Golfs in the family for years, starting with a two door Mk2 1.6 auto. Can't be many like that. Don't envy you measuring the seat base mods one side to the other! Good luck with the whole thing.
I just discovered this channel, what good content! Beautiful and well-depicted restorations. unbelievable that this channel has no more subscribers .. anyway I'm a new subsrciber!
I always wanted an Esprit but with a more interesting engine. Something like the BMW 5L V10 stroked out and tuned to rev very very high. It'd suit this car so so much.
Looking through the channel and starting from the beginning...This is a wonderful intro'..It's funny to hear in this video, that you hope this may lead to sponsors because of a funds situation, when in the last and more recent video ,I watched, you had just gotten a sponsorship!! It's also good to hear how you're tackling all of this with regular person tools. I've an '82 300D and a 79' 300CD, I'm going through. Also, inspirational in regard to how you traded your video editing skills for the space.
thank you man!! i have my honda accord 1st gen park for the last 6 months. U help me to start whit it again... Saludos desde Argentina PS: awasome video work!!
Very enjoyable and subscribed. Best of luck with the projects and the channel. That Lotus looks like it will be way too much trouble. I don't mind taking it off your hands and give it some good loving.
I was looking for someone to pawn it off on alright Nigel, not mad about the colour, but the good loving comment makes me think I need to protect it ;)
Hi, George. A week or two ago a good friend sent me a link to your Esprit backbone teardown video and I was hooked. I'm coming back to the beginning and plan to get caught up in the next week or two. I have a long list of projects piled up and have lost a little inspiration over the years, videos with messages like yours help to restore that. Even if I didn't benefit with some boosted energy: you're lovely to listen to and your films are stunning, so please keep going! And the Esprit... what can be said about that masterpiece? Love and peace from wintery Canada!
Hey Matthew! Thanks a mill mate. We've got stormy weather here at the mo but I'm at home now for the holiday to hit the Range Rover as soon as the weather breaks even for a day. I know what it's like mate, I've been trying to clear the slate a bit since summer and the Vogue is a big roadblock at the mo, but we'll all get there sooner or later. It's all about one bit at a time, but you know that ;) Hope the episode catch up works for you mate, they've evolved quite a bit, and I'll hit a balance between length and content very soon. Take care ;)
You don't know the half of it. I've been thinking of a way of starting to explain some more of the less car related but profound stuff, in the behind the scenes clips. Cheers Ray
Cheers! Best of luck with the boat. I've caulked the hull of a 60ft cat, the joint was a little more user friendly than yours but took a straight day and a half up a scaffold on the hard in Morocco. I'd guess about 130ft of cutting out and reapplying sika.
Great video George, a bit like wheeler dealers without the 'old owt yeer aand' sales bit. Looking forward to the Esprit build (what a beautiful car) and the RR too. Best of luck.
I think I may have discovered you just in time. After a glass too many, I bid £3 more than anyone else online. And now own a Mercedes , its in the garage, I've not been in there since as I have no idea what to do with it. I know its a bit rotten because while I was pretending to know what I was doing when I picked it up, I noticed I could see into the interior of the car from underneath. Whats the worst that can happen right?
THIS IS LIKE MAGIC VIDEO EDITING AND ILLUSTRATING A LOT OF THOUGH WENT IN TO EACH VIDEO IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING DONE SO WELL, THIS BEATS ANY VIDEO FOR RESTORATIONS, WELL DONE WHATS THE TECHNIQUE CALLED IN YOUR EDITING TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE MAGIC
I'm here from Ronald Finger's Q&A video. You're one of his recommended favorite channels!
Same. So far so good.
Same.
Same
As am I!
Thanks for the support, great shout from Ronnie :)
Ahh 7 years later and you're getting back into the Lotus. At last. And the colour was Silver with Red interior. Nice.
Why this channel has so few followers is beyond me. Amazing work and editing. Premium content of this quality for free is outstanding.

I dream of driving these cars some day Tony, that's all it is! Thanks for the sub and comment :)
I've just come here from your newest W123 Merc video, going to watch everything from the beginning! Many thanks for the absolute time and quality of your videos.
You my friend are going to be not just the next top gear but even bigger than it. Love your work, love your vibe. Wish you all the best.

It's already great fun Ben! Non stop but isn't that the best way? [do not rock my boat on that one]
That's so awesome ! I have to watch all the series again, it's so awesome :) The repairs on the vogue ... omg !
Lol don't hurt your eyes! Thanks for watching. :)
@@soupclassicmotoring hey you are doing so much work that's the least I can do :)

Amazing production, my mother had the same range from new back in 89. Unfortunately it was a non runner and sold for €800 in 2003. This production is epic, watching from the start 👍
They’re a lovely thing, but they’re more and more difficult to justify or afford running these days
Had a motorbike project been sitting on for 4 years, became Ill this year and decided to get on with it, i've also been wanting to start a channel and again always found reasons not too. Your videos are amazing and have encouraged me even more.
Thanks mate, deadly to hear your on it and I hope the health is ok. Good luck with the bike. Hey where did you find the series?
Was mentioned in a thread on pistonheads
Eight cars, awaiting restoration, for all - every single one - of the reasons you mentioned. You're my hero. Lead on!
i'm 21, and last year i started as an apprentice blacksmith, so i'm glad i can prove the old guy at leat a bit wrong

Happy to hear that! :)
your patience in filming and production is amazing!
Cheers mate. Easy when you love what you're doing... most of the time :)
My editing and production are definitely not to the same spec, gives me something to shoot towards though.

Really enjoying these George, great stuff!
Long time PB glad you're into it, see you soon.
Love your video and passion for automotive stuff. Looking forward to more videos. You're going to succeed I have no doubt

Fantastic restoration! Bu "I didn't bought"... holy shit, that's bad! :-)
Your family had a few slingings when you were a kid George buying a range in the Republic back in the day top dollar.love the show.
My lot had some nice cars over the years but a little more modest J, the RR was a new addition to the family along with the uncle ;)
I just discovered this channel, what good content! Beautiful and well-depicted restorations. unbelievable that this channel has no more subscribers .. anyway I'm a new subsrciber!

Found you through a Google search (“best car restoration series”) and Jalopnik’s site. Awesome!
5th hit thanks to Jalopnik! Thanks a mill for including the search term.
George, a lot has happened in just a few years.....! 😁 👍🏼
You don't know the half of it. I've been thinking of a way of starting to explain some more of the less car related but profound stuff, in the behind the scenes clips. Cheers Ray
@@soupclassicmotoring I do sometimes miss the interviews. But, you gotta do what you gotta do to get the viewing viewership, I guess!

Looking forward to the Esprit build (what a beautiful car) and the RR too. Best of luck.
Laughing here Ben, "old owt yer aaand" and a lot of sucking air through your teeth. Clever man Mike Brewer. Cheers for the support mate.
+1, Ben! I most enjoy the Edd China portions of Wheeler Dealers, and was looking for something that featured more wrenching.

Cool video. Waiting for more
Thanks Mike, be back soon as possible :)
Great sincere content
